Salmon Dinner
Lizeth S.

I love everything about Bernini and have been for the last 20 years: $3 Martinis with Skyy Vodka and half off main courses till 7PM.. Bernini's is a staple in Ybor and in my heart. The blue cheese stuffed olives give me life here for my buck and the chefs in the kitchen know exactly what they're doing. Salmon and steak ALWAYS cooked perfect. There's ample room and a cute bar to sit at if there's room. First come first serve.

The happy hour is one of the best in Tampa! $4 martinis?? Can't beat that! The service is lively and top tier. Special attention is paid to each and every guest. The ambiance is quiet, and relaxing. Great for groups or for a post work wind down. The food is definitely more than enough for your money! I was tipsy and full. They're definitely worth checking out and having a time!

We stopped in without reservations and luckily they had room for 4. The atmosphere is very nice, except that the air conditioning was blowing on us constantly and since it was cold outside it wasn't necessary. The menu was perfect for me as I love Italian food. There is a nice wine menu, as well as appetizers and salads. I started with a glass of wine, which was a good pour. I ordered the soup of the day, which was an herbed chicken and the gnocchi. After a few minutes she came back and said they had no gnocchi so I settled on the lasagna. After asking for bread, it finally came and was delicious. My soup came piping hot and was fantastic! So much flavor and it warmed me up as the A/C was ridiculously cold. Our 4 meals arrived at once and my lasagna looked great. And guess what? It was great! The sauce was super tasty and this was veal lasagna and had great layers of everything. Service wasn't great, but food and atmosphere was fantastic. I saw the pizzas and they looked wonderful. I will be back.

Atmosphere - The restaurant has a lively atmosphere. There is seating on two levels and a large bar on the first level. My one complaint is that the tables are extremely close to one another. Service - our server was friendly and helpful. However, attentiveness lacked a bit, which I would attribute to a very busy evening. Food - the menu is not huge, but there are enough options that most people should be able to find something that appeals to them. I ordered the burrata caprese salad as a starter and it was very good. The burrata was ample and extremely fresh and creamy. I had the veal lasagna for my entree. The dish was served hot and tasted very good. While I would have liked more cheese, the pasta sauce was excellent and made up for the minimal amount of cheese. Overall - I am a big fan of Italian food and this restaurant measures up well in comparison to other restaurants in the Tampa area.

They have $3 sky martinis from 11:30 to 7:00 daily. They are all so delicious I can't decide what my favorite was. I loved the espresso martini and the blood orange cosmo martini. We sat at the bar and got great service. We watched the pizza station make homemade pizza the whole time we had to order one. They all looked so good it was hard to choose. We decided on the salsiccia which was a sausage pizza with tomatoes. It was so delicious. The place smelled good, had clean bathrooms, and white table cloths. We will be back to try the pasta.

My favorite place for happy hour and dinner in the area. They have the best martinis, and a great happy hour deal. The food is always delicious too, especially love the blackened salmon and their house made bread. Everyone who works there is so kind, remembers you and makes you feel welcome. Just such a fun spot all around. Mackenzie is especially wonderful! Thank you Berninis.

$3 SKYY martinis everyday from 11:30am until 7pm!

We stumbled upon Bernini while looking for a place for dinner before a show down the street at the Ritz. The menu posted outside advertised $3 SKYY martinis and 1/2 off entrees, which sounded like a great deal to me. The inside is nice in a classy, old school kind of way. It was very busy and loud inside. We sat at the bar, and service was great. The bartender handled the busyness with ease. The cocktails and food were great, and the happy hour prices made for an upscale dining experience at a reasonable price.

We visited for Mother's Day and were pleasantly surprised by their special offer, $3 cocktails and a complimentary butter cake for every mother. Beyond the promotion, the service was excellent, the food was flavorful, and the ambiance was unique and inviting. Who doesn't like to each in a former bank which adds a distinctive charm to the experience. We ordered the Di Parma pizza and the Cigar City Chop salad. Both were delicious, with the pizza being a standout, I highly recommend it. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'm looking forward to returning soon.

Ended up at this restaurant while on a trip to Tampa with my friend. We were looking for a happy hour and happened upon this gem. They offered $3 martinis until 7pm with so many choices. We got there around 6pm but our waitress came by often and we were able to try a few different flavors which were all good. I had the gnocchi and it was delicious. Happy hour also included half off entrees which was even better. This place was so good and service was top notch we came back the next day! Definitely worth a visit if in the area.

We have passed by Bernini while walking through ybor a few times and finally decided to try it today. I am so glad we did! The food and drinks were delicious, especially the bread. Our server, James, went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. He was the best! We will definitely be back!

Shrimp Florentine Risotto
Isany M.

I had the shrimp Florentine risotto and it tasted amazing. The dish was perfectly seasoned and came together beautifully. I was there for a birthday dinner with about 10 of us, and our waiter was still very attentive. He even gave us a heads up about the happy hour deals that were still going on, which was nice. The cocktails were amazing, and the place has a classy, elegant vibe inside. Overall, it was a great first-time experience!

Stopped in at Bernini for lamb chops but ended up trying the crispy duck and the pork osso bucco. The pork was nice and tender. Juicy made to perfection. Lamb chops medium and seasoned so well. They also make the best raspberry lemon drops. The service was exceptional. Our waitress constantly checked on us and made sure to grab us to go boxes way before we could finish because it was a good amount of food. The ambiance is good for date nights or just even a casual bite to eat. I also suggest going during happy hour and keep the drinks flowing

Pork Osso Bucco
Linh D.

