During the Fourth of July weekend, the couple residing in my rental unit departed for a vacation,…read moregranting me permission to enter their home for preventive maintenance. Upon inspection, I discovered that the water heater was not functioning, as there was no hot water available in the unit. To address this issue, I contacted the RHEEM customer service number displayed on the water heater. A technician promptly returned my call and attempted to guide me through various troubleshooting steps to reignite the unit; however, these efforts proved unsuccessful. The technician ultimately suggested that a specific component had likely malfunctioned and provided me with a list of certified Rheem technicians in the Chicago area. Unfortunately, the Rheem technician I reached out to from that list did not respond to my inquiries. I have had great luck with businesses on Yelp that received a large number of favorable reviews over a long period of time. For that reason, I decided to contact Fast Plumbing 247. I was fortunate to speak with a plumber named Mac, who returned my call within a matter of minutes. He requested that I send him photographs of the water heater's model number and the unit itself. After reviewing the images, Matt promptly called me back and provided clear, step-by-step instructions on how to restore the water heater to working order. Remarkably, his guidance proved effective, and I was able to resolve the issue. Once again, the unit has hot water. What truly stood out during my interaction with Mac was not only his willingness to share his technical knowledge but also his remarkable patience. I struggle with even simple tasks of this nature, and Mac's calm demeanor made the process significantly easier. He meticulously explained how to remove the guard to access the pilot light window, advised me on the best positioning to view this awkwardly placed window, and guided me through the steps to relight the pilot light and restore the water heater's functionality. Thanks to Matt's expertise, I am able to enjoy the holiday weekend without further complications. Based on this experience with Mac, it is evident that the plumbers at Fast Plumbing 247 are not only responsive and technically skilled but also honest in their dealings. I fully intend to rely on their services for any future plumbing needs and wholeheartedly recommend this company to others.

They arranged a same-day inspection and moved appointments around to complete the repair the very next day. Kurt and Antonio were professional, knowledgeable and thorough. They clearly explained the problem, completed the work efficiently and restored proper drainage to both units. Vickie and the office team were also extremely helpful and responsive throughout the entire process. We own and manage multiple properties, and after this experience, we will gladly use Rocket Plumbing again and add them to our preferred vendor list. Highly recommended!

The service team was able to fit me in same day by putting me on standby. Nick was able to diagnose, stop the leak, inspect that the leak had done no further damage, and ultimately get the water heater working within 5 minutes of his arrival. Better yet, he said it was a simple fix and did not charge me, but just asked that I keep them at the top of my list for my next job! Very friendly and presentable all the way. He also assessed my heater and said I probably had about another two years to go before needing to replace, and gave me a written quote for a new water heater and to replace the saddle valve with an angle stop. The angle stop cost was a bit high, but the water heater replacement was very reasonable (just being fair). I am definitely going to reach out to them for my next plumbing job.

The HVAC check seemed like everything was fine, but they used it as a sales op to try and sell me new furnace and humidifier, which was working fine at the time (and continues to function 4 years later). Thankfully their 1-year VIP service was the most valuable part of it, because one of the joins for the new water heaters started leaking again almost 12 months later. However, when they came out, they couldn't get the water main to close in our unit, so they quoted me to replace it as an additional cost instead. We said no, and gradually loosened the water main valve to the point where we could get it to close. We believe it was debris from the water main for the building being shut off multiple times for other work recently. Once we resolved that issue, we were able to get them to actually repair their failing original work at no cost. Not sure I would recommend.

Communication with First Chicago, as well as updates the day of were great - they let me know when they were coming, and showed up pretty close to that time window, which is all you can ask for! Alek and Chris came out to address the issue, and showed us what was going on, as well as why it happened. They were great to talk with, as well as educate us a bit on plumbing, as this is an area both my wife and I are not experts in at all. The fix was prompt, and I feel very relieved and overly satisifed by the job they did, and how quickly they did it. I can't speak too much to value, not knowing too much about the cost of these projects. However, I can say that I was charged the amount that I was initially quoted, which is always appreciated. To me, the amount I paid for the work they did, as well as peace of mind that any potential leaks are addressed, was acceptable. I will absolutely recommend First Chicago Plumbing to my neighbors and friends if they have any issues with plumbing. Thank you Team! A+
