At the showroom we met Enrique, who answered all our questions and was a heck of a nice guy too. Installed all new Milgard windows and two sliding doors. This is a family owned business with loyal employees. Tim, the owner, helped us with selection, we had some extra demolition work that was messy, they did a great job with minimal surprises with regards to cost and schedule. These guys have seen it all. Each day they cleaned up the worksite to minimize intrusion. The Milgard e-glass has significantly reduced glare and heat/cold, wish we had installed these sooner. We did have some warranty items that Milgard had to come out to address and Tim's team was able to alleviate and facilitate with Milgard's warranty. Hands down the best window contractors around! From start to finish Tim and his team were nothing short of fantastic! Easy to reach them and make the initial appointment, the day of they arrived on time :) and went over all the options they recommended for the area we were looking at for a new window. It was clear communication all along the way. We hired them right then and there! The window arrived sooner than anticipated and they called and scheduled our appointment for the two day job. Enrique is extremely helpful and professional. First, his bid for a replacement window after a burglary was half of the Anderson bid. He explained the process thoroughly. When the window arrived, he scheduled installation the next business day. The installation required substantial work, which he supervised. They replaced the framing with new wood and cleaned everything up. My townhouse is next to a road and badly needed new windows for sound control. Bentson Windows did a great job from start to finish. The business owner Tim gets directly involved-- there's no big company sales team and no aggressive sales pitch. I had docs to submit to my HOA for FREE. They get three stars for the pricing but attention to detail is not their strong point. They finished the windows with caulking that looked like they were racing to finish the job. Literally one of the worst caulking jobs I've seen from a professional installer. Owner is nice guy but whoever he has for installers needs to take some training on installation. Worst part is - its a newly painted townhouse and I dont have any touch up paint to cover this mess! The fact that Im selling this property adds to the frustration of this installation. I highly recommend Tim and Bentson windows. I ordered 20+ windows/doors from Tim for my duplex. Tim and his team are knowledgeable and provided informative suggestions and knowledge I needed for me to make my never-regret order decision. They are professional, friendly, and responded timely. Although Tim was not installing my windows (other contractor did), I took my son to his store asking for installing questions and he answered and resolved our confusion completely. Tim quoted a bit higher quality windows but the price was comparable with others who quoted a bit lower quality. This is subtle and you may not noticed it during the quote. read more

My experience with Bentson was as good as it gets. When I met Enrique for the initial quote he was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Once the job began, Jesse and his onsite crew displayed all the same qualities. They showed up on time every day, explained what they'd be working on, and did a great job cleaning up. We recently got our house painted and realized that the stucco around the windows did not match the rest of the house. It made me almost sick to realize that all the money spent upgrading the windows resulted in a job where the windows had a "ring around them" because the stucco was not smoothed out. We could not tell as the stucco was patch was white, and we thought that this would be fixed with the paint. But nope. Even after the paint it was obvious...I may be OCD but that bothered me a lot. I sent a note to Tim and he quickly responded and had his workers redo the windows facing the street, and even sent a painter to patch up the paint job. His service was prompt and he quickly set the wheels in motion to repair the problem, even though it had been 8 months since the install. Enrique is great to work with and was very helpful in answering my questions. I'm still a fan of Bentsons windows and would recommend them for the next job. But if you are replacing the whole window, please make sure the stucco is smoothed out and matches the texture of the rest of the house. read more

I just had 7 windows and a pair of french doors installed by Bentson Windows of Campbell, CA. I could have gone with a cheaper, big market window company, but I preferred to use a local company and support my hometown. Bentson Windows is a family business. Jim, the father, provided a competitive estimate and his son installed the windows. They did an excellent job, and these are not retrofit windows. They even removed my plantation shutters before installing the windows and then re-installed the shutters. They also did a great job framing the windows and repairing the stucco. The windows were special ordered (I had some funky size windows) and they came in right on time. Bentson Windows installed them within a week. I paid around $9,000 ($4,000 for the french doors) for Milgard Fiberglass Low Energy windows and doors. I will also get a $1,500 tax credit at the end of the year. Milgard windows come with a lifetime guarantee. With the new windows, my house stays cooler in the summer, and will stay much warmer in the winter. They also make my house look great. read more

