We needed to get a router for our house after moving and dropped in here about five minutes before close. I know, we're jerks. But on the plus side, no one seemed to care in the store! We walked in, were greeted right away and directed to the router section. SO works in the phone/cable industry so we knew what we wanted and only took a minute to pick ours out. We checked out at the service desk, no wait which was nice, and were gone before close. Cashier at the service desk was very friendly and chatted with us while we cashed out rather than secretly judging us for sneaking in last minute. read more

I have been going to the Brighton, Michigan Best Buy store for several years. My experience has always been positive until today. It was sooo bad that I am compelled to write a review. My experience was so unacceptable. I went in specifically to buy a $400 Bose over ear headphone set. I knew exactly what I wanted and the website indicated it was in stock. I look for a Best Buy sales associate for 10-15 minutes with no luck. I go to the checkout counter where there are two employees helping one customer thinking maybe one of them could sell me the Bose headset. Nope, I'm told only the "Verizon rep" can help with headphones and I am instructed to wait for this Verizon rep to finish helping a customer and I am next. Mind you, there are several blue-shirted Best Buy employees standing around doing nothing. I wait for another 25 minutes and decide , this is ridiculous and leave the store. My question for Best Buy (serious question by the way), what is the purpose of having several employees in blue Best Buy shirts standing around doing nothing when a customer is looking to make an actual purchase. Needless to say, I left and bought the Bose headphones (exact same model) from Target. read more

The service is ok here. You need to know what your looking for and then they can help point you to the right area. Some of the sales folks are helpful and some are not, just like anywhere else read more

Can't even call the store. Needed to verify that a case was actually in stock when it showed 1 in stock online. Called customer service and it's been changed to a call center overseas. Okay service but crap return policy. They only allow you 2 weeks for returns. 2 weeks. Most places have at least 30 days or even up to 90. So now I'm stuck with a store credit that I don't want. read more

I had quite the adventure trying to buy a new phone after mine went caput. AT&T didnt have the phone i wanted, and after trying 2 different locations, one suggested Best Buy. I came to this this location and was eventually helped by one of the four people lolly gagging around. He told me that the had the phone i wanted! I said that's great. I will take it! Then the other shoe dropped. He said i would have to make an appointment to buy it, and they are all booked for today. Wut. I looked around. I saw the employees doing nothing, except one, who was helping the one other person in the store. Insanity. You have one purpose at best buy---sell electronic devices. Couldnt even do that. read more

Hoose another location if you are able to. I entered the store a quickly greeted by two sitting COVID Check individuals stationed with sanitizer and masks. I was asked if I needed help so to make my stop quicker I told the man what I was looking for and he pointed in the direction I needed. Once I was in the area and located the products I wanted I asked another guy if he or someone worked in this section. He said he would get someone for me. 10 minutes later there still was no one arriving to help. I found the product at a different store nearby and left. As I was leaving passed four employees gossiping about personal situations and girls. I asked if anyone was coming to help me and (insert cricket noise here) ......So yeah, I then was asked if I found what I needed. Absence of a shopping bag with zero merch. in it I said no. read more

By the look of the other 1 star reviews I am not the only one disappointed with the customer service. Snarky and rude are just 2 of the words I can use to describe the staff. Or are you folks wanting to be Amazon employees' of the month by having customers not wanting to shop there? When you have an upset customer don't be snarky. When a customer is needing help do not have them walk through the store to the tent to plead for help and then need to walk back from where they started. Have the staff member back there get on their earpiece and state " customer needs help in...." Takes just as much time to do that as telling them to go to the front to the tent without putting out the customer who is not there for you but you should be there for the customer. Now, I must go and get on the internet to read up on and purchase at Amazon what I went to your store to get. read more

This rating is for the ore service by the Geek Squad, Duane, who will service my desk top. Raymond and newcomer, Ellie's, were there to show me a replacement desk top of it is found that my computer is old, in disrepair or something not right. I need my desk top bad. Duane was such a professional, enthusiastic and kind employee to sense my urgency to get my computer back. I'll have withdrawal symptoms but I have faith in him. Raymond's cheerfulness and willingness to mentor Ellis as he learns the rope made this former teacher proud. Only draw back is that I do NOT like their "National" phone number. It was a 39 minute wait so I simply drove the 3 minute ride to the store and started the recovery of my desk top. Do your best Duane! I am counting on you! Update soon! read more

