I purchased a BMW 740i from Bertera Dodge Westfield in November 2025 and unfortunately my experience has been very disappointing. First, I was never informed during the sales process that the vehicle only came with one key. When I received the car, I specifically asked the salesperson whether there was a second key, and I was told that there was and that it would be mailed to my California address together with the license plate. However, only the license plate arrived. When I followed up later, the salesperson told me he had just discovered that there was no second key and that he had not checked the documents at the time of sale. This lack of accurate information was frustrating, especially since a replacement key for this vehicle is expensive. Second, the handling of the registration and license plate process was extremely delayed and poorly managed. The transaction was completed in November 2025, and I received the car in early December after shipping it to California. The dealership arranged a third party to process the license plate, but I did not receive my plate until late January 2026. As a result, I was unable to drive the car for nearly two months. Additionally, after more than a month of waiting, I was told that a California smog check was required before the plate could be issued -- something the dealership should have known and communicated from the beginning, especially when selling and shipping a vehicle out of state. At this point, I am simply requesting that the dealership provide the promised second key and resolve this matter properly. Buying a vehicle should be a straightforward and transparent experience, and unfortunately that was not the case here. read more

Beware. Dishonest sales practices. Listed MSRP higher than MSRP from RAM truck pricing site when doing build by thousands of dollars. They also showed fake invoice that said their profit was only 3 thousand dollars on a 65K truck when in reality it is about 15K plus 3-4 % holdback. I noticed an oil drip under my 2017 Willys and contacted Bertera immediately. Dan Smith was great and got me in for a diagnosis quickly and his team quickly figured out it was a faulty oil filter housing and got me conveniently scheduled for repair. Repairs were made today and I couldn't be happier. Never before have I had such a great overall experience at any dealership. The fact that they email you the actual narrated video(s) of all work done on your vehicle is incredible service. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!! read more

We have purchased three Jeeps from Bertera. A Wrangler and two Grand Cherokees. Our first two experiences with the team at Bertera went as typically as to be expected and Dan was very good at seeing us through the purchasing process. It was the third vehicle purchase that took an entirely different turn. The purchase process was typical and upon delivery after all the paperwork was completed and we now own the car, something went wrong. The car had a serious issue that caused it to idle and run as if it was not firing on all cylinders. This was due to a factory failure to inspect the car before shipping to the dealership. Long...long...long story short: the team at Bertera finally figured out what was needed to be done (a complete replacement of the wiring harness, replacement of the coil and a couple of the fuel injectors replaced). Dan said "Everything is fixable..." and though it was a lengthy series of attempts to get there it eventually was fixed and we now have our car. It's difficult to give dealerships and salespeople trust in this day and age, but I truly believe these people are doing what they can to build a good relationship with their customers and do the right thing. We will recommend them to our friends and when the time comes we will be back for our next Jeep. read more

I definitely did NOT receive excellent customer service in the Service Department nor did I get any type of feeling of it being hospitable. If your looking for a lack of personality and someone to make you feel less than- (this is without even actually seeing your vehicle) by all means go here. This is an update after a year or so. After posting my review, I was contacted by one of the owners, Bertera I. is his user name. He asked for my real name, which I provided... never heard anything back. Long time resident of West Springfield. In fact, grew up down the street from the Bertera's, and I conveyed that. Nothing. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Oh and the Tires For Life thing is a scam. It forces you to get virtually ALL maintenance done in their shop, including the air filter! What does the air filter, cabin filter etc have to do with tires? I lived in Virginia for a time and their tires for life means when your tires wear out, they get replaced. Doesn't matter who put the air filter in. It's just a way to get more money out of you. Steer clear of any Bertera stealership read more