We recently finished a project Bentson Windows. We had 12 windows replaced via new construction installation. The sales crew was very helpful. They shared a lot of information with me regarding retro-fit versus new construction installation. They presented different brands of windows and helped me understand the pros and cons of each brand. They helped me understand the different options I had available to me regarding UV coating and argon insulated windows. I chose to get a bid from them and a few other companies based on Yelp reviews. I picked for the window project because I felt they were the most honest and most eager to help us find the best window installation method and brand of windows for us. Their construction crew was talented and courteous, and they left my house quite clean every day. The job was not easy because they had to install custom interior and exterior trims. They made the new windows match the style of our Arts & Crafts style house. We purchased Milgard Ultra fiberglass windows. We love them. We had a great experience with Bentson Windows. We have a historic home built in the Santa Cruz Mountains, and were looking to replace some of the old windows on our second floor. Bentson Windows offered us a great deal on really excellent windows, and the service was fast, knowledgeable and respectful. Having gotten quotes from other window installation services in both Santa Cruz and San Jose, save yourself the time: Call Benston Windows first and make it your only call. Paul, the salesman, was the third of five salespeople we saw. He took into account the style of the home, our needs and our budget. He didn't force anything on us, or steer us in directions that were unnecessarily cheap. Instead, he offered us a very competitive price on Marvin Ultrex (fiberglass windows) -- only $500 more than many competitors were asking for vinyl windows. He also didn't try and force us into signing a contract on the spot (which some of his competitors did). Instead, he let us take our time and think it through. In the end, it was a no-brainer to go with Bentson. The installation crew -- Jesse and Enrique -- spent two, hot summer days installing the windows on our second floor. I had Bentson Windows provide me with an estimate to replace my 8 Windows in a condo. Tim, the owner came out to do the measurements and seemed very knowledgeable about the frame color and the type of windows that the HOA would approve. I also received estimates from other companies, but the reps that came out were not estimators but rather salesmen, who try to push their product without giving any regard to what would be the best choice for you. You want to work with a company that doesn't use a middle man and that will give you a quote for what you actually need. Although I ended up going with a different company that provided me with a very similar quote (for no apparent reason other than I had to make a choice), Bentson Windows was one of the few that stood out, including their very competitive prices, and I had a very positive initial experience with them. read more

