Excellent place to try some locally brewed beer and hangout with friends! I especially love coming to hang out for trivia night!

Went here for trivia and this is going to be our new go to place! They have great beers and I love that you can get a flight to try a few different ones. I tried the tapalope, no carrot all, b passionate, and college water and they were all super tasty but I think the tapalope was my favorite. It had such a good flavor but wasn't too hoppy. We also got the pretzel sticks and they were exactly what I wanted - very salty and chewy, and the cheese sauce and mustard were the perfect accompaniments. They had lots of seating and our server was super nice and came to check on us a bunch. Great place to stop in benson!
This space is very nice, the staff is friendly, and the service was quick! We went for the Omaha Restaurant Week menu and also had an order of fish and chips! For $16 the fish and chips were great! Nice large pieces of fish, decent fries and a nice dipping sauce! The Restaurant Week menu was okay, I had anticipated the cauliflower to be a whole plate of just cauliflower but it was a few pieces on some lettuce. Not bad just not my jam. The steak was good, the potatoes that were with it were okay, they were missing something but I couldn't figure out what, just a little bland and didn't blend well with the steak. The lemon bar was LOVELY! I really liked them, not too sweet or tart and had a cute little burnt lemon on top! I had the red sangria (a summer special) and we had a glass of college water (one of their permanent beers), both were great! The sangria had cider in it which was so great, a fun take on the usual sangria, the college water tasted just like a light beer you could drink for hours at a hot sports game. Overall, a great experience and pretty good food!
Benson Brewery is a solid staple in the Benson neighborhood, with great beer/drinks selection and pretty tasty food options. The interior decor is very diner-style, with a long booth along one side, and bar seating on the other. The open kitchen can be seen at the far end of the restaurant, which is always kind of nice to see. There is a side room that's great for overflow on busy days or for larger groups/events. A few tables and chairs are also out front on the patio. My favorite beer they have is the Blonde Bunny when I want something lighter. A lot of their other beer options are sours or IPAs or darker, which I know is some people's cup of tea - just not mine Appetizer-wise, I love the Brussels Sprouts, but they seem to have changed a little over the years. This past time there was a lot less balsamic, and some type of fruit/vegetable (maybe the candied oranges?) that had a numbing effect on my mouth. My friend who had the same app agreed, so it wasn't just me. Still tasty and all, but just different from previous times I had ordered it. The Brew Fries are absolutely delicious, with house seasoning and a few dips you can order, including a homemade ranch that was to die for. And then there's my favorite entree/sandwich - the pork tenderloin! It's breaded to perfection, the aioli is super yummy (I always order extra), and the bun comes all toasty and divine. I have never gotten a good photo of this, because it gets gobbled up so quickly! The service was great the last time we were there with a group of 17 (!!!) so kudos to the staff in putting up with us :-) I would definitely recommend Benson Brewery for a quick bite, great beer, or to catch a game.
Ordered the mustard ipa chicken wings and order of fries. Fries were good. Freshly made and hand cut. Could use a little salt. Wings on the other hand... nothing good I can say about them. They were bland, and soft. Absolutely no flavor whatsoever. That's about it. Tried to get through one but couldn't. Definitely will not do any of their food in the future.
Love this place quality beer. Tasty we've been coming here for years and the beer is always really good. The burger is always very good too. I had the brew.
We headed to Benson Brewery in Omaha with the whole family. This brewery is bigger than it looks from the outside, and it strikes the right balance between quirky and casual. It seems to be a great spot for date night and casual get-togethers with friends or family. I ordered the Bacon Bleu Burger, and it came cooked to perfection - I loved the blend of the bacon and tangy blue cheese. My husband was super-happy about the vegetarian options, including Vegan Gyro, Black Bean Burger, and Seitan Vegan Wings. It's pretty rare to find that many veggie options on a smaller menu like this. Our server was so friendly and frequently checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. The prices are a bit on the high side, but the quality and flavors made it all worthwhile. And the guys raved about the beers, so that was an extra plus! Overall, great experience!!
Can't beat a good burger! Good tasting beer too. Always good conversations and atmosphere when going in.
Sadly Benson Brewery did not live up to the hype. We got two seasonal beers and the mainstay sour. The beers were all good. We followed that with the pretzel sticks and brussel sprouts. The Brussels sprouts were the highlight of the meal. A uniquely prepared dish with oranges. It was the burgers where things took a turn. The menu states made to order, warns about undercookedeat, etc. And the waitress asked how we wanted them made. Our three burgers were supposed to be medium and medium rare but all were well done. If you aren't going to even attempt to make them as ordered, why ask? There are so many great Benson restaurants that we probably won't be back, but if we do return we will stick to beer and apps.
I enjoyed this place specifically for the vegan options. I had the gyro and the wings and if I had choose between I'd go for the gyro. There were a lot of beer options to choose from but they're all quality options. They have TVs if you want to watch the game and they have room for your friends to meet up! Overall for food and drink purposes it's a solid pick if you're in the area. Also if you have time to stop by during happy hour I'd recommend.
Went to benson Brewery yesterday for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised. Very nice inside. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I regret not trying the beer as I've heard it's good. Now to the food. I ordered the black bean burger with a salad for the side and wife has the fish n chips. First my salad was very good. Fresh cherry tomatoes and the vinaigrette was lovely! The black bean burger was good. Many I've had are dry but this one was not in the least bit. The fish was a tad greasy but very tasty. And omg the malt vinegar aioli is the BOMB!!!!! Will for sure be back !
I like Benson Brewery. For one, the beer is consistently great especially considering their ever-rotating list of seasonal and experimental house made brews. The atmosphere is also very inviting. From the new banquet room to the cozy little bar to the fantastic outdoor seating area that's hidden out back, it's all very modern-urban-chic. The one thing I've had inconsistencies with is the food. Three out of four times my meal was excellent -- quality, fresh ingredients comprise the deliciousness that is their house salad and mahi-mahi sandwich. They also make a mighty-fine burger and not-too-shabby fish tacos (even though I'm never too keen on the flour tortillas, well, from anywhere). My saddest moment was when I popped in for a beer and an appetizer before heading to another event down Maple Street. The beer, as always, was great. But my hummus and bread app was underwhelming -- way too much (stale) bread and bland hummus made me leave half of it behind. All in all -- great beer, great atmosphere and good food, although the latter can be inconsistent. read more