This was my first time going to Bertera. I needed a new battery for both key fobs. The parts department was kind enough to change them out for me quickly, I also spoke with the service manager, I believe his name was Victor or Vincent (I'm not the best with names). He was a pleasure to work with. Even though I didn't buy my Pacifica from Bertera he agreed to take a look at my glove box, which had been damaged and he and another worker were able to fix it for me and I was out the door in only 15 minutes. I've had nothing but a nice, friendly, and honest experience dealing with Anissa and the staff at Bertera! Service included! A few years ago they got me into a loaded Renegade at my budget. When my lease was up a few months ago they got me into a beautiful 2020 Cherokee Trailhawk Elite which I'm am absolutely loving! The process of leasing/buying a car can be very stressful but Bertera seemed to make it as seamless as possible without all the stress. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST!!!! I called the "service department", to have some programming issues resolved and the gentlemen I was dealing with was not friendly at all. I made an appointment for the next day. Feeling as if he did not understand what I wanted fixed, I went down the same day at 1:00 pm to make sure I had a face to face conversation and clear up any misunderstanding early. Just to make sure the problem would be addressed. I spoke with a young lady, "Marisa". I left my truck then to give them extra time to work on it, if needed. I pick up my truck the next day...The problem is not fixed... I had to leave unknowing of this at the time, because I was late for an appointment. I paid $500, and thought everything was fixed. I was wrong. I called first thing in the morning and spoke with "Marisa", who I had gone over the issues when I went down for my face to face. She preceded to tell me a bunch of double talk and that I was not specific when I scheduled the appointment with her. I will never recommend nor will I ever go back there. Which it's too bad, because I actually went to school with Steve Bertera. What a joke...And what a rip off...There is no customer service nor concern for the customer. Just a money grab, and a bunch of employees collecting a check and trashing a companies name and reputation...I actually feel bad for Steve because it's his name on the building and overall his reputation. read more

What an AWFUL experience. I conversed via text to ensure that a deal would be reachable prior to driving down there and wasting mine and anyone else's time since I live over an hour and half from the dealership. Ciarra who I conversed with via text was extremely helpful. However, once I got there it was a complete nightmare. John the car salesmen was extremely rude. First thing he asks me is how do I think this would mathematically work. Umm lets see... I had already confirmed the payment and such would be within reach and already submitted a financial application online which Ciarra confirmed that everything would be all set via text. He would not let me even test drive the vehicle without agreeing to paying a much higher payment then I already pay. When I told him that it is not reachable and I was told it would be prior to coming here. His response was -- well you are going to pay now or pay later when your lease is up. Mind you I am a young woman who went there alone so therefore I feel he was trying to take advantage of me. Another awful statement he said was We wish your current vehicle was in better shape -- however they never even went outside to look at my vehicle but looked at it through a window and I just drove over and hour and a half so clearly it will get dirty since it was a rainy day. Although, the biggest issue was that they would not honor the online price and John told me the online prices are only for other dealerships and buyers across the country. So he tried to make me pay almost $2,000 more for a vehicle that I viewed online and initialed interest online. This was very slimy and I don't think that is even legal!! After looking at the vehicle once my father met me at the dealership, it was not actually worth the price they were asking - moisture in the headlight on a 2018, scratches down the entire side of the passenger side, dents in the front driver door, tires that will need to be replaced prior to snow fall; just awful! Lastly, I told John I would step outside and call my fiance and wait for my father to see what he says.....while doing this he decides hell with her, I will take on a new customer that wants to purchase a brand new jeep wrangler and off they went for a test drive when he still had my key to my vehicle! Maybe finish up one deal and return their belongings prior to taking on another deal. Such terrible service! I will never return to Bertera and will not recommend anyone purchase a car from there. And if they do, I highly recommend NOT purchasing anything from John, the grouchy, rude, lazy old man! read more

I have dealt with them since I bought my 2015 Jeep renegade . The service dept is the best. I usually deal with Victor. He is so friendly and courteous. Very accommodating. Keeps me up to date on the work being done. I have had dealings with others there too and they were all very nice. Each time when my Jeep is done Victor walks me to my Jeep. He definitely is an asset to Bertera's. I bought my Jeep from a sales woman and she was outstanding as well. She entertained my granddaughter while we were in the process of buying my renegade. Been going to Bertera Dodge for more than three years never had a problem with them. Recently I went in to get an oil change and inspection. Got the inspection with minor issue. After cashing out, I notice on on the slip I never got charged for an oil change. Go back a few days later on a Saturday when I have free time dropping off my car for the early bird drop box (times on the door saying open at 8:00am to 2:00pm) wrote on the slip will pickup at noon time. Never received received a phone call. So I call the dealership asked they told me the service department is closed on the weekends. Saturdays is the busiest time for service why are they closed on a Saturday. If you are going to change your times you should post it on the door. read more