Unfortunately, we cannot give any stars. Originally we were quoted one price then we came back and they added an additional $26k. This was our first bid. We went to Pellar and California Craftsman and both bids came in under their original bid $30k. What concerned us the most was how unprofessional they were with their vendor. Benston had provided us with a bid from their vendor of choice which we challenged. Their vendor assumed they already won the bid, an expectation Benston set, not us. Benston asked their vendor to show up on our jobsite without informing us. If Benston had, we would have explained that it would be a waste of time for the vendor to show up since we had not decided who to move forward with. The Bentson Windows Company replaced four of our large windows in Santa Cruz. They were timely and did a real nice job. Tim used his design skills to choose a better choice of window for my style of house even though that choice reduced how much we paid for them. Tim Bentson has been selling and installing windows and fireplaces for many years. Tim was responsible for the entire remodel of our home which include all new windows AND a new fireplace in the living room. What you will notice about Tim right off is that he is genuinely friendly and knows an amazing amount of detail about the business. I know I had come into his shop with preconceived notions about the windows I wanted; however, Tim took the time to tell me about ALL the windows that are available to choose from so that I was able to make a more informed decision. The idea he had with regards to our greenhouse window in the kitchen has been a focal point for the room ever since he installed it. His idea of using a vinyl clad window in our bathroom was genius. It always looks good even after all the showers. So, give Tim a call...better yet, stop by and speak with him. First off everyone I met there was super nice and professional. Went in to get some info on window replacements. Window gentleman was not there but the nice fellow at the desk gave me his card. I texted him and he called back immediately offering great recommendations and told me upfront they were very busy until December. Very nice guy. Offered to come give me an estimate. We made a tentative agreement I would text him to arrange a time to come out on a particular day. That's where things hit a dead end. Texted later that day. No response. Texted again a week later. No response. Emailed . No response. Emailed again. No response. Also FYI the company email ( not the personal employee one I used for the window gentleman) on their main website was not working a month ago. Emailed them and it immediately bounced back, maybe it's fixed now. Terribly disappointed. If you say you're going to do something, do it. If you're too busy then just say we're too busy at this time. Also ignoring repeated communication is just, well it's just not right with me. We had decided on a window contractor and were ready to proceed and they fell apart on us. No calls back, misunderstanding our Association's requests for information - not good at all. My husband went on-line to find another window contractor. After contacting several it was an easy choice to choose Bentson. Tim did everything he said he would in a very timely manner. When his crew showed up to do the job (3 men, 7 new construction windows) they could not have been more professional. Very considerate of our family, very diligent about finishing the job before moving on to their next project. We had one small problem with an alarm sensor being put behind the window trim. Within a few hours of my email, and on a Saturday, one of the crew came over to rectify the problem. My neighbors actually commented on the crew and gave them praise. They did several custom large odd-shaped picture windows for us. Upon request they supplied the type of glass that qualifies for an energy saving federal tax rebate. Thank you, Pres. Obama. You've made my house cooler. In more than one way. Although the glass has a green tint, it looks like regular glass from the street. Milguard did come and check out the doors. They found some installation problems, fixed the problems and lubricated the tracks. They only came because Bentson insisted they come. Now the doors are much easier to open and close and we are satisfied with the final product. I will probably ask Bentson to do other work for us, but doubt they will want to after reading my previous review. read more

Bentson Windows replaced all of our windows at a reasonable price. What impressed me the most was: quickly returns calls, friendly, trustworthy, awesome customer service, job well done. My husband works long hours, and Tim brought windows to our house for my husband to view and to discuss. It was great that tim did this to fit our schedule! Bentson Windows just completed replacement of 7 windows and 1 sliding door via new construction installation. Tim did a great job during product selection, quotes, and placing the order. He provided great advice, was extremely responsive, and answered all of my questions. Most importantly, he provided an installation date 3 weeks out, and kept to the schedule. His 3-man crew did a thorough job breaking out the old siding/stucco and only removed the windows they knew they could replace the same day. No openings left uncovered overnight. The nature of construction will create some mess and in general they did a good job of cleaning up. Unfortunately the vacuum malfunctioned one day and I came home to a living room full of dust. (-0.5 star). Lastly, there were a couple scuffs and smudges left on the windows after installation that weren't cleaned off. (-0.5 star). If I could give these guys 4.5 stars, that would be my rating as these two issues were very minor. The crew was very courteous, showed up on time, and completed the job in 4 days. Fast, efficient, quality service. I will gladly recommend Tim and his team to family and friends going forward. read more

Bentson provided all that and more. Paul made the experience super easy and seamless. Took me through the process of how to choose the "right" windows and addressed my concerns. I was happy with the price - I roughly knew where the point is but Paul told me after we confirmed that I am getting another $400+ discount from the manufacturer. I thought that was awfully nice that he passed on the savings on top of an already reasonable quote. His crew on D Day were phenomenal. They were happy, efficient, fast and paid attention to the little/minor details. I commend them for the professionalism they each showed individually. There's the guy who shook off all my rugs to get rid of the dust and made sure it was all cleaned up, the one who asked me to check out the "clickers" on the windows and door to make sure they are smooth and he adjusted them till they are right and Enrique who informed me they had to fix a tiny bit of stucco on the bathroom ledge.
