I bought a $39 Groupon for a 1 hour massage at Body Techniques and it was THE BEST MASSAGE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. I love massages and can be really picky but I am already planning my next massage with Body Techniques because Lauren P has fantastic, magical, amazing hands. BOOKING: Getting a booking was incredibly stress-free - I called a week before my Groupon was due to expire and immediately scheduled a Saturday morning deep tissue massage. The receptionist was really helpful which is awesome because trying to get a booking through Groupon can be a huge pain. FACILITIES: Super clean and nice and there's a ton of free parking! I also loved my massage room - it was really zen and had these cute little beads hanging off the wall AND a heated bed, what more could you want? MASSAGE: The massage was incredible. So, so good. I could not stop talking about it all weekend to anyone who would listen. I dance 3-5 times a week, and have a lot of tension built up in my shoulders and lower back. So you could say I have a love-hate relationship with deep tissue. Why? Because it's painful and uncomfortable and the entire time you're forcing yourself not to tense up but you go anyway because the payoff is so worth it. Right? WRONG. Lauren P has enlightened me. Deep tissues are fun, and awesome, and feel really really good, even if your masseuse is working out a particularly stubborn knot in your shoulder. Lauren took her time warming up all my muscles, shaking and rubbing them down before she started the massage. And when she did, it was AWESOME. Her hands are so strong and her technique is so precise. I felt a lot of pressure as she worked on the knots on my back, but it never hurt (except in a good way) or felt uncomfortable. She absolutely one hundred percent knows what she is doing. With deep tissue, some masseuses can accidentally move your ligaments around because they are using so much pressure. Okay fine, it doesn't really hurt you but is incredibly uncomfortable. Despite all the pressure Lauren was exerting on my muscles, her hands/elbows were super steady and she never "slipped". AMAZINGGGGG. The next day, I seriously felt like a whole new woman. All the pain in my body was just gone. So yes! I will definitely be back! And if you have been looking for a deep tissue masseuse who will make all your pain go away, and make you enjoy every second of the process, you absolutely have to give Body Techniques a shot. This review is for Nicolette's Courageous Core Workshop at Body Techniques in January. I thought $29 for a 2.5 hour class was an amazing value. During that time, Nicolette was able to pack in traditional yoga, tension relief techniques with therapy balls, and meditation. The focus wasn't on developing 6-pack abs but having a strong center to support your whole being. We ended the class with some tips on acupressure points for relieving all types of ailments. The class was well-paced and Nicolette was able to walk around the room to answer questions and guide individuals without being intimidating. I'm looking forward to taking her quarterly workshops. It was a bit tricky finding the location since it's in an office building so thankfully there's a small sandwich board on the street. The front desk is down the hallway from the yoga studio. They seem to offer a lot of deals on yoga classes and massages so I will look into that. read more

