I have several long-term friends that come here to have work done to their cars along with myself,…read morewe've all been coming here for a few years. The drive to the shop for any of us literally passes dozens of other shops. I can easily find mechanics out to rip me off, that'll let me drive away in a 2 ton vehicle set to fall apart in a week on the highway or better yet not know what they are doing and cause more damage. The last thing anyone in NY wants is another bill, driving in NY streets whether an aggressive driver or not it's obvious these cars take a beating. At the end it boils down to if: you want some one to sell you and sail you along? Or some one that fairly addresses areas that need attention the most? I'll continue to come here, while the staff are decent folks and owner is very personable the real value is when I am able to drive off with those guys in the rear-view in a car that is notably in much better shape.

I've lived in the U.S. for almost 20 years and I've never encountered anything like this. I asked a…read moresimple question about whether they offer brake system calibration services. Instead of answering, the front desk person slammed the table, got extremely angry, and made me feel like he was about to get violent. His eyes were full of rage, and he accused me of being disrespectful, even though I was polite and calm the whole time. I didn't insult or question his skills--I just wanted to know if they had the capability. Instead, he told me to go back to whoever changed my brake pads. The aggression was so intense that I felt genuinely threatened. This was an awful experience, and I cannot recommend this shop to anyone.

Unprofessional, Hostile & Deceptive Behavior by Manager "Eric" with Retaliation by Ownership…read more I went to this AAMCO location with a broken rear differential. When I initially called to ask for a rough estimate, Eric said he could not provide one without seeing the car, but reassured me that the inspection would be free. He was also oddly flirty with me on the phone, which I found inappropriate but shrugged off. After the inspection, they quoted me over $7,000. When I declined, Eric became aggressive, condescending, and emotionally manipulative. At one point, he even threatened me by saying, "This is on a recorded line." I calmly explained that I had no issue paying for the inspection and even offered to, but he made a scene, only to turn around and say, "Our parking lot is full. We don't need the money!" If it wasn't about money, why the hostility? Later, I called back to speak with the general manager about the issue. Unfortunately, that turned out to be Eric. I then simply asked for the corporate phone number. This clearly implied he was the problem. He refused to give it to me for four minutes, repeatedly asked who I was, and even put me on hold to look up my phone number, presumably to intimidate me. He continued refusing to provide the number until I pressed him further, at which point he gave me a fake number: 1-800-526-0401. He claimed it was printed on my paperwork. It is not. That number is also not AAMCO corporate's. Eric even admitted he knew I was calling to file a complaint, confirming that he was deliberately trying to block me from doing so. This is textbook complaint suppression. Yelp reviews show other women have reported similar treatment from Eric going back at least six months. This points to a clear pattern: gaslighting, intimidation, suppression of complaints, and deeply unprofessional behavior. And then came the retaliation. I never asked for the owner's number, but shortly after hanging up on Eric's threats, I received a call and text from Jon (the franchise owner), saying, "It doesn't get any higher than me." That alone was deeply concerning. He inserted himself immediately, not to apologize or investigate, but to intimidate and control the narrative. I had never contacted him directly. For the owner to jump in unprompted, minimize the issue, and falsely state that there was no further recourse is not just unprofessional, it's retaliatory. I've filed formal complaints with AAMCO Corporate and the Better Business Bureau and will escalate this further if needed. What happened to me is not just about a bad business interaction, it's a pattern of retaliatory abuse and a refusal to take accountability. Avoid this location at all costs, especially if you are a woman. You deserve honesty, professionalism, and respect. None of those things exist here.

DISHONEST SHOP!! I…read morehave brought my car to Josh (owner) back when he was working out of a backyard garage on Merrick. It was a honest shop back then. Now that he has expanded h his business to Franklin Square...seems like customer service has gone down the toilet. He is not on site anymore and won't speak to customers even if there is a disagreement. There is a young guy behind the desk that seems to be running things now. I had an unfortunate encounter with him where he lied about calling me to approve services to my vehicle that I did not approve. I just wanted my brakes and rotors changed and that was confirmed when I dropped off the vehicle...only to be forced to pay for an extra tire rotation ($50 -while tires were already taken off already for brake job!) and coolant top off ($20) that was not pre approved (I had the tires already rotated that same morning at the dealership with an oil change!!). I understand that miscommunications can happen, but don't lie and tell me you called me to approve the extra services!! I have no tolerance for dishonesty!! PLEASE AVOID THIS SHOP AT ALL COSTS!!!