Where do you go to kill an hour or two in the Benson area of Omaha.. My band mate and I decided to hit up Benson Brewery to try out some beer! I'm so glad we did, and we ended up staying for dinner! First thing you notice is the smell of hops.. It hit me as we walked in, the brew master was up on a ladder making beer! I love how you can see them working, crafting, and handing your future beverage with care! I choose to get the FIX Ale which had a perfect hoppy bite and was definitely the best beer I drank today (we had a few that night)! We also stayed to order food, because the vegan options were pretty incredible! I got the BBQ Tofu sandwich, which as Mike S. says is a little messy but dang it's good, topped with Vegan Mayo, it's unlike any fried tofu sandwich I have ever had! It was brilliant. It comes packed to the gills with toppings, and I got a side of fries and they stuff the plate silly. The staff was great, baseball was on the tube, and a friend came to grab dinner with us! Enjoyable family experience today at Benson Brewery. The cozy gastro pub had the front door rolled up helping us make the most of an unseasonably warm day! We really liked the kale salad and baked Mac & cheese both with chicken. Salad was very fresh - house peppercorn dressing added some zip and fruit/nuts brought some sweet and crunch - refreshing flavor and large portion. Mac and cheese was a nice comfort food dish. Added a Brewer's Duet (Stout beer brewed with cold brew coffee) ...Would definately order again. Table service was excellent. Price tag w/tax was $42. Also, it appears that a well established beard is a prerequisite to work here - for the dudes anyway. Four stars for solid food and beer at a premium. Glad to pay for quality experience! Will return to enjoy the patio and a coffee blond when back on tap. ........ To-da-LOO: Nice bathrooms. Parents always appreciate a nice family restroom. read more
New. Favorite. Place. Enter every synonym for delicious here* One of a kind gem that you can't find anywhere else. I am very happy with their options! If you are vegetarian they have some great selections. Got their Burger of the Day. Sauce was blue cheese w/ an egg on top. The burger came with french fries, which were on point. Let's be honest, I'll probably give most any local brewery a 5 star review because that's how I roll with the local shit. But I really think Benson Brewery deserves it. Everyone at our table got a different beer and they all were able to perfectly fit their needs. They have good food, all their own beers on tap and a full bar: recipe for success. I really enjoyed their Debut IPA. The food was also a hit with us. The mahi mahi fish and chips were some of the best I've had. I have also eaten the smoked pork sandwich, which was somehow an impressively upscale spin to a regular pulled pork sandy. The sandwich was topped with a house slaw and an egg. My house salad was super fresh and the dressing was subtle, which was a great mix. Definitely check out the Benson Brewery to EAT and DRINK. Brat read more