Having had chronic neck and shoulder pain for the past 20 years or so, I am to massages like a junkie is to drugs. I get so much tension and pain around my neck and shoulder area that sometimes I can't think about anything else but how to find relief from it. So, when Living Social had an offer for Body Technique, I decided to give them a try after seeing all the glowing reviews here on Yelp. I booked a time and was randomly assigned to Alicia B. It was a stroke of pure luck! Alicia just happened to specialize in the neck and shoulder area. When I told her of my problems, she got right to work on my problem areas. She employed MFT or myofascia therapy, a targeted manipulation and stretching of muscles around trigger points. Like I said, I've had a LOT of massages in the past. Some were okay and some were pretty good while I was on the table, but no one really made progress in relieving my long term pain. I knew immediately after my first session with Alicia that I felt better. It actually felt like she got deep enough into those knots and tight muscles and had 'changed' something. She worked hard and I was sore for a few days but I knew the relief from pain and the relaxing of the muscles she achieved wouldn't just be temporary like all the other massages I had gotten. I booked my second appointment for the following week immediately. Now, after three sessions with Alicia, I am 90% better than when I first laid down on her table. I no longer feel pain on a regular basis. It is nothing short of amazing! After living with the knots and the tightness for so long, I thought it was just a part of me and that massages were a temporary feel-good measure. However, with Alicia's hard work, I am optimistic that I will gain long-term relief and be rid of my pain-in-the-neck once and for all. In case it wasn't clear to you, I highly recommend Alicia B. She is professional, attentive and obviously gifted in massage! As for Body Techniques, the facilities are large, clean and well-maintained. I like to think there's a protocol both to writing and to responding to a YELP review (I recently came to this bit of brilliance when my cat groomer was freaking out & asked me how to respond to a bad review). I like how in Vegas, Yelpers often add their qualifications at the end of their reviews - I actually wish Yelp would make that part of the form. And I try to revisit (in person & on Yelp) a business that responds constructively to criticism (it's someone's livelihood, after all). Let me say, Body Techniques knows how. The morning after I posted my mixed review of our couple's massage, the owner Austin sent me private message apologizing for my disappointment, explaining some of the limitations of their environment, and inviting me to contact him. The next day he followed up with a phone call. Now compare that to a certain masseuse whose reviews I'd been reading who posts public objections to every single critical review (and there are many); it's like being on the playground listening to 2 kids battle (Am not! Are too! Am not! Are too!). Uh, here's a tip: if 2 out of 3 people find you rude, I'm guessing that contradicting them on Yelp isn't going to make them find you less so. Back to Body Techniques...so, taking advantage of the current Yelp offer, I scheduled Swedish massages for myself and my sister-in-law. When we arrived, Austin was nervous about giving me the same masseur again, but my sister-in-law wasn't comfortable having a man do her first massage so took the masseuse. (For some reason, they didn't have her fill out an info form.) Anyway, Pom the Sequel was terrific; we were each warm enough in our respective rooms; and it was one of the few times I've seen my sister-in-law smile. E-ver. (That alone would have been redemption enough, but Austin gave me a 30% credit for 2 future massages. Now, that's a response!) Came here with my husband on a google deal and we were both very glad we did it. First of all, their online appointment booking system could not be any easier. Every service place should have something like this. It made it easy for me to see all of their availability without having to waste both their and my own time in having to call and have them read all the times they can take me. Unlike some other services/restaurants that I have redeemed through various coupon offers, they still treat you like a regular patron without the google deal. They treat you and give you the same service as a full paying customer, very smart of them for client retention. The massage itself: I got Kylie for a deep tissue and man, did she get into those muscles. Usually I get deep tissue because the swedish massage is like an oil rub and I needed something more than that. She really got into those muscles and found knots and worked on them for a long time to get the kinks out. She used her whole body for the force and worked with her hands, arms, and elbows. Needless to say that I didn't fall asleep in this massage as it hurt a little at times, but it was the good hurt that I know will be worth it tmw when all my muscles have loosened up. Definitely recommend her for those who can handle a true deep tissue. My husband got Meri and he also highly recommended her for a swedish massage with hard pressure. He said although she only spent a few minutes on his feet, her technique was amazing. She also showed that she really cared about overall muscle relaxing rather than just getting his massage hour over with. She noticed that he has an extra bulging muscle on one of his calf and asked if she can spend less time on his shoulder and more on his leg to fix that muscle. It was harder than she thought to loosed so she massaged him for an extra 15 min over the hour that we booked for! The staff here is super nice and all really know how to truly massage. In terms of my credibility, I'm a huge massage junky and get an average of one to two a month and have tried many different kinds. So I definitely have had my share of amazing and horrible massages. I can say this place is very legit. As for the atmosphere, some people have critiqued it being a cold office building- I mean yes, it is in an office building but they work really hard to make their waiting room very peaceful. Instead of normal waiting chairs, they have 4 of those sharper image massaging lounge chairs, I was very impressed. The massage rooms themselves are just like any other massage rooms- very peaceful with candles and decor, soothing music, and a heated blanket on the massage table. You just know coming in here that you arent going to be at a spa like Burke Williams, so you can't expect that. And you shouldn't because their prices are very reasonable and you definitely aren't paying Burke Williams price. This place is a therapeutic massage place, not a spa- they never advertised to be that. My only critique is I would like for them to use some therapeutic massage oil/lotion. Maybe something that smells nice like lavender as they only use non scented lotion right now. When you are relaxing, all your senses heighten and something simple like smell can really make all the difference. read more

