The website does not mention this and the manufacturers website does not mention this. I would not have purchased this kit had I known. They do not accept returns on suspension parts so now I am out 800 bucks. Here is the conversation with AJcycles customer service: ME: Hello, It looks like I misunderstood the product description, I thought these shocks were direct fit without modification, I also did not realize that these were racing specific. Is there an option to return them? I still have the original package/box and these were not installed ( because I do not have the tools to do so) AJcycles: These require matching of the inner tube (all cartridge kits do) to allow for the cartridge to operate. These are not racing specific, cartridge kits are sold for all bikes. We do not accept returns on any suspension products. Sorry. Brian A&J Cycles again the modification was not on the product page or the manufactures website. It was only listed on the very vague instructions inside the box along with a very large reminder that this kit was for "RACING ONLY"
