UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW This is the fastest the owner has…read moreever responded to me, unfortunately it is thru yelp to try and make himself look responsive and understanding both which are not accurate in my experience and he still has not communicated to me directly as i have been texting him with no response. That's all i was looking for and couldn't get it for months leading to this review. For all reading this review and his response, there is nothing in my review that is false or misleading, all the order of the events are 100% true with dates included, yes there was a designer on the project but that person is no longer working on the project. Builders Direct is still not giving me an update on where the product is, if its been manufactured and their communication has left a lot to be desired. Do.Not.Use.Them. **UPDATE #2** The owner has again for the second time responded promptly today, now that this matter is public on Yelp. For context on the original issue, please see the review attached to the photos, as the character limit here does not allow me to repost it in full. For the record: Zoltan and I have been in direct communication for over a month regarding this order. Response times to my messages have consistently required repeated follow-up, often spanning several days. Today, by contrast, I received two responses within hours -- coinciding with this review's visibility on Yelp. It's hard to understand why he would continue to fight this review instead of just resolving this issue at hand. As of today, I again had to initiate contact to determine the status of our order. Our prior conversation, two weeks ago, indicated a two day build time with delivery scheduled for July 6th. No update was provided proactively; I have had to request status updates at every stage of this process. Our showroom remains incomplete pending delivery of this single panel. I have requested a direct phone call with the owner to resolve this matter today several times. That request has not been accommodated. I would note that a public response on Yelp is not a substitute for direct communication with the customer or an end user where the items are being installed, particularly when that communication was requested in advance of this review being posted and has been accommodated throughout the process until they couldn't resolve the main issue. Then they are not able to communicate with me, seems convenient. I will continue to document this matter with photos as needed so other consumers can evaluate this company's communication practices for themselves. For reference, three separate customers approached us today for door and window needs; based on our experience, we directed them to other providers, including Priority Windows and Doors. All it would take is a simple phone call from Zoltan to help resolve this issue, he would rather just try and save face. I will update you consumers if anything changes but until then I stand by my assessment of do.not.use.them.

Buyers Beware: Faulty La Cantina Door and No Accountability from Builders Direct San Diego…read more We purchased several high-end doors for our new home in Santa Monica, CA, including a very expensive La Cantina collapsible sliding glass wall system from Builders Direct in San Diego. At the time of purchase, Builders Direct recommended an installer for the project, Randy Berger. Unfortunately, from the moment of installation, the La Cantina door has never functioned properly. It has never closed or sealed correctly, despite multiple attempts to address the issue. Soon after installation, we were broken into, and we strongly believe the faulty installation or manufacturing defect contributed to this incident. Builders Direct has refused to take responsibility, despite having referred the installer themselves. There is now serious concern that the La Cantina door may also have a manufacturing defect. As we've researched this further, we've come across numerous complaints from other homeowners who have experienced similar problems with La Cantina doors, with little to no support or accountability from the manufacturer. We want to be clear: we are reasonable, honest people who made a good faith purchase and trusted the professionals involved. But this experience has been extremely disappointing and stressful. We caution others to be very careful when purchasing La Cantina products and working with Builders Direct in San Diego. We are currently exploring legal options, including a potential class action. If you have had similar issues with La Cantina doors or Builders Direct, please reach out. Consumers deserve better.

Their thoroughness so impressed my general contractor, he told me he wished they worked for HIM! For some recent home repairs, painters had used blue 3M masking tape to tape Ram Board down throughout, to protect the wood floor. Weeks later, when the Ram Board was finally removed, I could see stripes of of sticky tape residue on my lovely wood floor. Aargh!! I tried several home methods, but it just would not come off. I didn't want to risk damaging the floor with steel wool. So I called Solana Flooring. The owner, Mik, came over that very day to take a look. The next day, two of his workers arrived, inspected the areas, and applied a specialized, professional oil product, rubbing the areas with a soft cloth. Deni and George arrived on time on 7/13 and completed the job on 7/17. They are highly skilled and did an amazing job. We were impressed with their work ethic and respect for our property. She's super honest as well and doesn't try to upsell. She also has great suggestions and has made our lives dramatically easier. Ferguson has so much to choose from, including hundreds, maybe thousands of items not on the floor, but in different colors, sizes and formats. Even their signature line is amazing - and so well priced. Plus most everything is under warranty and if an item gets damaged upon receipt or in transit, they'll stand behind it. I love that.
