Came here with a large party around dinner time for a going away party for a coworker. At the time of me making this review the dinner is $35.99 a person. Overall, I'd give this spot a 3.5-4 out of 5. The meats were decent but it didn't particularly blow me away. But the service here is okay and the price is pretty reasonable compared to other places. Anyways... try it out if you like. :)

I went at 2:29 and just missed the lunch deal which was a bummer! The food was honestly okay but they give you very good portions which get you. You can get half the portion of meat which is nice. The marinated pork and beef was our fav. The server was very nice and changed our grill very often. There are plenty of seats dispose it being a friday

I hadn't tried this place previously because of the low reviews but i was pleasantly surprised. Pretty reasonable prices for 2 hr all you can eat and the sauces were nice. The service was super fast and friendly. It wasn't too smoky and they had some tvs playing K-pop songs.

the vibe in here is chill, theres a lot of seating but be ready to come out smeelllliiinnn like meat bc they dont have the best ventilation. i always come at night and go home right after so i dont mind hehe. service is good, super kind and they're very attentive of when you need a grill swap. the price is lower than other kbbq's i've been to!! and the meat is good! the spicy versions of the bulqogi and brisket are soo yummy they make the meat more flavored/soft. def coming backkk :3

Contrary to what most reviews were saying, the service was pretty good. The servers changed our grill about 2-3x without us having to ask and they checked on us a couple of times. The price for dinner was about 30$ per person and I thought that was a bit pricey for the small selection of AYCE. I was kinda bummed that the soup and steamed egg were only add-ons so they were an extra charge. The pork belly was very fatty and had little meat. The brisket was cut in very big slices, which I liked, and the bulgogi was chopped into smaller pieces and marinated well. I really loved the fact that they offer a cheese fondue dip because I haven't been to another kbbq place with that option.

Came here with my husband on a recent Monday evening. We were seated right away. There were several tables with customers but it wasn't at all crowded. There are a lot of screens situated around the restaurant playing k-pop videos for a fun, upbeat atmosphere. My husband and I both decided to get the "all you can eat" dinner, which I believe is $33.99 each. Our server took our order and then brought out several small dishes such as glass noodles, macaroni salad, kimchi, pickled cucumbers, etc., all of which were very tasty. With rhetorical all you can eat dinner, you can order from a list of various meats, poultry, etc. which you cook at the grill in the center of your table. We had bulgogi, shrimp, and squid. I especially liked the bulgogi. The shrimp was tasty but a little inconvenient since the shell is still on - can be a little messy when you peel off the shell. The squid was not my personal preference, due to the chewy texture, but I think that's just the way squid is and the flavor was good. The service overall was good and our server came to check on us several times and exchanged the grill cover a few times as well to prevent any leftover bits from causing things to get smoky. My husband did have to ask for his drink a second time before he got it, but apart from that, no complaints. Looking forward to our next visit!

Went here for AYCE for $32 per person on a Saturday late afternoon and it was okay. I was disappointed with the meat quality of the brisket... it is normally my favorite but it way too tough and too chewy. I could not eat it. But the pork belly made up for it because it was thin and I was able to cook it fast and make it crispy. I liked dipping the pork belly in the cheese corn and brisket sauce. The service was nice and friendly. We were able to flag them down for extra sauce, condiments and water refills. It's a good space overall but there are probably other venues with better meat quality.

We frequent here a lot because it's Japantown's hidden secret. Everyone tends to go to Yakiniq and there's usually a long wait there, so you go to Beque where there barely is a wait and the overall experience is better. The workers here are amazing and the owner is so sweet! We go here often and they always remember us. They're super speedy and rarely ever makes mistakes with our orders. They always check-in, so I don't have to call them over. The meat is decent. It gets the job done. Their portions are a lot, which I appreciate because I don't need to bother them to order more. Reasonably priced and they have good meat options. They don't have galbi tho, but have an alternative. I highly recommend this spot if you're craving KBBQ and need to be satisfied!