This is my second time at B.T. The first time was for a Thai massage - massage was pretty good but the room was chilly.... which makes me tense. Not good. I have to give it to B.T. that they took a note of that and made sure that didn't happen on my second visit. Visit #2 - a hot-stone massage with (I think) Christina. Christina's hands were absolutely magical - she's really gifted with a great touch. And, I'm a tough judge - I was a bodyworker for over twenty years. The only weird thing was, she didn't massage the front of my legs; and we had an hour and a half so there was plenty of time. She spent an inordinate amount of time on my neck, but missed a quarter of my body. I don't know why I didn't ask her about it.... it just was weird. Minus one star - What REALLY didn't work for me - there were two people (one mostly) talking nonstop outside of the door. I would've drifted into complete oblivion, but I just couldn't because of the incessant talking just outside the door. So, if I do go back I'll ask for a room further from the front desk. Besides my poor experience with the front desk, my massage and facial were great! Cliff and Jennifer took care of me and really made my experience great. On the downside, I was not impressed by the front desk whatsoever. I had bought the Groupon to try this place out and booked my appt two weeks in advance. Since the Groupon was only eligible Monday through Thursday, I had to schedule it on Tuesday and request a half day from work. I received a phone call the day of my appt on Tuesday and said they couldn't see me because the woman I was scheduled with quit. Definitely a red flag. Not sure if the woman quit that day or they barely called me until a few hours until my appt, but either way they didn't offer anything for the inconvenience. They scheduled me on a Saturday because I said I was not going to request another half day from work. When I came in on Saturday, Cliff told me that they only had me for an hour massage and no facial. Cliff could definitely read my facial expression and she went to go see what she could do and she came back saying everything was fine and they fit me in for my facial. The minus 1 star is not for Cliff and Jennifer, it's for the front desk. read more

One of the best massage therapists I've ever experienced is Alicia at Body Techniques. She does more than make you feel good. She's really good with injuries and chronic issues. My husband has had other massage therapists and has always been very happy. The staff at Body Techniques is always friendly and helpful. It's a bit farther to travel than I'd like, but it is worth it for the quality of care I have received there. There prices are good and they often have specials. read more

How could I say no to a massage day with my mom and sister at 8 months pregnant? Exactly- I didn't. All three of us emerged from our 60 minute treatments with a relaxed glow and complete satisfaction. The massage therapists took time to learn about each of our needs, and even followed up with some exercises and stretches with my sister to help heal her back pain. My wife and I have been here several times over the years (ever since they opened), but I didn't feel compelled to write a review until today. When I've gone in the past, I've had great experiences with two therapists, and mediocre experiences with two others (when my regulars weren't available). Unfortunately, neither of the good ones is still there and I no longer feel like playing Russian Roulette with whom I may get. But that's not the reason for the 2 star rating. That honor is reserved for the customer service my wife and I have received over the years. Initially there were chronic problems "with the computer" whenever she would try to redeem a coupon or gift card. Although it was no fault of her own, that was the tone conveyed by staff as they questioned her whenever they hit a snag in the payment process. A couple of years ago someone who claimed to be the owner got real snippy with her. Unfortunately, she didn't tell me until we got home; otherwise, he and I would have discussed the matter in a more direct manner. Since we've stopped going, poor service and rude staff are no longer an issue. So what is it now? We continue to receive email offers of flash sales and the like. However, no matter when we get them, and no matter how soon we respond, the type and length of massage is never, and I mean NEVER available. Today I emailed about my experience of getting shut out again, and voiced my frustration. In return I received a well-intentioned, but naively insulting response. The gist? Yep, sorry we're sold out. Offer is for today only. But if you want something for tomorrow (when the sale ends), I can help you with that. Oh, and keep an eye out for your email because we MAY offer it again. Really? First of all, I realize they're sold out; that's why i wrote. Secondly, I DO keep an eye out for my email. Finally, I don't need help making an appointment online for tomorrow or any other day. Just stop advertising what you don't have and/or aren't willing to offer. It is treatment like this that prompted us to stop going to Body Techniques and find a new retreat in Napa. And it's proven to be a blessing in disguise. There the membership rates are better, the customer service is reliable, and it is not a problem to secure appointments with the same practitioner no matter when we go. I adore my therapist and marvel at how effective she is. Think about it. Body Techniques is literally walking distance from our home, but we consciously choose to go to Napa for our massages. I don't enjoy the time and gas spent driving. But at least we get what we came for; it is a healthy, rejuvenating experience; and it is a much better value. read more