Friends don't let friends buy or service their vehicles at Bertara I heard they had a new service team so i thought i'd try them again because they are the closet dodge dealer to me. Made appointment for a recall (1hr upgrade) and fix my tail light ( a smallsection of lights was out). They said 1-2 hrs so i asked them i was going next door (walmart) and to call me when done. Shop for a while hadn't heard from them so went to lunch. At lunch i noticed it was going on 3hrs. So i called them. Yes it was ready to pick up, when asked i did not get a call I didn't not get an answer. Recall was done. Tail light NOT done. They charged me $125 to look at tail light to determine needed to replace the whole thing $800 + I needed a cabin filter $90+ AND they did have the parts in stock.. I declined. Because i declined all over receipt it said it invalidated my "tire for life" warranty. Which they did not verbally mention and i don't' have because i found it to be a huge scam (and also why i stopped buying vehicles from them). I'm on my 3rd dodge All brand new. 1st one i purchased from them, and had issues with service. 2nd i bought from Artiolli, The 3rd one i went to Bertera, Sales guy was supposed to call me back Friday night... didn't by Sunday AM i was sick of waiting went online built my car, found an exact match, drove to Bollios and bought it. Any way, I've come to the conclusion that it HAS to be a management issues as over the years they have rotated the staff yet the service remains crappy as ever. If i could rate this lower than 1 star i would. I will continue to buy Dodges, I will NEVER go to Bertara again and i highly recommend you or your friends do not either! read more

THEY WILL TRY TO HUSTLE YOU. Do not agree to anything without asking around they are by far charging an incredible amount more and adding hidden fees wherever they can. Quoted 180 for a procedure(brake fluid flush and change) that some how came to 310. Like wise a filter change was going to somehow cost an additional 200$ (for what????) thank god I checked around because these guys are thieves. They'll add in 143$ labor charges to everything they do and tell you afterwards. Be warned go somewhere else read more

Horrible! We had our jeep gc towed to bertera Westfield due to warranty issue. We had it diagnosed at our mechanic who could've charged/ fixed for us but said it's covered under warranty and it needed to get to dealership. Bertera came up with phony issues that "didn't fix the problem" and charged us almost $900 until they finally admitted the problem was covered under warranty. Still made us pay the $900 for the "fixes" that weren't needed. One time I called and they told me "you're part is in and it'll be ready by the end of the day". When I asked a follow up question they put me on hold. Then came back saying "oh the part is on order and don't know when it'll be in" seriously? I've never ever felt more taken advantage of before by a dealer. We will never go here again. Stay away. I tell everyone I know to stay away from this place . Thanks for your stock response bertera. I can't even explain in words the amount of lying sneaky bullshit these people are capable of. From the service staff to the gsm, this place is full of dishonest and disloyal individuals. I understand dealerships, I have bought several new vehicles, but these people go out of their way to lie to your face. They are fine with unfair and fraudulent business practices. They say things like, "no it's ok don't worry about that right now" about taxes and fees and things you inquire about in the "fine print". Thank goodness I am able to stop and see the big picture or I may have been in some type of terrible situation. About 3 weeks ago my husband bought a used 2017 Jeep Compass. He put $4,000 down and we financed the rest. A week after having the car the engine light came on. Another week later he was driving with the ac on and freezing cold liquid came shooting out at his feet and the passenger's side got soaked. The car is at the dealership now getting fixed but we have to pay $100 deductible and they want $200 for the ac to be fixed! We just gave them all our money and now want us to pay for something that should have been fixed before they ever sold the vehicle!!! I've taken my van here for years and I've had minor issues until i recently took my van here for an issue that i was told was completely covered under warranty, after they installed the part they called and said there was actually a $100 fee they overlooked. The kept calling me so i paid the fee but then called the manager to discuss my frustration and he unprofessionally argued with me that i should have known it wasn't going to be free and he wasn't going to eat $100 because i didn't read paperwork. When i pointed out his employee did the same, he refused to offer any apology for their oversight. It was done on time, and Linda even got me a discount on my deductible with my insurance provider..I was unaware I was eligible for! I know a dear friend who bought a brand new 2015 Jeep and she now has 55tho miles and her rear end is blown and the dealer wont cover it. This poor single mom cant even drive now. Service department is incredibly inept. Not only did my vehicle not get repaired on time, I wasted multiple trips and a significant amount of time waiting. After all that, they informed me they ordered the wrong part and my vehicle would not be ready for up to an additional five days and for over $1200 more than they quoted me and wanted me to pay in advance for the parts they were ordering. I will now have to rent a car and add that expense to the growing money pile. I will never do business with these people ever again. read more

