Good: Food was flavorful and delicious! 10/10 definitely felt like mom's cooking! You remember in Ratatouille, where the critic ate one bite and had a childhood memory flashback? That's what you'll get when you eat their dishes! Bad: Portion is way too small! 5/10 like adults need bigger dishes so that's our only complaint! Overall? We would definitely come back because it's rare to find good Vietnamese food and this restaurant is a true blessing! 10/10

We tried during the soft opening period and had the food togo so Im going to assume this added some negative impact on the overall quality. I bought Bún Riêu, Canh Bún, Bánh Mì chả cá, and bánh tráng trộn for $50 The food quantity was shockingly small compared to the price ($14-15). The toppings were minimal. But it is in Katy area and in this economy, I would be fine with the higher price when the food can make up for it in quality. The quality of the food itself was below average. I felt like I was eating some type of noodle in some type of random soup. It didn't feel like Bun Rieu or Canh Bun at all Hopefully this is due to their soft opening and they are willing to take feedback and improve, or else...it's going to be hard to retain customers . Lastly, please try to at least attempt to make your food look a little bit like your menu pictures. Or change the menu pictures to reflect your real food.

difficult to find my favorite soup, bun rieu outside of bellaire. was excited to try this place out but reviews seem all over the place anyways, place has ample parking, it's clean inside which is always a plus. bun rieu was great. i personally enjoyed the broth. very seafoody. i like how every restaurant that i've been to in houston has their own little take on bun rieu. the rieu was one giant ball and it was tender and super flavorful. will definitely come back here

Bought it today Aug 21 and the thing expired June 16!

I normally don't give a bad review on new business because I know how it would effect their business due to new opening and have lots of things they need to be fix. But I have to come in here and give the review for my own experience hopefully the owner will see this and make everything better. I have heard so many bad reviews over this place but thought would give it a try because everyone have different taste, my friend today came in to ordered the crab soup. The soup came nothing like the picture, where is the crab? Let alone the shedded chicken in there was very little, i feel like im drinking water with very little topping, the 2 quail eggs they gave was very stink so after I ate it I just want to throw up, don't know if they gone bad or the owner left it out too long. Not to mention the price and portion, $7.99 + tax for a CUP (about 20oz or less) but nothing inside and they put too much chilly oil in there it was very spicy if I want to feed my kids they wont be able to eat them, they should have leave it on the side for their client's own taste, we rather pay a little more but have a better quality crab soup. She also order roasted pork banh mi, the banh mi I know for most places they have to reheat to make it extra crispy and hot but the banh mi there seem like its in a freezer wayyy to long, it was so dry and just taste really bad over all. My friend also bought me a muoi tom (shirmp salt) there today and it was expired 2 months already, if you are brand new business and want to build up your clients, please be considerate and care for your customers over details like that if you want your business to be better. The food they serve vs the picture in the menu look NOTHING alike. I understand for picture business usually make it more appealing for your customers but please at lease try to make it 80% look like photo or the real portion you are going to serve so it wont be misleading.

Bep Nha Pudding recently opened in the Katy area. I was quite impressed with the restaurant's design, featuring many chandeliers, colorful tables and chairs, and a clean space. There's also a section selling popular Vietnamese snacks. The main dish here is Minced Crab Rice Noodle Soup, which I enjoyed for its flavorful broth and abundant toppings, though the broth was a bit cold when served. I also ordered Crispy Fried Rice Cake, which came in a generous portion; the eggs were perfectly cooked, but the rice cake was chewy instead of crispy. I finished with a pandan milk drink, which was visually appealing and tasty with added jelly. The menu is quite diverse, and I look forward to trying new dishes on my next visit.

This place is legit. I saw reviews and have to say I completely disagree. It's a new business and every new business needs to work out their process and systems. What they are getting right from the get go is the quality and flavor of dishes. Came in for lunch today and ordered the bun rieu and the rice/egg cake. The bun rieu is the best I've had in Katy.

"The Korean Spicy Stir Fried Noodle Beef was good, but you must try the Minced Crab Noodle Soup. It has an amazing umami flavor and is absolutely worth your money. By the way, the service was nice; the staff is young and friendly, so I hope everyone in the local area supports them."