I was introduced to Body Techniques through a coworker, who organized a work outing for massages. Upon arrival, I was kinda surprised at the location, as it was located in a business facility (so finding the place can be a little tricky). There were plenty of massage rooms, so we barely waited before we got started with our massages. Overall, I had a good experience at Body Techniques, and it was truly a bonus to be helped by such a friendly staff. My massage therapist was very professional, and continually checked in with me to see if the pressure was ok. It was a bonus to receive a follow-up thank you email the day of, as well as a phone call the following day. They offer a variety of services- massages (Swedish, deep, sports, pre-natal, etc), acupuncture, facials, yoga, facial products. The website was easy to navigate and very informative. This place offers great marketing promos as they are active on Yelp and Groupon. And even without the promos, the price is still reasonable. Pom is awesome. I've had 3 other massage therapists to compare. He and Mui are my favorites but Mui only does yoga now, I was told a few months ago. Pom gives killer shoulder and neck massages. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better after he spent what seems like hours on my tense shoulders, he would work on my neck and just gives this amazing massages, loosening my knots. I like it firm but not to the point that I'm about to pass out and Pom gives it just the perfect amount, using a combo of Swedish + deep tissue + Thai massages. My massage therapist was Midori - excellent deep tissue massage. They seemed to be limiting Groupon appointments; I was able to get one within two weeks due to today being a holiday; otherwise I would've had to wait longer than 2 months for a weekend or late pm workday appointment, if using Groupon. read more

My fiance and I went in here about a week ago for a little R&R. We got a couple's massage with Hot Stones, something I'd never tried before. I'm used to arts like Swedish or Shiatsu. Personally, I thought I'd be just laying on a bed of heated rocks and that was it. Oh how wrong I was! Lauren took care of me just right. She made sure the stones' temperature wasn't too hot, asked about how much pressure was good, and was on her way to nearly putting me to sleep. Massages in general are just amazing and so relaxing, but when you throw some heat into the mix with steamed stones out of a turkey oven, it enhances the effect 10 fold! This review is specific to the exercise classes. PRICING: I would give four stars for the deals on classes because of prices. The pricing via TravelZoo, Groupon and Yelp (new customers only) are really good and it was an opportunity to try different yoga classes. Would agree with other reviewers that Sage is a great instructor. The negative to the deals is they are offered A LOT, but only for new customers which is too bad for loyal customers who are paying regular prices. Cons to classes which deflate the four stars for pricing: Finding a class to take is difficult if you work a normal weekday job so sometimes your best(only) options are weekends. However, that is research you can do beforehand if you're interested in purchasing one of the deals. Classes (weekday and weekends) fill up every time there is a special offer launched and because they allow walk-ins, they can be over-crowded. Tried the bootcamp with my bestie and the teacher, Amber, was great about demonstrating the correct form for exercises/stretching and answering questions, but neither of us have ever had a teacher/trainer who then spent THE ENTIRE TIME working out WITH the class. She did not go around correcting anyone's form on her own and that's pretty unusual for any instructor. She does stop her workout to shout out a lot of motivational cheers and time the exercises. End result, we both agreed that we could work out on our own instead of paying a teacher to workout or tell us how every time how much she works out. That's the main reason the review ended up at one star. Don't have a trainer that is so proud of his/her body that she doesn't focus the time you pay for to help you improve yours. That means making you're doing the exercises correctly and really looking at students exercise during class. Also, the class is scheduled for an hour and always started 5-10 min late and ended before the hour was up. It doesn't have to be precise, but if we were there on time, why can't the teacher? Several times, new students showed up without shoes thinking they were taking a stretch(only) bootcamp and since crowded classes can mean working out in the business park, a better description of the classes would help newbies. Running or a brisk walk outside is always part of the warm up and cool down of the class. read more