I always pass by this place and decided today to come in ans try it out. And I can honestly Say it's not too bad. They have an all you can eat lunch for $25.99 and all you can eat dinner $30.99. We. Choose the all you can eat lunch. We only had two rounds. For the first round we choose the cheese fondue dip, corn cheese dip, brisket, garlic pork belly and marinated bulgogi. The brisket was really frozen so when we threw it on the grill it cooked super fast and ended up being tough before we could finish the meat. The marinated bulgogi was our favorite. It was flavorful and tender. It was nicely seasoned. For the sauces we got the bean paste, spicy sauce, garlic and jalapeño. When cooking on the grill we recommend adding the jalapeño and garlics to give the meat a bit of more flavor. The garlic pork belly was delicious and not to fatty. Overall. I do like this place if my other korean bbq spots are closed. The thing is that they charge gor steam egg. Which some places do not.

Ask the Community - Beque BBQ Grill

    Can I make a reservation?

I don't think they take reservations

Is this place still all you can eat?

    Yes!

I have a peanut / nut allergy. Are there anything with peanuts / nuts? Does the restaurant do a good job about cross contamination?

They have some sauces for dipping that have peanuts in them. You should ask to be sure, but from my experience you might not get a correct answer.

The price per person is paid for every round or is it just the person and all you can eat after and not being charged per round?

You pay after, I suggest that you finish what you got first and ask yourself if you are really gonna order more food because there is a fee if you do not finish most of your protein. Which is understandable.

    Do they accept cash?

    Yes they do.

Can one person order all you can eat option $18.95 that one ? What's the time limit?

No. There's a two persons minimum. Time limit is set at 2 hours.

Do we have to reserve a table?

I just went a few days ago and walked in. The wait was about 20 minutes.

If going there solo (just one person), is it possible to still eat there and order something that is not part of the All You Can Eat, such as Kimchi fried rice, soup, appetizers, etc.?

Yes, they have a menu for individual dishes. Go on their website and scroll down. They have lunch specials as well as individual platters (with prices).

For Dine-In are we able to cook our own meat or will the servers do it for us?

You will cook yourself, tables are separated apart with at least one table apart, if you go early you practically have the place to yourself.

Hi, What is the portion size for the garlic pork belly (cooked) if I wanted to order it for delivery?

Bento should serve one person Dinner size should swerve two people

Is there a time limit for the all you can eat for a party of 4?

    Yes 2 hour

Can I order just the tofu soup to go without eating at the restaurant?

Yes you can, you can take soups, appetizers, and bibimbaps for to go.

Do you have options for vegetarians? If so what are they?

Hi Wendy, Thank you for reaching out! We have a variety of vegetarian options, including bibimbap… Read more

There are floor-to-ceiling windows in the main dining room, revealing a slice of life on Market St. in the City, with the antique F Trains, modern Muni buses and people making their way in this cozy city. Beautiful buffet. I was literally eating like a king, so I took my time and appreciated each bite. The buffet dishes are enough to get full on, so I always restrict myself here, just getting some butter lettuce to do wraps, some preemo guac, some brocc, the bean soup is great, I'll get 2 french fries and 1 yucca and 4 caramelized plantains. There's so much more. You've got a whole mess of delicious greens to keep your meal balanced. I typically don't eat any meat from the buffet, I prefer my salmon to be a little more undercooked. Did I already say cheesy bread, because I will have another refill, thanks! When you're ready for the meats, you turn the little wheel on your table to green, the staff comes over with some steaming goodness and you ready your tongs to catch a fresh slice of meat (thank you, glorious cows), then turn that wheel to red when you have the portion you need. My friend and I practiced some spirituality and had to say a respectful "no" when the chicken and such came around. We came here for the meats! Tonight, the customer favorite meat was favorite-ing, that's the top sirloin. Not dry! The beef ribs they rolled out on the cart were a welcome spectacle and the fall-off-the-bone meat was melty and succulent. While I love the Peanut Butter Thing for dessert, we decided to listen to our bodies and throw in the towel. That was until the staff came out with a scoop of prime vanilla ice cream and a birthday candle and a song in Portuguese. Staff were super attentive, responsive, warm and generous. I recommend it for a special event or for a meal treat.