Went in knowing what I wanted to buy, Gonna buy a 350-dollar monitor, about 60 bucks in cables, gonna talk to the rep about some gaming glasses potentially. but instead of that, I came home and ordered it through Newegg and Amazon. This was because I stood in the electronics section for 33 minutes trying to hunt down someone to help me. Please best buy check your camera; I was wearing blue jeans and a brown leather jacket with a grey undershirt, I was in your store at 11:58, had my two HDMI's and was waiting for help by 12:02, I went and put my stuff back at 12:35. PLEASE, save yourself the time and avoid best buy, there is a GOOD reason they are going out of business. read more

I will never shop at Best Buy again, because of a very unpleasant and unprofessional gentleman (?) named Nicholas Martin. I purchased a Macbook Air. Very happy with it. Convinced a friend to buy one after that. Had a problem with Apple ID PW. Spent 2 mos trying to resolve. Two very long phone calls w Apple & the last one told me his machine was defective, I should return it. Not responding as it should. I told Apple where we purchased it & he said they would probably make an exception. We went to Best Buy & I briefly explained the problem & asked for a store mgr because the problem was complicated & I had hoped to explain it once. Nicholas Martin walked over during the conversation & had attitude & "NO" written all over his face. I asked if he was the store mgr & he said yes. We went to the Geek area & discussed further. Basically his answer was that it was an Apple ID PW problem & not returnable. That's NOT what the Apple SR. ADVISOR said. He was rude & I got upset. Told me our options were keep the computer or take a store credit, period. I asked politely for cash as that was how it was purchased. Said he didn't want to rehash it over & over. I said that was unacceptable. I told him I would write as many bad reviews as I could, would write to the local newspapers & tv stations. He said I was threatening him. I wasn't. I told him "you gave me our options, I'm giving you yours". It was not my money or computer, so I asked my friend what he wanted to choose. He accepted the store credit. I went outside because I was very upset. I texted my friend to get a business card & he did. Turns out Mr. Martin is not a store mgr, he is a Geek Squad Mgr. Exactly what I did NOT want because their job is to fix electronics. A store mgr I believe would have been much more polite because they would care about customer satisfaction. They would have at LEAST attempted to care & resolve the problem. Done. As promised, I will post this truthful and negative review EVERYWHERE I can. And neither my friend nor I will ever shop there again. Except to use up his store credit for $1100 that my farmer friend needs like a hole in the head. read more

They have a very unfriendly and uncaring atmosphere. Geek Squad is very unfriendly plus you have to wait in line. Needed to wait a long time to get computer back. They won't answer the phone. I'm at Best Buy in Brighton, after Labor Day it's Wednesday deader than a doornail here. I bought a computer from here and they said I could bring my old one in to have it recycled, one of those big old Towers. I walked past the guy the guard at the door he doesn't even look at me cuz he doesn't want to help, I walk past two young guys that work for Best Buy I walk past two young guys that work for Best Buy they didn't say and word. Brighton, MI Best Buy I was just in Best Buy to buy $400 in product. My card has a bad chip. Every other store has been accommodated. When I was in Best Buy. Not only were they not accommodating. The store manager was extremely rude and didn't offer any help in the least. To top it off I was lectured on security and interrupted multiple times while attempting to resolve or find a resolution. I recognize fraud is high during this time of year but I wasn't given any options. I had several forms of ID and they didn't even offer to contact Amex directly or help me to confirm the sale online or otherwise. He ripped the product away from me like a criminal. Extremely embarrassing to be treated so poorly without any sign of remorse. He obviously is having a bad day and taking it out on customers. read more