Yes, its a very casual atmosphere, and at first it seems a little odd to be taking your clothes off in a business park (like you're going in to work for some sort of rubdown)...but the location is how they're able to keep prices so low. I had an appointment today for a couples massage. I was searching Yelp for a place that accommodated couples (aka had at least two masseurs on hand). I had Micheal A and he had Lerissa. We both had amazing experiences, they were courteous and professional, listened when we talked about our "problem areas", weren't overly chatty and were sure to check that they were applying the correct amount of pressure. Neither of us got that "too oily" experience where we felt we had to shower immediately (although I noted there are showers in the building). Both of our jobs put enormous pressure on our bodies and we were achey when we arrived but left feeling light as feathers. I'm writing this now because my boyfriend is sleeping he was that relaxed. Michael even realigned my spine and showed me stretches I could do to help with the tension I had in my shoulders. I agree it was tricky to find at first, it's in a business park and our appointment was on a Sunday evening when there were not any other cars in the lot but Waze GPS app led us right to it and it was fine. We will definitely be back. Update: This time around, I had Angel and he was an angel! I got the hot stone (solo this time) and it was super relaxing. I wasn't expecting to chat through the entire massage but Angel was so interesting, I didn't mind. My back was really out of whack from work and stress and life and it had been a long time (not three years of course) since I'd gotten a massage and a very long time since I'd splurged on a good place like this. I spent an hour and a half with Angel and I can feel the difference in my posture and movement. I definitely need to make a point of visiting Body Techniques more often. I did look for Micheal A's card on the desk and I didn't see it, nor did his name pop up when I was booking my massage online so maybe he's moved on. I've come here for three massages now. It's reliable, it's convenient, it's affordable, it's clean and comfortable. It doesn't exactly have a "spa" environment, as it's in a large office building and many of its massage rooms and the yoga studio are actually outside of its main suite... which is kinda odd... but not necessarily bad. There are no showers or robes or any of that stuff; you basically just meet your masseuse and they lead you to the massage room and you just undress there. I initially didn't mind that there were no showers... until I decided that I really didn't like pulling on my tight jeans over greasy ass legs and having my greasy ass feet sliding around in my ballet slippers while I walk to my car. Gross. Oh well, not big enough of a gripe to stop me from coming here. The rooms themselves are nice... got the low light and mood music going. Nice warm massage tables. Dominique is a wonderful peppy masseuse... I felt real comfortable with her. I told her my lower back was really bugging me, so I was surprised when it felt like she didn't really focus a lot of time on rubbing it out... BUT when i got off that table i realized my back pain was GONE! ...how the heck...??? I got my very first hot stone massage from Mikeh, and I asked for firm pressure... BOOYYYY did she give me firm pressure! She's got fingers like WHOA. If you really want someone to beat the crap out of your knots, ask for Mikeh. read more