When in Omaha, find the best restaurant with vegan options ! Tonight's dinner is courtesy of @bensonbrewery in #Omaha NE. I ordered the Seitan Wings with hot buffalo sauce with a side of their vegan ranch dressing (Can you say YUMMMM)! Be sure to order a side of their fries because if you're like me and enjoy french fries with a crisp to them, you'll love these! Oh yeah, I cannot forget the amazing service we received while dining here! Even more of a reason to visit!. Recommendation: order light sauce because these were a bit salty but still delicious!. . read more

I met a friend here for dinner on a weeknight. When I arrived, she had been there for a few minutes and ordered a beer flight. I decided to also try one, but had to wait about 10 minutes for the waitress to come over and take my order. This was typical of the rest of the night. Our waitress was very friendly but the service was spotty and slow. I finished my water within the first 10 minutes (before we even ordered our food) and it wasn't refilled until 45 minutes later, right before we paid the check. Their beer flights allow you to choose four beers to try for $6. I think each one is about 3 ounces. I went with the Benson'ight (a black ale), the Karha-t (a spiced mild English ale), the Alt-er Ego (a German ale), and the Berliner Weiss (a sour ale). I liked all of them, except the sour ale, which my friend described as similar to if you dropped a sour patch kid in a Bud Light. The Benson'ight was probably my favorite, although the Karha-t had the most unique flavor. I really enjoyed the beer flight and thought it was a great price for what you get. It was Taco Tuesday on the night we visited, meaning they have several $2 tacos (duck, fish, lentils, steak, pulled pork, or chicken). My friend and I were torn between wanting to try the tacos and something off the regular menu, so we decided to each get a duck taco and split the Blue Cheese Burger (burger topped with balsamic bacon jam and blue cheese) with fries. The food came out in a reasonable time. The tacos were decent-sized for $2, but were pretty disappointing. The duck was dry and didn't have much flavor. The toppings helped a little bit but overall it was uninteresting. The burger made up for it, though. The burger was cooked perfectly and was oozing out flavorful jam and topped with a generous pile of blue cheese. The flavors were perfect together. The fries were ok. The prices are reasonable for the area and there are other menu items I want to try, so I will probably come back again, but I will stay away from the tacos in the future. I would definitely like to try more of their beers. read more

In my continuous business trips to Omaha I have made it a point to not limit my dining options to the hotel restaurants. This was the place of choice last week. I come there on a Tuesday, also known as Taco Tuesdays!!!! I got me a flight of beers, by far my favorite was their coffee stout (I cannot remember the name, but it was to best one on the flight). I was really not that big of a fan of their 'Indian Chai' themed beer, but worth a try as one of your 6 in a flight..... For tacos, I had some fish and some duck tacos. Really good, simple and freshly made. However next time I think I'll ensure I do not spend too much of my per diem before heading here and grab the hanger steak read more

