The process further was quick and easy, with a Docusign and deposit payment, Albert gave me a rough timeline of when the windows would be delivered. Exactly 5 weeks later, as promised, I got my windows retrofitted in a day. Albert was also kind enough to add a latch to the top of one of my doors so kids won't be able to open it easily. We were referred to Frank Payton through a friend, I was so tired of our dark kitchen, we had to turn lights on every morning. He suggested installing 2 windows. I was going to knock down a wall and hope for more light. The Sun tunnels were beyond what I expected and I couldn't be happier. This led to us noticing that the kitchen needed a face lift. You get what you pay for. A1 was the cheapest out of all the companies I contacted, and it reflects their service. The contracted glass was from Simonton. They requested my signature to order the glass 2 business days after the initial measurements and did not inform me that it needed to be signed immediately, or else the repair would be delayed by a week. They only seemed responsive when obtaining my business and asking me to pay. Sometimes they flat out would forget to respond to my emails. In the end due to the delays in the glass delivery I had to cancel the installation, but was left with the bill for the glass anyways. People say you can only pick 2 between cost, speed, and quality. A1 is only good if you don't mind barely acceptable quality and have an abundance of time. read more

I paid close to $20K for new windows throughout my 4-bed, 2-bath house during the pandemic, and the experience was disappointing to say the least. * One of the workers used our toilet and left the electric one unflushed for days (they didn't even bring those portable toilet to the site). * I was promised video recordings of the entire project (which I needed for licensing purposes later), but there were none. * A worker damaged my lawn, and while a manager promised to contact my gardener to fix it, nothing ever came of it. * They told me that parts of the walls would need reconstruction and that retrofitting wouldn't be ideal. Ironically, the retrofitted windows work smoothly, while two of the newly constructed ones still have issues closing. They did send someone out to fix the problematic windows, but to this day, some of them still don't function properly. While management had a good attitude and was apologetic about the issues, they admitted they couldn't send a supervisor to the site and referred to it as a "no parent at home" situation. I'm leaving this review now after a couple of years because I've realized that these problems weren't just short-term inconveniences -- they've had lasting effects. read more

Frank not only quoted replacing the old, large kitchen window, but also a total kitchen remodel. He touched base with us at least 3X a day. Letting us know what the day/week plan was and if there were any changes. He was extremely proactive. and he also happens to be a very pleasant and genuinely nice man as well. His team is respectful, knowledgeable, performs complex tasks well, and cleans up daily. Frank estimated that the job would take 5 months, but he completed the job early. Along the way, we discovered extra scope that we wanted to add to the baseline plan, Frank WAS AMAZING at adapting to the changes and accommodating the extra work. We got 3 quotes, Frank's estimate is right in the middle. We've decided to go with Simonton Daylight Max with A1. He gave us an estimate time of 6 weeks and it's really 6 weeks when our windows arrived. Frank scheduled our installation 3 days after our windows arrived at his warehouse. Two crews showed up and finished installing our 20 windows in two days. They did a great job, and did not damage any of our stucco, etc. Simonton gave us lifetime warranty including accidental damage. Frank promised us no labor cost if there's any replacement in the future for as long as A1 still exists. I'm curious if anyone has claim any warranty repair years after installation? This is where good and bad vendor shows their real skin. Time will tell. read more

Had A-1 install Milgard windows and have had nothing but problems with the windows. According to Milgard some of the windows were not installed correctly. Patio door failed due to improper install. One window does not open without a struggle. Again, Milgard states it is an install issue. This window has been serviced 3 times by Milgard and still does not work properly. In order to fix this issue we would have to get a complete new window at our cost. I do not recommend Milgard windows at all. As well I cannot say that A-1 Construction would be my choice again. read more

I was set on a Milgard window and I asked his opinion on what to purchase and he brought out 2 samples from his truck and showed me a better window and I went with his suggestion. I asked why he didn't try to talk me out of a Milgard Tuscany and he said when people make up their minds, he does not try to sway them so I really liked his no pressure approach. I want to give a shout out to his installer Albert. Albert and his colleague did an awesome job on the installation of the new construction window on a prior retrofit aluminum window that was previous installed by the former owner. I was really worried they would have to cut the tile inside my window sill to make the window fit. Frank's customer service is at a different level than any of the other vendors I spoke with, got quotes from, or had onsite to take measurements. He also made sure that my windows got installed on a crazy fast schedule that no one else could match. His quote was competitive. He really goes the extra mile, is super friendly, communicative, punctual, and helpful as he can be. Can't recommend strong enough. Alberto and the crew were great. They retrofitted my entire house, 12 windows and a sliding glass door, in a single day. Installation was perfect. They also took great care with my walls when carrying large windows around tight spaces. I am enjoying the sound insulation and the thermal insulation very much, and the windows look great! After the installation I realized that I had forgotten to order an outside key lock for my sliding glass door. When I mentioned this to Frank, he came over on the same day and installed a new key lock no charge. I would definitely go to Frank & Alberto again for a future windows project for myself or my friends. read more

I even told them I only needed a few windows changed(but wanted new construction installation, which another reviewer mentioned they could do) and another one repaired that had been leaking(previously replaced). He was rude over the phone and be little a me saying he get all this messages inquiring about windows and etc. as if my project is not important and not worth his time.
