It doesn't offer a big waiting room with nice amenities or free coffee. It isn't fancy or impressive to look at but it is owned by a guy who is an old school grease monkey who loves cars, trucks and tools. Kevin clearly loves what he does and takes pride in it. He has become a family friend and he has a loyal local following because he is the real deal. He knows his stuff and will happily answer your questions. If he doesn't handle what you need done he knows just who you need to see. A referral from Kevin to another business is solid. He has never steered us wrong. I advise making an appointment because Kevin is one very busy guy.

Mechanics are like a lottery, you pays your money and you takes your chances! Well, Advanced Auto…read moreis a safe bet. Kevin is a guy who makes his living fixing cars. No gas, no bodega, just a mechanic. He'll fix what's wrong and stand behind his work without nickle and diming you to death. On a number of occasions I've brought one of my cars in thinking it was something major only to have it be something minor, easily fixed and costing $10 or sometimes nothing at all. He'll tell you if it something he's not equipped to handle and recommend somebody who is. You really can't ask for more in a mechanic!

I have a minor incident and had to replace the front bumper and grill. Given the popularity of this auto body shop, it wasn't the easiest to get the earliest appointment. However once repairs started, they were completed promptly and the final product is similar to getting a car off the lot (freshly cleaned and washed). Quality of repairs is high, service is detailed and informed and reasonable for quality. I am more than happy to recommend to other Yelp folks and personal friends!

I've been their customer every since... let's see... early 2000s. Was sad to see their original location close, and I thought the world was over and I sojourned in the wilderness looking for half as trustworthy mechanics in the Fort Lee area... until on my recent first trip to CostCo Teterboro I saw a mirage to my right... The Korean Flag. On an Automechanic shop. I rubbed my eyes in disbelief for a second and stared again - and there it was - the proud Korean flag + automechanic combo, which could only harken back to my memories of seeing the same in the original location closer to Palisades Park side of the same Rt. 46. I literally stopped by right away and there they were, like Professor X and the Beast in the X-Men movies quietly deliberating on plans to kick Magneto's ass, Mr. Kang and Mr. Choi(?) the owner - fine gents jus' doing their thang. Owner recognized me despite 10+ years having passed. As did Mr. Kang who immediately gave me the lowdown on my problem with battery and installed a new one, and my oft-dead car issue that plagued me for several months... solved. Other mechanics told me it could be alternator issue so they didn't want to sell me battery just to have the car dead the next day or so, and Mr. Kang just explained the $h%# out of those dudes to the stratosphere. BAMN. PEW-PEW! KAZAAM!!! Hasta la vista baby. All my clouds of confusion and worry - GONE with the wrench. *cue the scene of gunslinger holstering his smoking wrench back* "But Mr. Kang, what about what they told me about my timing belts that are so old? Any dangers?" Another lightning-fast Bruce Lee-esq explanation why I need not worry. BAMN! POW! 1-inch punched outta hell to the Andromedas. And this was all done within a few efficient minutes close to their closing time. I didn't have anymore fearful issues to inquire about. A nice handshake and a knowing smile, and a promise to return, and return the hell I shall. I don't have to second guess myself anymore on any more mechanical issues which I have plenty with my 2004 Acura TSX until I can get a new one after this ridiculous car inflation subsides. And then some with my new car, I can be sure counted to come ONLY to Tech Power. Screw dealers - I ain't going anywhere else and I don't need your watered-down coffee. If you've been struggling finding honest mechanics who're super experienced, can and WILL take time to EXPLAIN what they're doing, give you REASONABLE price, and CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS... look no further - come to Tech Power, your car's promised land foretold in the Car Bible. You really can't go wrong here. Or, if you wanna continue paying exorbitant price while feeling somewhat important sipping watered-down coffee... keep going to your dealership. :) (half joking, half not)

They told me they charge $45/hour, and that would be the amount for the inspection if I decided not to go through. They told me they'd give me a call before fixing anything. I left my car yesterday afternoon. They didn't call, so I did this morning. They told me they fixed the car and I owe them $240.75. When I told them they were supposed to give me a call beforehand and the charge was too much (I said even PepBoys gave me a better price), they told me all the problems my car had and how hard it was to fix it etc. One of the mechanic was very rude, he said "next time go to PepBoys, I don't want customers like you". The other one explained they charged $90 per hour, and the rest was for the rotor. They literally charged me twice as much & yelled at me when I didn't accept it. So if you are a customer who doesn't like to overpay, go to somewhere else (maybe PepBoys)