I just got my car less than 3 weeks ago ftom there and it has a certified warranty. The engine light came on after just a few days but went off by the time i brought it in to get it inspected but i told them. Well a couple days later it came on again. I was driving the other day and some hot liquid went through my shoe and burnt my foot. I pulled over and the driver side and passenger side floor is soaked. I called and they took my car in the next day. Not only are they charging me 100 deductible but they are charging me over $150 to fix it. Like i said ive had the car less than 3 weeks. Its a 2017. Shouldnt it have been fixed before they sold it? I wish I read these other reviews before going here. I called the manager yesterday at 11 and they said he is doing payroll he will call back shortly. I thought I will buy from a class "A" dealership to avoid the headache and hassle I Bought a 2014 certified pre-owned Chrysler Town and Country from Bertera dodge at Westfield Mass on March 13 2018 I was supposed to receive the vehicle on Mar 15 but the dealership told me that there was an issue with the windshield and they were waiting for some parts, I received the van on Mar 23, it failed the emission inspection, it had a leak in the transmission and nothing was done to the wind shield, everything seemed to be working fine although Bertera dodge at Westfield Mass won't let you test drive the vehicle for a distance. At April 5 I noticed that the transmission is slipping and there was an oil leak in my driveway I called the service center they told me they cant see the vehicle before Apr 9 I took it to them they said that it engine oil this time from the engine cooling and received it on Apr 16 Because they did not have the parts and they told me that they flashed the transmission and the slip will go away after 100 mile of drive. I took the van again at Apr 20 because the slip still exists after 150 miles but the service center does not want to admit that the transmission is slipping I noticed oil drops again on May 5, I am going to take it to a different service for inspection I will have to pay extra but I want to show them a prove of the issues in this vehicle, out of the last 55 days I bought this van I only had it for about 35 days. The sales department will call you everyday before you buy the car but once you buy it and you have an issue they wont even answer your calls, please save yourselves the hassle and buy from descent dealerships read more

My experience with Bertera Dodge was very unsatisfactory and unpleasant. My wife and i returned a lease vehicle and did not want to lease another vehicle from Bertera because i leased from another dealership in Connecticut. After waiting for someone to help us the salesman that we did the lease with walked by us as we didn't even exist. Once we had there attention my wife and i were approached by the manager with a very bad attitude DEMANDING the vin number from my new lease to have the disposition fee removed. I leased through Chysler Capital again so they removed the fee which he knew by looking at my report .Once we got the number for him the way he handled the situation was not good at all !!.the reason i returned the lease back to Bertera was i still had time and miles left on the vehicle so why not use it .He was not happy that i dropped it off to him.dealing with him im glad i dropped it off at his dealership..... read more