I purchased a Travelzoo voucher for a facial at Body Techniques so drove all the way from the North Bay to this gem in Alameda, tucked away in an office building. The waiting room was relaxing, with green tea and a small fountain. The massage chairs helped me chill (using the "rolling" setting) before my treatment. Kate, the esthetician (also a massage therapist), was friendly and experienced. I'd noticed how BT's massages recently won "best of Alameda," and the mini-massage included in my facial made me wish I'd booked a massage for my husband with Kate. This was the best facial I've had, and the tight muscles of my neck, shoulders and arms melted thanks to her intuitive and expert touch. Highly recommend. read more

I woke up with a crick in my neck, so hopped on Groupon to see if I could find a massage deal. Luckily, one popped up for Body Techniques, which included a facial (score!). I found the BT online system very easy to use, and scheduled my appointment for both the massage and facial back to back. I had to cancel/reschedule and did so quite easily by phone (I'd add a sixth star just for having responsive and professional front office staff!). 4 weeks later when I had time in my schedule again, I finally got my one hour massage with Liz. She really was AWESOME. My old massage therapist had to retire due to arthritis, and I've been on a mission to find someone new that met my standards. I have a "friend" (knot) in my shoulder that's been there for decades. Liz's "search and destroy" method of finding the knots and working them out was seriously the most anyone therapist has ever dedicated to helping me with "friend." Liz spent time on the spots where I needed them most, and the tingling in my toes and cleared up sinuses were just some of the immediate results. I was a little sort the day after (in a good way), and the second day after I felt 10x looser and flexible in my shoulders and neck. I'm definitely a fan, and will be going back to Liz as soon as I can! After my one hour massage, I had a facial scheduled with Kate who called in sick, so Monique filled in for her. Monique was so attentive - really listening to my skin concerns. She was very thorough, but kept the facial comfortable and relaxing at the same time. My skin looked refreshed and clearer. Two days later my normally un-observant husband actually commented on how great my skin looked =) I give Body Techniques an absolute 5 stars, and can't wait for my next visit! read more

Fabulous! 5 stars all the way! First, this place was definitely hard to find - luckily I gave myself plenty of time to get there. Once I finally walked in the lobby, I was greeted and had no issue using my Yelp deal. I was mildly surprised that there wasn't some sort of medical waiver to complete, but I have only had one other massage (well, professional massage, heh) in my life so maybe this is the norm. My massage therapist was Alicia B. and we started right on time. She asked what areas I wanted her to concentrate on - I mentioned that I tend to clench my jaw when stressed so I have a lot of neck and shoulder pain resulting from that. She knew exactly what to do and went straight to work. Just the right amount of pressure and some light conversation. I actually felt myself dosing off a few times and even started drooling at some point. Heavenly. My only issue came sometime in the middle of the session...the oil she applied was super HOT. Ouch! When I yelped (heh), she apologized and remedied the situation but it did take me out of my zen state for a moment. Near the end of the hour, Alicia said she would like to keep going, as I was still very tense . She said she would continue with the massage at no extra charge - SAY WHAT?!?!?! Today started off like just another day: 5 snoozes, gym, errands, job search, web surfing--totally exhausting-- no one deserved a pamper session more than I did....... who am I kidding? Seriously... Not sure how happy I should sound right now (though I am feeling pretty damn wonderful)-- my visit to Body Techniques was thanks to my boyfriend's chronic back pain. After putting it off for months, we finally sat down to do some yelp research. Our priorities were to find a local establishment that offered quality massages for a decent price. Surprisingly enough, Body Techniques did us justice! We both received 1hr Swedish massages for a whopping $49 each (a promotional price with a Yelp mention). I've had a few massages before, but I must say, Katie from BT gave the most thorough massage I've ever received. I noticed a significant difference instantly as I was pulling my jacket on at the end of my session. The tension in my neck/shoulder area was released and felt easier to move. It was definitely a plus when I learned that my boyfriend was extremely satisfied with his massage, and has even stated that it was "the best massage" he's ever received. This establishment is perfect for routine massages. It has a nice cozy atmosphere, but it lacks in the full spa experience with all the fancy amenities--which isn't a problem for me personally, but may become an issue if you are looking for such. read more