We got the roti canai and salt and pepper calamari as appetizers, and the sizzling tofu, beef rendang, CK teow as entrees. - Sizzling tofu (6/5): A MUST TRY! I've never had tofu with this texture before. The outside is slightly crisp and the inside so light and fluffy, it feels like bitting into a cloud. The tofu tastes like a creamy egg soufflé and the sauce is savory and salty with pieces of sauté onions that add a nice crunch. The presentation was also very striking with the server pouring the sizzling sauce over the tofu. It's just such a beautiful dish that I would go back solely for! - Beef rendang (4.5/5): Overall a delicious and hearty dish. The beef was very tender and juicy, and there was a generous amount of it. The potatoes soaked up the sauce very well and made the dish extra filling. I forgot if we got to pick a spice level, but the dish had a nice kick to it and wasn't overwhelming spicy. - "CK teow" char kway teow (4/5): This dish had a lovely char tasted to it that made it very addictive. Just a nice savory noodle dish. I think my only complaint was that the portion was on the smaller side - Salt & pepper calamari (3.6/5): This was a pretty good calamari. The calamari had a light and crispy exterior and was pretty tender and seasoned really well. The chunky veggies were a nice touch texture wise. - Roti Canai (3.6/5): the Indian bread was so nice and flakey, I could've eaten it alone. The curry was also really tasty and flavorful, just a little bit watery. Service/ambiance: Service was excellent and they gave us so much rice. The restaurant was dimly lit, giving it a nice ambiance for dinner or a date night.

This place delivered where it mattered most, especially with the highly reviewed appetizers. Probably one of my favorite drinks here was the Thai Green Tea. It has a really interesting flavor that stands out from regular Thai Tea -- more earthy, but not quite like matcha (we guessed there might be pandan in it). Just a heads up: it's definitely on the sweeter side. My partner and I actually let the ice melt a bit before continuing to drink it, which helped balance things out. I came back a second time and still loved it just as much. The dipping sauce felt like a truly authentic representation of Vietnamese cuisine. It was a lightly diluted fish sauce with spicy red pepper and plenty of garlic -- simple but really flavorful. I also appreciated that the table setup let you customize it to your taste. In my first experience here, we ordered the Bánh Xèo, Bánh Khọt, and Bánh Bột Chiên. I was hands down a huge fan of the ginormous Bánh Xèo -- crispy, flavorful, and just overall my favorite (though I'll admit I'm a little biased toward it already). Meanwhile, my boyfriend completely fell in love with the crunchy Bánh Khọt. That said, I did notice a slight graininess in the Bánh Khọt, which took away a few points for me. The Bánh Bột Chiên was solid and got a pass from us, but it wasn't our top pick -- mostly because we've had better versions elsewhere. Other worthy notes: the herbs were fresh and crisp, and the pickled vegetables were refreshing as well (though my boyfriend thought they could've been a bit more strongly pickled). Eating everything the traditional way -- wrapping it in lettuce with herbs -- made the whole experience even better. Honestly, I would come back just to order two Bánh Xèo. I actually came back a second time before posting this review, this time with my family. We ordered the Bắp Xào, Cơm Chiên Bò Lúc Lắc, and a simple rice dish. This visit was a bit different -- across the board, we all agreed the dishes leaned too salty this time around. I could also tell the staff was overwhelmed, with only two people handling both the front and the kitchen, so it was tough to get their attention at times. That said, the Bánh Xèo still held its ground. My parents were genuinely impressed by the size, and for me, it's still an absolute banger -- something I'd come back for again and again purely for flavor and value. The Bắp Xào really stood out to me in a nostalgic way. I loved the use of traditional Vietnamese corn, and the sautéed dried shrimp brought back memories of flavors from dishes I grew up eating, even if I couldn't quite pinpoint which one. While my mom thought it was too salty, I actually felt like it would pair perfectly with a bowl of plain white rice. I also tried some of my brother's Cơm Chiên Bò Lúc Lắc and found the beef to be tender and flavorful, though not particularly standout compared to other places. I've had very similar versions nearby, but it's still my brother's go-to -- though I suspect that might also be his way of loading up on protein. Overall, even with the inconsistency during the second visit, I still really enjoy Yummy Quan -- especially for the appetizers. It's a place I'd bring family and friends to try, and I'm still curious about more of the menu... but realistically, I could live life on Bánh Xèo alone. At the end, you also get to grab some guava candy, and for anyone who's never had these, don't forget to pick some up -- they're simply delectable!