Granted we were a bit late for our reservation, we ended up having to wait another 30-40 mins. The place (2nd floor) is small & awkward. We were all cramped waiting on the stairway and the actual seating area is also fairly small for a busy KBBQ place/big parties. The 8 of us squeezed into a booth with 2 chairs on the side. You can also feel whenever the table next to us got up and stomped/yelled/moved in their chairs-- which was really often. The basic AYCE menu is fairly limited-- esp for the side options. The marinated meats were pretty good as was the tteokbokki. Side & meat portions were alright, but the kicker is having to flag down staff to make sure they put in the order & bring it out. We asked for japchae about 5 times before it actually reached our table towards the end of our meal. They didn't rush us at all and allowed us to enjoy our meal while they started cleaning up. Their thoughtful and relaxed approach was really appreciated. They had a $98 special for two that included a whole crab, garlic noodles, egg rolls, and salad--such a great deal, especially compared to other crab spots in the city, which can be pretty expensive. We've been to a few, and this one definitely offered good value for what we got. We added green beans to our order which was delicious. We ordered the peppercorn crab, which was tasty, though a bit salty on the outside--as expected with a salt and pepper dish--but the crab meat itself was delicious. Next time, we'll probably try the garlic butter version to compare. The only minor disappointment was the tea; it was a big pot with just one teabag, so the flavor was a bit weak, but not a dealbreaker. Parking in the area isn't great, especially at night, so we chose to Uber across town, which worked out fine but took 25 mins from Potrero Hill. There was no wait when we arrived, but since it was a Tuesday night, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a wait earlier in the evening or on weekends. Let's start with the practical stuff: getting a reservation is notoriously difficult. Your best bet is to go as a party of four or more. Smaller groups should head straight to the bar -- first come, first served, but expect about a 45-minute wait. Worth every minute. The food is the star here, full stop. There is something about the prime rib at this place that stays with you long after the meal. Nothing really compares. The tableside presentation where you choose your cut is a nice touch that adds to the whole experience. Come hungry! The portions are massive. I'll be honest: this is a food-first, ambience-second kind of place. It's busy and lively, so I wouldn't call it an intimate date night spot. Think of it more as an "I want the best prime rib in the city" night. If that's what your expectations are, it delivers completely. SF is lucky to have an institution like this. It honestly felt like we were ordering with a friend who just happens to know the entire menu inside and out. She gave amazing recommendations and even told us she makes the hot sauce from scratch (which... you can taste the difference). That level of care really set the tone for the whole night. Now the food... not a single miss. Seriously, not one thing we didn't like. We went with the Ultra menu ($108), which includes lobster, and it was 100% worth it. For broths, we chose the Tom Yum and Tonkotsu. Both were rich, flavorful, and perfect in completely different ways. The meat selection was incredible, especially the wagyu options, they literally melt in your mouth. You can tell the quality is top tier. The flame-torched wagyu nigiri was absolutely out of this world--perfectly balanced and paired with a wasabi powder that elevated every bite. We also had the hamachi cloud, which was so fresh, flavorful, and had the perfect crunch--such a standout dish. And the spicy clams? Easily one of our favorites. Super fresh, super tasty, and packed with flavor. Beyond the food, the entire staff made us feel genuinely welcomed, which made the experience even better. The location is perfect. It's right in the center of Japantown. Inside they have a bar where you can sit and talk with the servers face-to-face. And it's a great spot to people watch while you eat. I truly cannot recommend this place enough. Between the incredible quality, the variety, and the next-level service. This is a spot I'll be coming back to again and again (and yes, I'll absolutely be asking for Irene).
