I wish I could uproot this gem to Carroll Gardens. I love it. I found out on Instagram that Amuni…read morewould be serving some specials at the Bay Ridge 3rd Avenue Festival which was held today. I was set on going and immediately knew I would head straight to Amuni upon arrival for a good lunch. The street fair was fun and I walked many steps, but my highlight was the food at Amuni. Mini Panelle Sandwiches, Sfingione (with or without anchovies), Octopus, Arancini and fresh Limonata were some of the specials. I had a mini Panelle Sandwich, Sfingione with Anchovies and a fresh Limonate (lemonade). If these foods sound foreign, it's because this is authentic Sicilian food. Delicious and comforting. Everything was excellent--- I didn't expect otherwise. I had the pleasure of seeing chef/owner Vincent again who is always so pleasant and welcoming. We ate indoors in the cozy space. Since I am half Sicilian, I am appreciative to enjoy food that brings back memories of my childhood. Amuni accomplishes that for me. Solid gold.

Stopped by post work train ride.. I was starving and in the mood for a quick bite. I've passed this…read morerestaurant a few times and made a point to stop by. The restaurant is small but cozy with a few tables. They offer traditional Mexican food such as tac, Tortas, salads, enchiladas and even breakfast. I ordered two small Tacos with chicken, there are two sizes small and large to choose from. You also have a choice of tortilla: corn or plain. There is also a really nice "fixins" bar where you will find sauces, vegetables and limes to accompany your food. I chose the verde sauce and limes to complement my tacos. Result: the chicken tacos were fresh and delicious, the fresh cilantro, chicken, sauce and lime hit the spot. I will order the large size tacos next time and try my favorite, horchata. The restaurant is clean, even the fixins bar looked well organized and stocked for 6pm hour and the service is friendly. Take R train to last stop Bay Ridge 95th and exit through 93rd and 4th Avenue exit and walk @5 minutes

Boca Del Cielo - Bay Ridge Brunch Gem…read more I stopped by Boca de Cielo in the Bay Ridge area for brunch with the kids, and it turned out to be such a cozy and welcoming spot. You order your food at the front counter, and while we waited, the owner surprised us with a complimentary almond croissant since it was our first visit. It was absolutely delicious -- flaky, fresh, and easily one of the best almond croissants I've ever had. The menu has a great variety of options. We went with the steak and eggs and buttermilk street pancakes. The steak was tender and full of flavor, the home fries were seasoned perfectly, and the pancakes were fluffy and delicious. We also tried the Tropical Bliss Juice, a refreshing blend of pineapple, mango, and orange that's freshly pressed to order. From the warm decor to the amazing food and friendly service, everything about this place was fantastic. I can't wait to come back and try more items on their menu!

Came here to eat tacos and they were super dry. The biggest reason i'm writing this review is…read morebecause the lady we ordered tacos with knew there was a price change different than on the menu and did not tell us. I ordered 3 tacos for $9.00 and she didn't notify me of any change. the menu also showed 3 tacos for 9$. after eating i went up to pay and the lady said there was a price change and they didn't update the menu in two months. I took a photo of where she said and she said that's how they get you. Totally not cool to do this to customers as obviously no one would notice. Writing this review to notify others in case they ever go here. They charged 12$ for the tacos instead of 9$ as it showed on the menu. Will never come back again.

This Mexican restaurant hasn't been open for long, they're pretty brand new but their food is…read morepretty good! Ordered from here a few times never had a bad experience with them. Decided to order for pick up while the COVID-19 quarantine is still going on. Restaurants currently aren't allowing dine in service so pick up was the only option. Placed an order for: * 3 orders of Soft tacos (Mexican style) - chicken(Pollo), grilled beef (asada), and pork (carnitas) * 2 burritos - Grilled beef (Cecina) and Tinga/Spicy chicken & Chipotle * Fried chicken breast sandwich (Milanese de Pollo) * Fried Yucca (Yuca Frita) * Shrimp in Garlic sauce * Grilled beef with cheese enchilada topped with mole sauce & vegetables served with guacamole Food took 35 minutes or less to prepare, walked in for pick up and the place was very clean. - Tacos were good, served fresh with guacamole on all of them. Would not recommend the chicken because it was a little bit on the dry side and it was like chopped up. Personal opinion but it was okay. Carnitas and beef were amazing. Would recommend. I asked for the spicy sauce to be on the side for all orders. You can't mix and match your order for tacos so if you order one order of tacos it would all be the same choice of meat - Burritos were good, very filling. Would recommend the beef over the chicken - Fried chicken breast sandwich had a twist in it this time, it had some kind of spicy sauce but overall still tasty. If you don't want spicy you would ask specifically for it to be excluded - Fried Yucca was really surprisingly good! Would recommend to others. Fried to perfection and by the time I picked up and brought it to share it was crispy but soft on the inside. Went well with the green tomatillo and sauce from the garlic shrimp. - Shrimp and Garlic was pretty damn good too. Served with rice and beans and tortillas on the side. The sauce for the shrimp was really good and it wasn't oily. Paired perfectly with the rice and beans. - Grilled beef with cheese enchilada topped with mole sauce & vegetables served with guacamole was interesting. Definitely worth the money ($16) because it also came with rice and beans and tortillas. The beef was so tender and soft, didn't need a lot of effort to cut and it was also served with cactus as part of the veggies! Definitely not something I'd usually order but the dish was good too. Noticed there was no guacamole with it but it was still fine. The enchilada was a little weird but it's just my personal opinion. Overall I would recommend coming to this place because the food is worth it for your money and it's tasty.
