    Chicken udon
    Melissa S.

For the limited options in Terminal A (Starbucks, burgers, and more burgers), it's not a bad choice. They offer sushi (California rolls), poke bowls (2/4 are raw), udon, and ramen for your main dishes and if you'd like to try a little of everything, they have a bento with sushi, dumplings, seaweed salad, and protein of your choice over rice. I decided on the chicken udon. The chicken was a little overcooked so it was a bit dry and the broth was served boiling hot, meaning I had to wait for it to cool (so keep that in mind if you're in a rush). The udon noodles were a decent chewiness rather than soggy, which was good. Overall, decent. The staff were nice to me so I had no service issues. I got my order within a couple minutes (with no line). The prices are a little high, which is not really surprising for the airport. But expect to pay $15-25 per person with a drink. 3 stars for an average experience.

The broth was rich, the noodles were perfect, and the toppings were fresh and high quality. The bowl is massive, so definitely take caution before attempting the challenge. It's no joke and is way harder than it looks. The staff was friendly and super encouraging, making the experience fun whether you win or lose. Just keep in mind that if you fail, the bowl is pretty expensive, so be ready for that. Still, even with the price, the quality makes it worth it. The decor is also really impressive. The atmosphere feels cozy, modern, and authentic, making it a great spot whether you're dining casually or taking on the challenge. Everything is clean, well-kept, and designed with a lot of thought. Even though I didn't beat the challenge, the food and overall experience were fantastic. I'd easily come back just for a regular bowl of ramen. Highly recommend this spot for ramen lovers and anyone looking for a fun dining experience!

Even though they were busy the wait was not very long and the host was so nice and I wish I could remember his name. Our server was so nice and kind and made great recommendations. I had the mocktail Nohito and it was sooo cute and delicious! The others had cocktails and a bottle of coke (yes glass bottle)- cute right?! Now we had the Karange tofu and I need that recipe! The crispiest most flavorful tofu outside and nice and soft inside. Couldn't tell it wasn't chicken! We also had oysters. For dinner I had the Katsu Curry and it was on point! And the leftovers were just as delicious. My sister had the Tantanmen and it was sooo good!! I could drink that broth. They do give you options for rice instead of noodles and broth if you like options. We also shared the Glazed tofu and yall it will change your LIFE!!! Cute monkeys hanging out everywhere with beautiful string lights and a classy understated tiki vibe. Please go here if you haven't yet. You'll thank me later

The drinks, the ramen, the dessert...we love it all, and we love spending our money at a local business. For years now, the kitchen has substituted rice for ramen for me because I have gluten intolerance. I have always asked respectfully, explained why, and said thank you, every single time. Tonight my husband and I walked down to Strangebird for dinner, ordered drinks and dinner, and I had *just* said to my husband that Strangebird has come to feel like a second home. Then the server came out and told us that the chef has decided they will no longer permit any modifications, including those that meet dietary needs. We were out on the quiet patio surrounded by other customers, so on top of being totally blindsided, it was actually pretty embarrassing, too. Folks, let me tell you how much I wish I could just eat the ramen noodles like everybody else. So much food that I love (and in some cases spent years learning to make myself) went out the window forever when my body stopped being able to handle wheat. But at Strangebird, I could still go in and enjoy the depth of flavor in every other component of a bowl of ramen. And that meant the absolute world to me. I'm heartbroken.

The interior was a vibe with dim lighting that made the rainy meal experience even cozier. Ordering is easy either through the staff or a self ordering kiosk. I ordered a Hokkaido Miso ramen and sat down. Before I could pull out my phone my ramen came out piping hot. As I sipped and slurped my way through the ramen I tasted a rich and savory broth. It had a soft red miso flavor to it which complimented the fresh veggies, chasu and the egg. The chasu was thick and tender. The noodles were cooked perfectly too. I liked the addition of corn to finish up the soup at the end. If I'm in the area again I will be stopping for bubble tea as the menu looked great!

Thankfully, Yujo Ramen & Boba Tea was right up the road. It's tucked into the commercial strip off Meridian and 96th--you could almost miss it if you're not paying attention. I'll be honest: I arrived around 1:30pm and it was completely empty, which caught me off guard. But the vibe was nice and calming, the menu was extensive (ramen and boba options for days), and I landed on the spicy miso ramen--exactly what I needed to warm me up. Nailed it. The broth was rich, savory, and comforting with just the right amount of heat. Every ingredient tasted vibrant and fresh. The green onions, tender pork, and perfectly marinated soft-boiled egg were the ideal companions swimming in that spicy miso goodness. On a gray, cold Indianapolis day, this bowl absolutely hit the spot. Can't wait to come back and try the boba.