Note that this 1 star review is based on my experience with the Geek Squad at this location a few years ago and still leaves me fuming! Summer of 2006 I brought back in my HP laptop to be serviced for the 3rd time in 13 months. Convinced I bought a lemon I was planning on yet another few weeks without the laptop while Best Buy & HP coordinated fixing the power pin to my motherboard. a few weeks go by and the lap top is done. I send a family member to pick it up as I'm fresh out of emergency surgery. I get home, laptop back and ready to fire it up and catch up.... I turn on the laptop and, to my surprise, find my computer WIPED CLEAN... all programs, documents, EVERYTHING GONE! Furious, we try getting ahold of Best Buy. The Geek Squad manager of this location (where we brought it in) has no clue what's going on and after looking into it a few minutes, tells me "oh well there was an irregularity with your hard drive so they replaced it." Never was I contacted about such a thing and I certainly did not and would not have authorized this. Geek Squad blamed HP, HP says Best Buy authorized the repair. Geek Squad policy, as I was made aware is that any and all repairs must be ok'd by the customer before said work is done. all HP and Best Buy did was blame each other and the customer service rep at Best Buy did was give me attitude and essentially told me that it sucks but it's not their problem. Said laptop died on me again 3 months later (4 instances within a year and a half).. this putting their lemon policy into effect. I paid $1,000 for the lap top and they tried to force a $600 laptop on me... I was not playing that game and after an hour convinced me to give me full price for my laptop to which I purchase a Gateway and am typing this review on (4 years later). This experience will certainly make me think twice or three times about purchasing my next laptop from Best Buy.. I can tell you, I certainly will never deal with the Geek Squad again! read more

Customer service is not this Best Buy's forte. I stood by the laptops walking around genuinely curious about the differences in laptops and no employee stopped to ask me if I needed help. Researched the differences myself and stood in front of the one I chose for THIRTY MINUTES. Multiple employees looked my way, I finally walked out. I'll just order online I guess. read more

With fewer people going into the store, the least they could do is answer their phone. Either their phone system is broken ( and I thought you were a tech company), or the store is not properly staffed to handle higher call volumes (you should have gotten a handle on your staffing needs by this point), or you have no customer service skills whatsoever. Pick up the phone when someone calls their local store. read more

I would have given this store four stars easy and maybe five just a few years ago, but the quality of service here has took a nosedive to the point that it caused me to write this review. Several employees one young man very rude and arrogant. Others that had no knowledge and clueless to the products I was enquirering about. I know the coronavirus and lockdown shook a lot of Buisnesses and they're trying to rehire their workforce but the poor quality of the several workers and rudeness I dealt with has caused them to lose this customer. They need to do some more firing and hiring until they build a quality workforce again. read more

I usually have good experiences at this Best Buy but about a year and 3 months ago I purchased an 1,000 + dollar mac book pro laptop from them. Just the other day my computer completely crashed. I've been told that it's completely gone and not worth the money to fix it so I might as well buy another laptop. Again this was a very expensive Mac and the newest one and it barely lasted more that a year. I was sent out the door with pretty much just an oh well. Not a sorry and or any other solutions. This was so disappointing to me, I am a college student so it was a very important and valuable purchase for me. I wish they would have atleast tried to work something out with me sense there was no way for me to control this issue . It had no water damage or general damaged on the laptop. When I got there I was greeted by Kevin. I explained what had happened and he brought me over to the Geek Squad. He was AWESOME!!!! He was so nice and really listen to me. Prices on retail products that aren't on sale are quite high. Geek Squad's primary service is $299 if you have files you want to keep. I'm all for fixing a system and saving some money, but at $300 not including hardware, that is pretty hard to swallow. I actually don't like the layout of the store, it is very overwhelming and not in the kid in a candy store way. Too many people asking me if they can help (over and over) or ignoring me. Bought a Toshiba laptop here in March 2016. The hard drive crashed in October. My choice was wait 2-4 weeks to send it to Toshiba to be repaired/replaced under warranty or pay $75 for a new hard drive, and $99 for a new OS to get it in 2-3 days. I went with option 2, with the thought that surely, the store would refund the replacement and deal with Toshiba on the failure to get their money back. NOPE. Not a chance.