These guys are scam artists at best! We bought a used Jeep here in July 2017. What a terrible experience! The sales man was great, new kid, kinda had a deer in headlights look to him but a nice kid. The business manager was very nice too. He actually found me a better rate then what I was pre-qualified for on my own and ended up saving me a lot of money, so I thought ok so far so good, these guys are ok. Then the BS starts! The sales manager is literally "Herpies in a Suit"! What a slime ball! He's an arrogant ass that come off as pompous and assuming. The general manager is worse! Do not stop here! Drive anywhere else, it's worth going out of your way trust me. Our used Jeep was supposed to be "Jeep Certified Per-Owned", which means that before they sell it, someone was supposed to have gone through the Jeep and inspected 125 items, fixed what's needed, etc. Although they advertised that it was Certified on their website, it wasn't. In fact there was a headlight out when I went to pick it up. They said sorry can't inspect it with a headlight out, we'll order a part and you can get it in a few days. Here's the kicker, when I called to ask how there could possibly be a headlight out of a Jeep that was just inspected and certified, they said, ready?...."We don't actually inspect them. If we know they have been serviced here we just check the boxes and certify them as is." Per the General Manager, who is a real mental midget. So nice that he let me in on one of their many scams! This place is a joke! The Bertera's sold out long ago. This place is actually owned by Indians or Muslims now that don't give a F about customers or service or anything else except money. The same owner owns the Westfield location, the West Springfield location and Metro Jeep in Chicopee! Stay away from all of them, we learned the hard way. Jeeps are great, we've bought many of them, but it's worth traveling up to Northampton or going to Enfield. Oh and the tires for life scam...it's a scam. The Jeep needs tires already. They are factory originals with 50K on them. Definitely worn out. I was going for my oil change to keep it serviced and get the new tires and was shown the "Fine Print" that says " No new tires until after 15K miles after purchase". Nice scam. Bought a Dodge Dart SXT Rallye 5/10/2018. Initially had an awesome experience with the sales team. Things changed however when the passenger side tire sensor went out. Made an appointment ;(Victor was very nice) and went in to have it serviced. The time service took was a bit long (4 hours 30 min) but we spent time talking with the sales team. The problem arose when my rim was damaged in service. My fiance noticed the aluminum rim was bent slightly on one side and scratched on the other , I work 60 hours a week and we could not deal with it that day. My fiance called the service department :Victor told us come on in we will see what we can do. We arrived at Dodge in Westfield and the parts manager Jeremy district manager comes out greets us slight attitude already. My fiance explains why we're there and before Jeremy even has a good look at the rim he starts saying oh I think that was done by a pot hole. My fiance replied she (meaning me) drives the highway to and from work everyday do you know what kind of damage that would do at that speed, it would not be a bend. Jeremy continues to be rude and condemning blaming us for the damage. Jeremy claimed to have worked in service for 25 years yet he didn't even know just by looking at them that they were aluminium rims and not steel. Needless to say we left with no help and completely disgusted by the manner of the parts manager Jeremy. I now know why a customer was screaming at Jeremy the day I had my TPMS fixed. Will never go there again. Clearly the tires for life program is not a good idea. I would highly recommend buying a car from the sales team but as for your Service ;save your car , time and your stress health please go elsewhere. read more