One of the best happy hours. 4pm-7pm, 1/2 off entrees and apps and $3 Sky martinis. We've had almost everything on the menu. My favorites are the Pork Osso Bucco, dry aged bbq pork tomahawk, and ravioli. And we always get several strawberry gimlet martinis.

Bernini Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Bernini

Do they have happy hour specials on other cocktails besides martinis?

They have a few other drinks on the HH menu along with the Martinis.

Do they do takeout orders?

Yes

What is the dress code?

Anything from casual to smart causal depending on the time and occasion. I wore heels, jeans and a pretty top, but it was happy hour. I saw people trickling in for dinner who wore dresses and heels.

That is what I was looking for, and that is what I got. Up first, I tried a $15 Grapefruit Moon. The bartender warned me if I don't like grapefruit, I won't like this drink. Holy smokes he wasn't joking. I was hoping the mezcal would cancel out some of the grapefruit, but it really didn't. Super duper strong grapefruit taste. Then, I tried a $15 Martini. It's a pretty standard dirty martini. I liked it, and it was fine. Good to see there is a place in Ybor with real cocktails, and not cheap awful cocktails served in a plastic cup. I was in Tampa for work and stumbled upon this spot, and from the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely welcomed by the staff. For food, I ordered the Steak and Holly, which was packed with flavor. After I had finished the steak, I mentioned to my colleague how much juice and seasoning was still left at the bottom of the bowl. Unbeknownst to me, the bartender overheard and came out with a bowl of rice so I could finish it all. That small, thoughtful gesture really stood out. Special shout-out to the bartender, Jesus--he really made the experience. I also tried several specialty cocktails--many made on the spot based on the flavors and alcohol I requested. The bartenders were attentive, creative, and clearly passionate about what they do. Later that evening, I came back for the "Sunday School" experience, and the vibe completely delivered. The ambiance screamed lounge-meets-speakeasy, and the space felt welcoming and inclusive. Have you ever been blessed by stumbling upon a gem while traveling? Because that's exactly what this was. But other than being one scary venue, Spookeasy has food and drinks that are worth hanging around for while you take in the spookiness of the place. A full coffee bar, they already have my name on it, but they also feature sandwiches, snacks, salads, and other bar food. While I came here for a Death Cafe event, I decided to make myself comfortable by getting myself some food and lattes. Thankfully, the place serves up food that makes a visit here worth more than just a quick look around. I got myself a hot marshmallow flavored latte, and a breakfast sandwich. The latte was delicious, and I loved the marshmallow flavor I got with it to give it a more unique taste perfect for winter. It gave me just the right kick while I waited for my event to start. The breakfast sandwich seems simple enough, bacon, eggs, cheese on toast, but each ingredient was thoughtfully prepared to make one filling meal. I can tell the egg is fresh cracked and the bacon was perfectly crispy, all held together by two slices of thick toast. I also loved the fries that came with it, well seasoned with cheese sauce AND melted cheese, so I was pretty occupied and well fed during my meeting. The staff here is great, laid back, and super-friendly to talk to. They have a good vibe about them that makes me want to come back to haunt--er visit them, haha, Death Cafe meeting or not.

He was too busy on the lounge side dropping it like it was hot and helping the bottle girls "hold" the sign. We stood at the host stand upon entry for a while until someone went to get him from the other side. The food was just "ok". For the price of the food I expected more. I had the lemon pepper honey wings and the chicken and French toast. The wings were not cooked through and served in a bowl which made it very difficult to eat. It came with 2 cornbread muffins that were dense and very dry. The French toast was great. I opted for the one with peaches and icing. It was great. It was served with chicken tenders. Again, in a bowl, which made it very difficult to cut, as I had to dig in the bowl. They were ok, a little on the dry side, the breading was falling off but they were edible. The drinks were flowing and the vibe was good. No complaints there. Would I go back??? Yes, I'll probably try something different on the menu. I feel like if the service was a bit better, more attention to detail on the food and the plating of food was different it would have earned 5 stars. But I had an overall nice time.

Sadly, they do NOT offer their fabulous cocktails upstairs here, even though there is a bar. If you want to drink something stellar, you will need to walk yourself back down the two flights of stairs, and get it yourself. Instead, they have instructions on each table of how to order a standard cocktail on-line; you choose your basic booze, then your basic mixer, and a cocktail server will bring it out to you and take your credit card. Efficient, but very boring. The venue is small, but the sound was good, with the exception of the two magpies behind me screaming and nattering the whole time. While she was pleasant, the service felt a bit disorganized and it took quite a while to receive our drinks, which was surprising given how few people were there at the time. The Food: The flavors are definitely there--tasty and with a nice Caribbean kick--but the composition of the dishes left me disappointed. I ordered the Oxtail Shepherd's Pie ($35), and while the flavor was good, it was overwhelmingly mashed potatoes and corn bread. For that price, I expected more than just a few small pieces of oxtail and a tiny portion of cooked greens and onions. The Verdict: If you love carbs and cornbread, you'll be in heaven. However, the menu feels like it needs a modern touch. There is only one salad option, and the meat-to-starch ratio is way off. I'd love to see more protein-focused options and fresh greens added to the menu to balance out the heavy sides. Great for a drink and the "wow" factor of the hidden door, but the value for the food isn't quite there yet. Also a lot of fried food, which I rarely eat.

When you strip it down to the proteins and toppings you actually like, the cost savings are real. In a place like Ybor, where prices can creep up quickly, that matters. Now, the à la carte menu can feel a little confusing at first glance. It is not the most straightforward ordering system if you are just breezing through.
