I was introduced to Ben's Bikes thru my brother in law who is an AF retiree like Ben. I can't begin to tell you how great Ben and his staff are. I ended up buying 2 identical bikes, one for me and one for friends who come visit. I'm not 100 mile El Tour de Tucson rider but i did just ride my first El Tour race (26.85 miles) Ben and his crew checked my bikes thoroughly before the race and i am happy to report ZERO issues. Not very happy about this experience. I called to ask how much to put on a part and got a quote over the phone. When I got there it was "Oh that's just labor, the part is this much and that part is that much..." and the overall price was twice what I was told on the phone, and I was fine with that but just be straight up off the bat and don't BS people. Then I walked in and got some spiel about "Oh, can't do it today, come and pick it up tomorrow..." and I just drove over 100 miles to get to this place? Ok, so she didn't know that but then they did the repair so what was the wait part about? Obviously it could have been done and was. And all this I was happy to overlook and be on my merry way until I get home and realize my tire wasn't replaced properly and halfway through my ride the chain comes off...jeez thanks. You know this is just not a cool way to do things. Won't be back. read more

Had a horrible experience with Ben's Bikes. They didn't stand behind their work or give good customer service. I gave them an opportunity to resolve the situation but they flatly refused. They basically told me to pound sand. So I will NEVER go back. If you're looking for a good bike shop Ben's definitely isn't it. read more

I have been to Ben's on a few occasions now. I always come out happy. What really caught my attention this time was when we dropped my son's and my bikes. Ben helped us and when he gave the bikes a quick check he talked to my son (8yo) rather than just me. I really appreciate my son being treated that way, being taught and engaged. The service on the bikes was top notch also. The mechanics are very knowledgeable and willing to work with you. Definitely my LBS of choice. read more

Great bike shop: friendly, talented and dedicated. I had a cross bike that I needed help getting converted back from road killer to dirt killer, with improvements to the original capabilities. They patiently helped me decide on the right handle bars, shifters, tires, etc. to meet my new requirements of being able to ride like the devil ANYWHERE I wanted to ride: dirt, gravel or pavement ; city or desert. After casually looking at bikes for my wife and I we went in to Ben's Bikes. We found a nice selection and a very friendly staff. We left having purchased a bike and accessories for my wife. A quick couple days later and we picked it up with it tuned perfectly and accessories installed. I went back the next day and purchased a bike for myself. Ben was a great help and wealth of info on my new purchase. To make it even better they offer a veteran's discount on accessories. Based on first impressions and contact, we will be back! read more

Bought a bike at the UA auctions a few weeks ago, unfortunately it had a couple of issues with the brakes (full replacement of both) and the previous owner had made some modifications that more or less made it unride-able. Took it in yesterday late afternoon, got a quote quickly for the repairs, didn't want/need to make the bike able to ride crazy off-road courses. They fixed the brakes and adjusted the chain (at no charge) to make the bike perfectly fine for normal use. Told me it would be done by 5 today, called me 45 minutes later and told me it was ready for pick up. Took it for a ride last night and it rode, and most importantly braked, great. read more

I've never been dissatisfied with Ben's Bikes. Their staff have always been top notch. I live in Sahuarita and don't mind the drive because I know that any work I need to have done will be high quality. I have a Zike...looks like and elliptical in the back, but you stand and ride it. The tire popped and the company I purchased it from is no longer in business. I called Ben and he had my tire in stock, yay! He picked up my Zike, replaced the tire, put in a special tube to combat cactus thorns, tuned up my brakes, etc. and then delivered to my home! WOW, great customer service at a reasonable price. That is the reason I always try to take my business to LOCAL establishments. Ben and his staff are not only knowledgeable and professional, they are passionate about bikes! I hope to be in the market for 2 mountain bikes soon and I'll be buying them at Ben's Bikes! I took my bike here based on all the reviews saying this place was a great bike shop. When I dropped my bike off for repairs the staff seemed friendly and accommodating. I left knowing they would have to order a part, what I didn't know was that it was going to take 2 weeks to get my bike back. I had to call them to check on the status of my bike and was told I would receive a call when it was done. I never received that call. The next time I heard from them was almost at the 2 week point when they finally informed me my bike was ready but they had lost my pedals. Again, I was told they would call me back after looking around for them and again I never heard back from them. So I finally just went to get my bike and they had not found my pedals and informed me the bike had been ready for a week. As a first time costumer, I am now a last time customer. read more

My fiancé and I had to ship our bikes here from out of town for a training camp. Wow what a great shop!! Loved the staff and how I was treated and the care they gave my bike. No bike snobs here, just folks who know what they are doing and care about their customer. I'm a fan, and a customer for life. I did not buy my bike from this store, but in the future I would a buy a bike from them. The tune up my bike received was fabulous, and they fit me to my bike too!! They have a great selection of bikes, supplies, and a wide range of prices. Their level of care is top notch. Worst customer service. Not just once, but numerous times I have called them to see if they have an item in stock, and as usual they don't, but they always say "we will call you back and let you know when it will be here". Sad to say that they never call back! How do they expect to get your business when they can't even make a simple call back to their customers? Take your bike needs to somewhere else. read more

The review says roll over the stars. After spending a few grand since October of 2013 I don't think these people deserve a one. I have attended this shop since the above date because it is close to my home, but I will never go there again. I've had a number of bike parts fail, but today was a joke. Two weeks ago I ordered a pair of spandex bike shorts in a 3XL. The owner stated that the cost would be $65.00 plus tax. When they came and I went to pick them up the price on the shorts read 79.99. Because he was not there I agreed to return and discuss it with him prior to purchasing. Well I finally picked up the shorts today and paid $70.21 But the price changed to 74.99. He said he was giving me a break. When I got home to try them out they were a different brand and not what I was told was ordered. To make it short, the guy lied to me about the discussion saying I had agreed to accept a different brand and that he also had a policy of "No Money Back" on special orders. Never did he say anything about a special order and he lied about the policy and the price. He made up the Bull about returns on special order. He never said to me "SPECIAL ORDER. Look for yourself. There are Three different prices. I returned the shorts to the store and ask if they would donate them to someone and they could keep the $70.21. Oh yes, I attended the University of Iowa and played Big Ten football there at the same time he was growing up his home town. I never thought I would get screwed by a fellow HAWKEYE.