4/27/15 - How does this place stay in business? Rude, dirty, and ineffective. We went in to have a check engine light checked and the emergency brake checked (granted we did not buy the Jeep from them), but we were looking to purchase a second....we will NEVER purchase it from them.) When we checked in they told us there was a recall on the power windows. We had absolutely no problem with the windows. They were flawless. They would not let us wait for the car. We had to leave it there all day! When they told me it was done at 3PM, they said I was too late for the courtesy shuttle. I picked the car up that evening. They were SURPRISED that I wanted a copy of the paperwork to take with me. Are you kidding? They charged $120 dollars for an "UPDATE" to the check engine light and diagnosis. BULLSHIT! the light was back on by the morning. They didn't do anything more than reset the light. They are lazy and untrustworthy. Not only that, the windows now squeek! And Chatter! some fix on the wiring they did. I now have to get the check engine light checked again! And someone needs to fix their recall work for the Power Windows. What a joke. When I called back (stupid me) to make an appointment the Service rep (some guy who was unhelpful to Aimee when she was swamped the morning we dropped the car off) was RUDE and BOTHERED by my call. He told me I had to leave it there AGAIN. There was no way for him to work on it while I waited. Finally occurred to me that I don't HAVE to go back to the Rude, DIRTY and Obnoxious place again. How could they possibly fix something! They didn't do it right the first time! Then I read some other YELP reviews .... found out I should have read them sooner! I was not alone. This place SUCKS!!! I left my 2017 Jeep Rubicon for service at the service department to fix previous damage on my navigation screen caused by the service dept. while my Jeep was serviced for USB issues. They said it would take a while so I left my Jeep there while I went to work. I later noticed parts of my Rubicon were swapped (rear back of the Jeep) and a tool was left on the back of the car when all the work was to be performed on my navigation (which by the way does not work after service). I brought it up to service manager Carlos which said he would replace the parts that were swapped. I told him I did not wanted new ones that I wanted my parts back because I want to be able to trust the place I leave my vehicle. He said he would check cameras but he would not be able to get my own parts back. He said he verified with the sales department that my car had those parts and he would replace it for me and apologized for the incident. Next day I tried getting a hold of Carlos since he never got back to me about looking at the cameras. I was advised by a friend to file a police report for what happened. I bring the police report to the dealership and give it to my service advisor because Carlos was at lunch. She said "I thought you were getting that part replaced" and I replied "no, it was my navigation" and she said "oh right". I leave and come back later to talk to Carlos the service manager and he said "you went a step further, I cannot longer help you, you have to speak to the general manager" which I did. The general manager was very arrogant and denied my Jeep having those parts (after Carlos admitted it did). He said to take him to court for it. I could not say what was on my mind at that moment because I had my 5 year old daughter with me and also I am a professional. I know better not to get down to his level so I left. What made me so frustrated is that no only they violated my trust in them, but that the dealer retaliated against me because I excersice my right to file a police report. Honestly is not even about the parts they swapped is the disappointed of knowing now that I can't dropped off my vehicle for service because things like this would happen. They would not even allow me to speak to the person that service my vehicle, I know he would not be able to look at me in the eyes. I am getting my vehicle inspected to make sure they are no other parts missing. I just want to let people know so they don't go through the same experience. After all is their lost since I am the kind of person that changes vehicles every two years (I get bored) so they don't only lost future sales from me, but from my family, friends and my clients. Bought a used vehicle from them. Horrible dealership! First off let me tell you if you see the price on the internet, add $1750 to the price. They claim internet prices are cash only, no test drive, no financing, no detailing or cleaning etc. And they are still going to add $500 dealer fee and all the title registry fees etc. They don't tell you about the $1750 until later in the negotiation so be ready up front. Then when you go in to finance they are going to add a warranty and GAP protection to your loan so make sure you take it out. So after all this, I realize a couple days after I had picked it up that my left marker light bulb was burnt out. I call the salesman, tell him I looked it up online and you have to pop the grill off and its really cold out can he have them put a bulb in. He says "bring it by before 4 we'll take care of it". I drive there (about a half hour) and when I get there the service gal says, it may require the bumper to be taken off to get the bulbs in but they will take a look. I say "no I watched it on you tube and you have to pop the grill out, but its only clipped in and should be easy for a mechanic," (I even bought the bulbs and brought them with me mind you) "I would do it myself but its really cold out and I just bought it". Shame on me I should have checked all the bulbs I guess before I bought it, but who would think? Anyway sure enough she comes back and says the whole front bumper and fascia have to be taken off to change the bulbs. Again I disagreed and said I watched it be done. No she said, we checked with Nissan and the bumper has to come off, what do you want to do? I said I want the bulb fixed. So she calls the salesman over, he says it would be $89 for them to change the bulb. I told him to get the Manager. The Manager comes out and says we can't do it, it already passed inspection. I said yes but your the one that did the inspection! (should I have been there and supervised the safety inspection? I guess so) He says the service and sales department are separate and I can't make them change it for free and the car is already sold. I asked him if any part of that extra $1750 went towards unexpected things like this and of course NO. "What about the 90 day guarantee" I asked. Oh no that wouldn't cover this and if it did it would be $100 deductible so it would cost me more. I told them they were horrible and would never see me again, and I would do my best to keep everyone from having to go through anything like this. So here I am on Yelp, I don't normaly do reviews but if I can keep someone from going through this its well worth it. So please save yourself some head aches and go elsewhere where they have good reviews and you can trust them. P.S. I drove home put a heavy jacket on, went out with my how to video and had this done in 40 minutes. As I told them, the bumper did NOT have to come off. Now that Ive done it I can do it again quicker if I need to. Imagine they lost my business for life because they wouldn't change a light bulb! Idiots. I hope this helps someone. read more