We saw on the door that they're BYOB? Thai Green Tea (4.5/5): Really sweet but with some pretty unique grassy/herbal notes! (Pandan??) Would recommend if they can adjust the sweetness down a notch. We let the ice melt a bit and it made for a great palatte cleanser. Banh Xeo (4.5/5): Definitely one of their signature dishes. I read the reviews on how large it was and it was still shocking! See my hand for reference. It's crispy and delicious. Two downsides: Not enough protein, and not enough lettuce to make wraps with how big it is. But overall, definitely one of the best I've had outside of homemade. Banh Khot (4/5): These little flavor explosions are a perfect bite size and are also a signature dish. Would definitely recommend. A few of ours were light on the pork. Banh Bot Chien (3.5/5): I was dying to try this since there is really one famous spot for it. Their version is very good, but misses on the crispiness. The inside texture and pairing sauces and radish were all very good, it just needed a little more crisp. I love that they give extra garlic and spice and basically let you customize the intensity of your fish sauce to your preference. Paid with no issues via inKind at the counter. We definitely left stuffed and would come back!

As I dug deeper, I read Jando's glowing review word-for-word and found myself salivating. Well, I ventured out to S. Mason for lunch, found the place easily, appreciated the ample and free parking, and walked in. I had read before that they used to be closed on Tuesdays and Saturdays, but now they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays but open for dinner on Saturdays. (See my photos.) Anyhow, we walked in and found the place homey. Nothing fancy - just a nice, clean, homey Malaysian restaurant. Not too big, and not too small. We placed our order of roti canai, stir fried flat rice noodles, seafood sizzling tofu, and topped it off with a Malaysian milk tea. Oh my - we were satisfied and stuffed as a party of 2. We ended up boxing up almost 40% of the meal. The roti was near perfection - crispy, hot, flaky. The dipping sauce was perfectly seasoned with the right amount of heat. It included chunks of chicken and potato. You must absolutely order this one. I love me some stir fried flat rice noodles so we got that one with chicken. Overall, it was excellent. Portions were a tad smaller than I would like for the price. Also it could use a little bit of hot sauce so we asked for a side of sriracha which they gladly and quickly brought. The sizzling tofu - OMG so good. I can't even explain it. I just love it so much and the portions are huge. I'm not sure what the vegetable flavor would taste like but we tried the seafood one and have no regrets. Lastly the milk tea was just because we felt like splurging and it was also a great decision. The tea flavor itself is deep and the overall drink is very nice. We got it iced. And an honorable mention - we ran into Uncle Chin (at least we assume it was Uncle Chin) and told him his food was amazing. I think he really appreciated it. He seems like a super nice guy and I want his business to do really well. If that wasn't Uncle Chin then we talked to a random person and raved about the food... Additionally, I think there's a heavy usage of MSG in their broth because I felt loopy and very thirsty for water halfway through. Needless to say, I was only able to eat half of the generous serving. For those who are a fan of pho and appreciate generous portions, this place is definitely worth a visit. At first it was just us and one other table, but not long after, more people started coming in, probably for lunch as well. The restaurant is pretty large, with both tables and booths, plus a big table for large groups. This is what we ordered: Combo Rolls This comes as a sampler with five different types of spring rolls. Regular spring rolls, nem nuong rolls (fermented grilled pork), grilled chicken, grilled pork, and shrimp only. I really liked this idea because it lets you try everything without having to order each roll separately. My favorite was the nem nuong roll. Bun Bo Hue I do not eat pork blood or pork loaf, so I substituted them with more tendon and beef meatballs. Because of that, I cannot really comment on how the pork tasted. The broth was okay but a little lacking in flavor. After I asked for shrimp paste, it tasted much better. Bo Kho (Beef Stew) This is my husband favorite dish, so he always orders it whenever a place has it. He ordered the one come with bread as dipping. He did not really like this one. It was not bad, but not great either. The flavor was missing, and the broth was more watered down than how he prefers it. Still, it is worth trying if you like beef stew. Overall, our experience was just okay. The service was fine, but the food did not leave a strong impression on us. We did not stay long since my husband had to get back to work. I would come back to try more dishes, especially pho. Since their name is Pho Guru, I feel like the pho might be better.