I honestly can't say enough good things about Benson Brewery. I fell in love with this place the first time being here. So I'm not new to Benson by any means, but this is literally one of two places I just never walked in for some odd reason. I broke that trend the other night and brought a friend to have him try some local brews. So Mark was the bartender this night that I finally decided to stop in, and he is part of the reason I want to keep coming back. I felt like I knew him after only a couple minutes and even felt like I knew a couple other guys at the bar. I've never had that happen anywhere before except maybe one other bar that I will nto mention in this review (it's near Midtown by the way). He was extremely helpful and friendly, asked us what kind of beer we usually drink, and had great suggestions. So I tried their "Waves of Wheat" American wheat beer first. I'm a huge wheat beer fan and they've always been my favorites, especially Boulevard. People laugh because it's so mainstream, but there's a reason Boulevard became so popular and sells so much of it....But that's for another time.....Benson Brewery's wheat beer is now the second beer to tie my love for Boulevard. My other being from a local brewery also. It was such a fantastic beer I'm very surprised I haven't seen their stuff around the Metro. The second beer I tried was their stout (I forget the name!) but it was also very good. One of the best coffee cream stouts I've ever had. The food. Oh. My. God. I didn't expect that much from them to be honest. I already ate dinner before I went but my friend ordered the bison brewery burger and fries. I will honestly say this is probably one of the greatest burgers I've ever tasted. I only had a small bite but it blew 99% of the others I've had out of the water, save for EK Peppermill in Valentine, and the Black Iron Grill in Mound City, MO. The fries were absolutely perfect with no need for sauce or ketchup but their "Bastard Sauce" made it even more delectible. I will be coming back soon for sure to try all the rest of their brews! read more
Went here with four friends and my wife due to the good write up in the paper. Verified it on yelp of course! I had the Mac & Cheese and my wife had the Fish & Chips. Being it was late Sunday they were out of some stuff, but it wasn't a problem with the other sections available. And both our meals were excellent. The Mac & Cheese was even better than at Marks. Staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately there wasn't enough room for all six of us together in the main room so we ended up in the east room. It was quite a bit darker, and didn't have the atmosphere of the main room, which was something we had been looking forward to. We started off with waters and the Classic Poutine appetizer. They came quickly and the appetizer was a really nice start to the meal except for a little too much gravy. We then ordered drinks while we still perused the menu. For a brewery I was surprised at how long the drinks took to get to the table. But they were all delicious, so no harm done. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and took home what couldn't be ingested there. We we left I tried to leave via the signed EXIT door right next to our table, but it was locked. Hope the Fire Chief reads this review... Enjoyed our time there, and look forward to coming back, but I won't be in the East room. read more
This place is great! Pretzel appetizers were awesome, both gouda & mustard dip. Bean burger was delicious as well as my boyfriends bacon blue burger. Fries are amazing! Did I mention how great their beer is!? Karah-T is like Christmas in a glass as my boyfriend described. I'm not a huge beer fan but I like the blonde & karah-t. Definitely gotta try this place. This is my new favorite place to go to in Benson! The food is absolutely fantastic and very fresh and I love all of their different cocktails. I'm not kidding when I say the food is fantastic ... this is home to THE BEST BURGER I have EVER eaten. EVER. Bar none. Absolutely orgasmic. That's the best way I can describe it. Their "Majinola Farm Wagyn Burger" is so delectable with their tart apple bacon jam, (aka, crack) and the perfectly fried pickle on top of some gooey fresh mozzarella ... it was so good that I had TWO! The bison version of this burger was my favorite, but the beef burger cooked medium as per the chef's suggestion was also spot on. It's really hard to top bison meat in my book. My favorite cocktail is the "Benson Tom Collins", made with lavender infused gin, lemon syrup and soda. Absolutely fantastic. I'd come here just for this drink before I discovered the burger : ) The Benson Brewery has also done something that no other place, nor bar has done before ... made me want to try a beer! Today I tried the "Bancreagie Peated Scotch Ale," which had a hoppy start, but the ending result was more smokey. Towards the bottom of the glass, it was smokey all the way through, like a scotch ... which is probably why I liked it so much : ) All in all, this place has a great atmosphere, great, helpful and friendly staff and I can't say enough about their food and drinks. I've always been greeted warmly and have always felt like everyone appreciated my business and really wanted to know my opinion of their food. They're doing something great here and they really understand flavors and how things are supposed to meld together to taste truly fantastic. The prices are reasonable and on a weeknight it's not too crowded. I've never been able to stop by on a weekend, but I'm sure it's probably pretty busy due to their "come in and let us get you some great beer and food!" - vibe. Made a quick lunch stop on the way to the airport, and we were not disappointed in the least! Bartender welcomed us and was very friendly and helpful at explaining recent changes to the taps and they switched our beers. We did two flights (4 pours for $6) to try everything, and she threw in the ninth beer they had on tap as an extra. Favorite beers had to be the Karha-T - just a very unique, creative brew - and the Om-aha IPA. The Crimson & Clover was nice, and the Benson'ight was light in character for a black ale. The Brewers Duet was also a nice contribution - using cold pressed coffee. Wish they still had the Maibock and the Berliner on - those would have been nice to try. Now, the food. There is a small kitchen next to the bar, and once again, the food did not disappoint. We were blown away by the charred wings with hot sauce - the grill really provided a wonderful taste, and the hot sauce was a subtle but delicious heat. A heaping portion for less than $10 - probably some of the tastiest wings I have had anywhere. We also split the mac and cheese with bacon - absolutely wonderful, with a unique flavor coming from the gouda. All in all, a great last taste (and sip) of Omaha before heading home. Would have loved to stayed for a full pour of the Karha-T and try some of the other food items. read more

The neighborhood and the build-out here are awesome. I came in after a late breakfast at Leo's next door and had a flight of beer. Every single effort was delicious! My favorites were the Hop Box and Alt-er Ego. I will have to come back for dinner... the smells from the prep for the evening were already astonishing. I talked a bit to the chef and I will leave his secrets to your tongue... he was doing some cool things to bring some big flavors later! read more
Classy brewery/restaurant. We were there for the brews so I can't speak much of their menu. We did try the soft pretzel sticks, which came with an amazing Gouda cheese sauce...highly, highly recommend. Sooo good. Their beers were decent. I got a flight - particularly enjoyed the Benson Blonde - very drinkable and went down easy. I also liked the Karha-T, which is a chai tea inspired beer. Definitely different, but I still enjoyed it. We weren't able to sit in their beer garden but it looked like a great spot to be on nice afternoon. I don't live in Omaha but next time I'm in town, I wouldn't mind coming here again just to check out their outdoor seating. read more

