We had used the big company (that advertises a lot,) twice, on other vehicles, but in a year period, they doubled their price claiming it was due to "tariffs." The Windshield Guy not only has great reviews online, they quoted us a price that was 50% lower than the other company we'd used before. Max arrived on time and worked in front of our house in 100+ degree heat for over an hour. Then he took our suv to their shop to calibrate the many sensors on the Forrester's windshield. Max was extremely competent and friendly. The Windshield Guy's price is the best! They did a great job and even cleaned my suv!

*edit 19 April: Dave paid another company to replace *some* of the damages incurred during the…read morewindshield replacement his team performed in March, however, he won't take responsibility for things such as a loose cowling and a bow/bulge in the side panel of the windshield . The bow/budge is caused by a broken/missing piece of the BASE of said side panel. He takes no responsibility for these damages and believes I should be happy with a replacement of 1 of 3 things identified as damaged by two (2) other shops. When I called to speak to him about it, he didn't hang up before I heard him yell something along the lines of "oh are you kidding". Original: Price point for install of a windshield was competitive compared to every other shop I called, however while working the replacement, they broke a mechanism that moves the windshield wipers. They were able to locate and replace the part at their expense *edit: i found out they didn't actually replace this part but instead WIRED it back together and didn't tell me. Another shop examined the vehicle and took photos showing me the wired pieces. He later agreed to replace this piece but only after I called and complained. He wired the items together and had no intention of telling me. Original continued: The day after replacement, I noticed extreme shakiness on my rear view mirror while driving. When I called to inquire, Dave - the owner - said they were in such a rush to fix what they broke that they may not have installed the mirror correctly. He advised me to roll up some paper and stuff it in the back of the mirror before going to another glass shop and asking them to fix it - due to being on cell phones, we were inadvertently talking over one another and he had quite an attitude about "let me finish what I am trying to say" which wasn't appreciated. I would never recommend Dave and am considering taking him to small claims court for the damage his tech caused that he refuses to replace, as though I should be happy and accept partial reimbursement for $700 in damages.

There was no way that could be patched, I had to get it the whole thing replaced unfortunately. I've seen a number for the commercials for this company so I figured I'd do the online quote. They accepted my insurance and they came to my home to do it! The technician was very nice, professional and explained to me what he was going to be doing, about how long it would be and went over with me what I needed to refrain from doing for the first 24 hours (basically don't wash the car). I feel like it was a great service and even if I didn't go through the insurance the cost wasn't bad and they had payment options with zero interest so I think that would definitely be valuable to people who have an unexpected expense like I just did. Called back to tell them to proceed, and they said they could get it done in the afternoon. Asked why not earlier, as my appointment was at 10 - he said they had someone scheduled at 11. And then he has the balls to ask, "would you like to me to ask that customer to wait?" Last straw - I'm out. Poorly run outfit with terrible customer service. Second time trying to use these guys - never again. There are much better options in the Treasure Valley.
