    Items I purchased and the items on the blue green bag are a free goodie bag I received - Pet food, supplements, and a soda are arranged on a stovetop, including a bag of dog food, chicken-flavored treats, and canned meals.

    Run don't walk! I clocked it when I was running an errand and decided to drop by. I love that it's organized and you can see everything and the prices easily. Today 4/29 and tmr they having a 20% off sale! (Some brands/ items don't apply). I got a few things to try for my puppy. I also got a little goodie bag with my purchase. (Idk if it was becoming a member or because of the sale or just cause). My dog loved the toy I got him. Love love love

    If you're looking for a pet store with employees dedicated enough to shake can after can of cat food helping you judge the consistency of the contents- this is the store for you. I came in looking for new foods for my cat who has intestinal lymphoma and needs to gain weight while still being extremely picky. The shopkeeper was very kind about my situation and then didn't even bat an eye when I told him how specific I needed the food to be and he very helpfully pulled up a huge list of the calorie content of each 3oz and 5oz can. He also went through, showing me which he thought might be good and holding others right up to his ear as though listening to the ocean in a seashell. The guy was chill as hell and super helpful. I can't remember his name but he had red hair and a beard. His customer service assured that I will be going out of my way to come back to Bentley's from now on. Enclosed is a somewhat unrelated picture of my awesome cat.

When I first took him in I warned the staff that he can sometimes be mouthy (he's a husky mix - very communicative about what he likes/doesn't like - but not aggressive). It took a few visits but the last 2-3 he's been getting rave reviews on how good he was doing. So 6 months in, I drop him off for his usual and get a call an hour later with a vague description that he "came after" the bather and "got her sweatshirt", so they wouldn't finish the groom. I go to pick him up, they charged me half price for barely a bath and were very obviously treating me like a second class citizen. I asked for video footage (as I feel is my right) so I can understand the full picture and work with him on it and also be able to communicate in the future things he likes/doesn't like. I don't know what "go after" means in this context, I think they didn't want to say "attacked" but I know my dog and he wouldn't do that unprovoked or without clearly communicating in advance. When I asked for video footage the salon went quiet and it got awkward (again I explained why - I got a vague explanation I deserve to know the full picture) and I was told the owner would follow up with me on it. They made me go in the back to get him, he's soaking wet in his crate, very diminished. It wasn't said explicitly but I got the insinuation that we wouldn't be allowed back. He spent the rest of the day at home in a very defensive/protective state. Since this, the owner has not called me on the date they said she would and I still have received no further context or information as to what happened. I'm disappointed they wouldn't give someone who'd been coming regularly more information and treat them so coldly. Giving two stars because we had previous good experiences on the surface, but questioning a lot of that after this incident.

At 9:15 AM on the day of the appointment, they called to inform me that Nora had called out, so my appointment had to be rescheduled. While I understood these things happen, they rescheduled me for the next day at 2:30 PM without informing me it would be with a different groomer. When I checked my dog in with the new groomer, Austin, everything seemed fine initially. However, I received a call ONE HOUR LATER saying my dog was "ready for pickup." The person on the phone started rambling about how my dog's tongue was cut and bleeding, repeatedly referring to my dog as a "he," which made me question if they had the right client. I asked if my dog was okay, and he assured me she was fine but said it was policy to discontinue services. This wasn't true because a previous groomer had nicked her ear, yet her haircut was still completed. I asked if the haircut was half-finished, and he confirmed it was. When I asked what I should do, he suggested rebooking for another time. Upon arrival, I saw my dog's nose had been shaved down to the skin. When I asked Austin why, he said he didn't finish the face and then walked away. Since then, my dog has been rubbing her face a lot due to the irritation from being shaved bald. The person at the front desk suggested booking for the following week, but I explained we were leaving for vacation, which is why I had booked the original appointment. They then rebooked for Monday. My fiancé had to take the morning off from work to get her finished, which only took 30 minutes because she was nearly done when Austin discontinued the service, apparently because he isn't used to dogs that lick. When my fiancé asked if we would be charged full price, given the rescheduling, the time off work, and the inconvenience of picking her up in the pouring rain one hour after dropping her off, and the groomer cutting her tongue, the groomer said yes and charged him the full $85. Antoinette did a great job finishing up her haircut, but she couldn't fix her nose that was shaved so close by Austin.

The package was delivered broken, with the box damaged and litter spilled everywhere. This alone was unacceptable. My wife contacted Petco customer service requesting a replacement, but we were told that phone support could not help and that the item must be returned to a local Petco store. I went to the Petco location at 6236 N Western Ave, carrying the damaged 40-lb litter. The store manager, Cairo could not locate the order and he needs Petco app to find it but he App was was on my wife's phone. As a result, I had to return home to retrieve her phone. I asked a very reasonable question: whether I could leave the 40-lb damaged box at the store while I went home and came back. The manager refused and told me I had to take it with me. This forced me to carry and transport a heavy, broken box back and forth, wasting time and causing unnecessary physical strain. The round trip took approximately 15 minutes and was entirely avoidable. When I returned with my wife's phone, I showed him the app and two photos clearly indicating that the order was split. Only then did he locate the order using the second tracking number and process the refund. This raises a serious question: Why could the order not be found initially when the split shipment information was already visible?(it's clearly show that the order was split on the picture I showed him at the store) And more importantly, why was I treated in a way that made the return process unnecessarily difficult and burdensome? While the damaged delivery itself was frustrating, what upset me most was the lack of consideration and poor treatment during the return process. Customers should not be made to suffer because of Petco's delivery and system issues. As a result of this experience, I have already decided that my family will no longer use Petco, even if prices are lower than competitors such as Amazon. I will also be sharing this experience with friends and family and specifically advising them to avoid the Petco location at 6236 N Western Ave. I expect this complaint to be taken seriously and addressed appropriately. This level of service is unacceptable from a company of Petco's size.

Y'all should really look into that, maybe it's your carpeting or air duct vent filters or something that needs replacing. It's quite rancid and has almost made me gag. Also, out of nowhere this location stopped stocking pretty much ALL of the flavors of canned wet food that I had been purchasing for ages. When I inquired about it the store employees had no information, even though this is the Petco house brand of canned food that has been available for many years. Their only advice was to "try buying it online". Well, no thanks. I found a brand of canned food from PetSmart for a comparable price, so I've switched.

Additionally, he had begun to gain quite a bit of weight. I was surprised by the large selection of dog foods and the variety of types of food (wet, dry, frozen, etc). However, most important was the competent, professional (yet friendly) clerk who assisted me. Amet (the clerk) knew exactly what was in the dog food I was currently using even though they do not sell it at Bentley's. She asked about a number of other aspects of my feeding routine, and then gave me large samples of 3 different brands of dog food to try with my Pug. She was very interested in my situation and knowledgeable about the ingredients in a dizzying array of dog foods. She made all the information manageable. I am happy to say it's been a few weeks since my initial visit and my Pug's digestive issues have improved dramatically. The samples were really helpful because it turned out that he really disliked one of them (I have never known a Pug to reject any type of food). It would have been a disastrous problem if I had purchased an entire bag of the food and he didn't like it. Really, the samples and knowledgeable staff set Bentley's apart from most fancy pet shops. They are very serious about dog food! And the staff can't be beat in terms of knowledge, interest, and friendly helpful attitude.