Yikes, maybe it was a rarity (especially after seeing so many good reviews) but it was a very low quality massage. The appointment was for a deep tissue and it was a so/so Swedish, at best. Very little to no deep (or even mild) tissue work at all -- which is what I so very much wanted and signed up for. I'm a mama of two little ones and really looked forward to this for relief and restoration. I didn't get that at all :( Big disappointment. I hope others can have a better experience. My boss wanted to provide free 15-minute refresher massages for everyone on our team in San Jose. This came out to 200 people and roughly 50 hours of massage time. I contacted Body Techniques and they gave competitive rates. What really put them above the other places we talked to was their online booking system. Our company was given our own link to send out to employees who would then be able to schedule and manage their own appointment times. The therapists that came were for the most part, nice, clean, and friendly. As will all massage therapist, quality changes greatly between 2 therapists, so I can't include that in my review. I'd recommend them if you're looking for an easy solution for corporate massages. read more

Body Techniques provides the on-site massage service at my company and I have to say that I was less than happy with the massage I recieved. The guy who gave me a massage was, first late, and two had and unpleasant odor. The massage itself was decent but you know, I've had better and I'd rather go somewhere else next time. They got two stars for the convenience factor but that didn't make up for many mistakes. When it came time to pay, the guy had my write down my credit card number and information on a piece of paper. I thought this was pretty sketchy and I never got a receipt for it. A WHOLE 3 MONTHS later, I get a call from Body Techniques telling me they need my credit card information because they never charged my card. I KNEW it was sketchy when I wrote down my information. Needless to say, this is a terrible way to handle customer's confidential financial information. The girl who called said she doesn't know what happened with that paper with my information (really put me at ease...not!). Then when transfered to the manager, he told me my information was already shredded. At this point, I'm thinking that's a pretty convenient thing to say. Now I have to dig through my CC statements to make sure they haven't charged me yet, so I don't get charged twice. Body Techniques...work on your accounting techniques. read more

I was super tense, stressed, and a mess, so my mom sent me here for the the acupuncture & Swedish massage special as a gift. My only complaint is that it did not last long enough! It was my first time getting acupuncture, and I was a little hesitant. The idea of having these long needles being stuck in various locations on my body did not really seem appealing. However, since my mom was paying for it, I decided to give it a try. Great decision. It was incredibly relaxing, and I fell asleep during the session. I was a little dizzy walking from the acupuncture room to my massage, but it was almost like I was in a dream sequence. The massage following the acupuncture was the perfect complement. My shoulders & back are incredibly knotted and tense, so there's only so much the woman could do in one hour, but it was still amazing. I definitely felt a difference afterward. I would definitely go back here on a regular basis if I had the money. I know I could definitely use several more massages, but for now I'm stuck getting them from my boyfriend. His are not as great, but at least they're free. read more

Got a certificate for a massage from a friend and....wow. Got a really great massage from Alicia. She was friendly, professional and intuitive. I've worked with other massage therapists over the years who didn't seem to know where the knots are as well as her. I was so impressed. 4.5 stars on this place, I really was very happy with my massage here. Pro's: 1) You can book online! And it works really well. I made my appointment on Friday at 11:30am or so...for Saturday at 10AM! Less than 24 hours in advance and it worked like a charm. There even was a way to request your masseuse, and indicate if you were using a Yelp/LivingSocial offer. 2) The massage itself was top quality. I was so sad it was over. 3) The atmosphere in the rooms is very serene, and you can't tell that you're in an office park. Only con I experienced was that I did hear conversations right outside the door multiple times. I kinda wish they would have had their conversations over in reception or the waiting area, but then again, I kinda don't care. It wasn't that loud. EDIT: I've been told now that all the rooms are being sound-insulated so this will not be an issue any more in the future. Hooray! Next time I need a massage, I will be back. read more