Go to Benson Brewery for the food, it's pretty good. But the beer is not. Apparently the chai brew is popular but I don't like it. The coffee stout is decent but not awesome. Many of the beers have a lower abv than I like. Hopefully the new brewer will make changes that draw me in more often. HH is one of the best at a brewery in Omaha...half off beers and apps. read more

We were originally under the impression that this place was strictly a bar, but when we stopped by recently, were pleased to find out it is a restaurant as well. We were lucky enough to coincidentally be there on their first birthday, so they had some special celebrations going on. We got a couple of appetizers - bread with beer cheese dip and Swedish meatballs both of which were amazing! Our waitress talked us into the Swedish meatballs, which we were very thankful for. The drinks were pretty good, I got the honey nut brown, which was a beer cocktail, something I haven't sampled too much of in the past, I appreciated the uniqueness. It's a great space and another wonderful addition to the Benson area. read more

Driving through Nebraska, had to check out the local scene! And was pleasantly surprised. The fried tofu sandwich was out of control. Cripsy, tangy, deliciousness in vegetarian form. As an avid meat lover, I have to admit that the tofu put my pulled pork sandwich to shame (although it was still good). The beer selection is also quite good. We got two flights ($6 each) so we were able to sample 8 total. Highlights were the Karha-t (how do you pronounce that? tastes so much like Chai!), the Ohm-aha IPA (just straight delicious hops without too much bitterness), and the Brewer's Duet (like eating a loaf of bread with coffee. In a beer.) Definitely check it out! read more
Wanted to go to a brewery with some friends so we went to Yelp to decide between Benson Brewery or Infusion Brewery...and we chose Benson based on the great food pics from other Yelpers. The place had indoor and outdoor seating and had a nice cozy vibe. We sat inside but still had the open air to our backs, which was nice. I split the Brewery Burger with a friend and they actually brought it out on 2 plates...with the burger cut in half and the fries portioned out on both plates. So that was a nice touch! The burger tasted very fresh and had lots of flavor, but the fries were a bit of a let down. I would say about 2/3 of the fries were like 2 inches in length. It was like I got the bad batch of fries that nobody wanted. They tasted good but I didn't enjoy eating short fries and they were kinda cold when they came out. My friends also got fries and alot of them were short fries too. I also tried the bone in wings and poutine and they were both super tasty. I also got a flight of beers to try ($7.50). I got the Benson Blonde, IPA, Coffee Stout, and a Wheat Beer. I enjoyed them all except the IPA which I blame myself since I'm not a fan of IPAs but decided to venture out and live life a little. Thr IPA was 7%in alcohol content so I did get my alcohols worth! Overall this place is a fun place to go eat and drink with friends before hitting up another bar. The service was a bit slow but the waitress was very nice and helpful. I'd go back and try other dishes and beers for sure. read more

Came out here with a group of friends from Iowa on Saturday night. This area had many bars including this one. I always like a brewery where you can get some drinks and eat some food. This place did the trick and it did it well. First thing I noticed was a small sitting area outside that flowed inside with a huge opening to make it feel like you were part of the whole street atmosphere as well. There is a nice bar right when you walk in with bar sitting as an option. We ordered different dishes and every single one was very tasty and presented like something you would get at a fancy restaurant but we got it on a beer budget. Portions were great also. We got a sampler beer deal that came with four small beers at $7.50 which was very reasonable because it was equivalent to 2 beers. I liked some of the beers more than others because some had way more flavor than I can handle. So I was happy with a sampler. Overall I enjoyed this place very much and wish we had one in Iowa so I could try some other dishes and have a chill place to go to for beers and delicious food. read more

We have a winner here! Benson, after yesterday's appearance at the Hop Cup has my new favorite IPA! Using an old recipe tried and true at the brewery here locally they added an amazing local hop infusion with a device straight out of the future borrowed from another industry favorite, Dogfish Head. There were some great competitors there with their own variety of adjustments to the old IPA, from West Coast high IBU style beers to an amber Interstellar IIPA by Soaring Wings from Springfield. The competition did not leave your tastebuds bored and Benson stood up to the taste of time! Here's to my friends at Benson! Keep it local! Cheers! read more