Just came home from having my first massage here. I suffer from migraines and often carry a lot of weight on my neck which can end up causing me day after day of tension headaches and migraines. After talking to Austin on the phone, he suggested I see Tracy. She was really warm and friendly and did a really great job working out some tight muscles and making suggestions about what I should try in the next few days to keep them loose and start feeling better. I also really liked the friendly nature of the staff and how professional they were without being like a doctor's clinic and relaxed enough without being like some new age spa bullshit. It was just a great, clean, professional place to get some body work done so I can get back to feeling better. And I really do feel better already. Thank you Tracy and Austin! Also, their prices are very reasonable. I am not used to tipping for massage as I've always had mine done in more clinical settings (would you tip your doctor? your dentist?) but the price was fair enough that I could include a small tip if I chose to. It's also reasonable enough with their different options and specials to let me keep coming back for more regular treatments which is really crucial for people with chronic headaches etc. read more

Was recommened by a friend to go here (Thanks Ray) and because it was close to work and close to home.. I decided to give it a shot. I booked online... and what a great deal.. If you book online for the first time your massage is only $49. When you book it shows $59 for a Swedish Massage but after the massage they tell you that you have a $10 credit. So I first get there Liz greats me with a friendly smile and welcomes me into the room. An hour later... I am fully relaxed and I know I totally fell asleep during the massage... lol Thanks Liz I walked out of the room feeling dazzed and confused.. lol it was great! Will definenitly come back!! For a clean, legit place not located in some city's Chinatown, this place is remarkably inexpensive. If you buy a monthly membership, the prices just become outrageously affordable. That only makes sense if you get massages, like, every week, but still. If you buy massages in packs of five, they become $50-something per hour. I had Tracy. She was fantastic. I read through all the driving related posts, and I had a GPS, and directions, but I still got lost. Give yourself an extra 20 minutes on your first appointment. You'll be glad you did. read more

My boyfriend and I came here today for a couples massage to celebrate our anniversary, this was our second time. The lobby has nice massage chairs for you to sit in while you wait. We had our massage in a room, beds on the opposite sides of each other light the shape of an L, I guess so the therapists have room to walk around. I had amber, she was really good and soft hands, so relaxing and rejuvenating especially with the music they play in the room. My bf had Tracy, he said she was really good and got all the right spots with just the right amount of pressure. They both did a really good job and we left happy. We plan on doing this more often. read more

My girlfriend and I have gotten couple massages here a few times and find ourselves constantly wanting to go back. The service is superb, they meet all your needs and anticipate your needs as the massages take place. The couples massages are in a large, quiet/relaxing room that provides a great experience. They also have a great staff to choice from well in advance or when you arrive. It seems to be key, since your needs maybe different from visit to visit. I tend to go with therapists that focus on golfers, skiers and hard computer users. Haven't been disappointed yet. The other shocking thing is their pricing. I feel like they are so cheap compared to the competitors in the area and provide an expensive experience (in all the good ways). I seem to find deals either being apart of their blank emails and through Yelp emails. You're missing out, if you haven't made a visit yet. This is probably one of the best kept secrets on the island. read more

The beauty about her is that she does deep tissue but has a very healing quality to her. Very rare find and combination for a good deep tissue rub down. I'm very, very picky about body work - I've had lots, and it's hard to impress me. Mikeh is amazing - very knowledgeable about muscles and trigger points and how to unlock the things that made me go ouch. I feel much better, even after only one session! I am so happy with my visit to Body Techniques. I'd been suffering from back spasms that were causing me severe back, neck, and head pain for over two weeks. It was hard getting dressed, doing my job, sleeping, etc. I had tried heat, stretching, anti inflammatories, muscle relaxers, cupping, and a massage (elsewhere) without any relief. Last night I went to see Angel to try massage one last time. The massage was targeted at my areas of pain and was incredible. I felt better immediately and while I still had some tightness and pain this morning, it was an extraordinary improvement from the previous weeks. I am so grateful for the relief! I am not one that gets massages regularly, but I plan to see Angel again very soon. As a bonus, the staff was very professional and kind and the massage chairs in the waiting area were great. Thanks!
