*edit 19 April: Dave paid another company to replace *some* of the damages incurred during the windshield replacement his team performed in March, however, he won't take responsibility for things such as a loose cowling and a bow/bulge in the side panel of the windshield . The bow/budge is caused by a broken/missing piece of the BASE of said side panel. He takes no responsibility for these damages and believes I should be happy with a replacement of 1 of 3 things identified as damaged by two (2) other shops. When I called to speak to him about it, he didn't hang up before I heard him yell something along the lines of "oh are you kidding". Original: Price point for install of a windshield was competitive compared to every other shop I called, however while working the replacement, they broke a mechanism that moves the windshield wipers. They were able to locate and replace the part at their expense *edit: i found out they didn't actually replace this part but instead WIRED it back together and didn't tell me. Another shop examined the vehicle and took photos showing me the wired pieces. He later agreed to replace this piece but only after I called and complained. He wired the items together and had no intention of telling me. Original continued: The day after replacement, I noticed extreme shakiness on my rear view mirror while driving. When I called to inquire, Dave - the owner - said they were in such a rush to fix what they broke that they may not have installed the mirror correctly. He advised me to roll up some paper and stuff it in the back of the mirror before going to another glass shop and asking them to fix it - due to being on cell phones, we were inadvertently talking over one another and he had quite an attitude about "let me finish what I am trying to say" which wasn't appreciated. I would never recommend Dave and am considering taking him to small claims court for the damage his tech caused that he refuses to replace, as though I should be happy and accept partial reimbursement for $700 in damages. read more

This is a great local business that provides thorough, friendly, and cost-effective​ services. I recently go two chips in my window from all the gravel on apparently every road in West Boise this year and went in to see them. The person who helped me was the owner I believe and rather than telling me I needed to replace my window, he went to town and fixed it. He gave me options for what it would cost to replace if it ended up cracking more in the winter but told me it likely would not and would last for quite some time. I stopped by Dave Adams Windshields because my rear view mirror fell off of my windshield. When I called to ask if they re-glued rear view mirrors, I spoke to Dave. THE Dave, as in the owner. I was pretty surprised, being from the east coast where if the name's on your shop, you're at home with your feet up, raking in the dough. I arrived at the shop and let them know that I was the one who had called about the rear view mirror re-gluing. I was told by the front desk clerk that he had another customer to help, and he would be right back. When he returned, he said that the glue was setting on my windshield, and he would put the mirror back in place a few minutes later. He was so quick I didn't even know he had done the work! When I went to pay for the service, I was told it was "free of charge, just come back when you get a rock chip." Amazing! If I ever need windshield repair in the future, I will definitely come back." I am updating my review because now one of those chips that was dismissed as not needing to be repaired has turned into a large crack that will require replacement of the whole windshield. I brought my car in today and the representative said "Huh, we missed that. Nothing that could have been done, though." He shrugged his shoulders and told me it would be over $200 to replace. The rearview mirror fell off of my windshield last night when I went to adjust it. This morning I called Intermountain Auto Glass (on Emerald), and they wanted $20 to glue it back on. I called Dave Adams Windshields (Fairview and Orchard), expecting that everyplace would say approximately the same thing (but shopping for a little better deal - why not call at least one other place and see), and they said, "Bring it by and we'll glue it back on for you, no charge." I didn't mention to them that I'd called anyplace else first, so they weren't offering the repair for free just to try to win business away from a competitor at that particular moment. Apparently that's their regular policy; to reglue rearview mirrors for no charge whatsoever, no strings attached, no pressure to buy anything. When I was surprised they'd do it for free, they told me that the service isn't just for people who've bought a windshield from them either (I haven't) - it's for anyone who needs their rearview glued back on. When I went there (an hour or so ago), they not only treated me very welcomingly and deferentially, exactly as if I were a paying customer, but got my car in and took care of the repair for me within ten minutes, despite the fact that they did have several other cars being worked on at the time. There are very few times in our society where you run into any business willing to do ANYTHING for free, and especially with such a cheerful and service-minded disposition. I will definitely give them my business, should I ever need a windshield or crack-repair or any other such service that they do. Highly recommended. Thank you Dave! And, by the way, I also never mentioned anything about Yelp, or that I would give them any kind of reviews anywhere, so I did not get the "freebie" in expectation (on their part) that they would be compensated by good reviews (here or anywhere else). After getting a rather large rock chip, I knew insurance would wave the deductible if I got it sealed so I called a couple of places. Dave Adams Windshields seemed very professional, asked what type of insurance I had and said to bring it in, how long the repair would take, and also NOT to wash the windshield first. When I stated I'd just washed the windshield, he said to maybe wait a day. When I moved back to Boise a few years ago, I was missing my network of familiar businesses that I'd had in my previous town. I used to have a "place for this", a "guy for that". I'd recommend contractors, mechanics, etc by telling friends, "I got a guy who can do that for you...". Well, Dave Adams was the first "guy" I added to my list of go to businesses here in Boise. You need a windshield, or a chip repair? I got a guy you should call. :-) Recently, I needed my windshield replaced. Dave gave me a very fair price (better than he had to- I wouldn't have gone anywhere else anyway). In working out how to get my car shuttled to and from work, Dave himself drove me back to work on my lunch hour, so he could have my car for the afternoon. He was almost apologetic that he couldn't come pick me up at the end of the day, but that wasn't a problem for me. The windshield was replaced with true craftmanship, with details like putting the oil change reminder sticker on the new windshield, and giving the car a good vacuuming. Oh, and he worked on my polishing my headlight (I had one original one and a newer one) so that the older one would be as shiny as the new one. No charge ! I asked what he knew about upholstery places, thinking my upholstery was beyond cleaning. He got some spray, and showed me that it just needed a little elbow grease. Then he worked on it some more, and my seat is now spotless. He did that with a smile and no charge. Dave Adams is my "windshield guy." He should be yours too. read more

So I got a crack in the windshield of my Subaru Crosstrek. After reading many reviews, I picked Dave Adams Windshields because they seemed like the obvious choice. I liked the idea of working with a company who cares about their customers and seemed to go above and beyond to keep customers coming back. I was originally ipmressed with the ease of making an appointment and how the work got done at the time I was told it would. The problem started when while I was washing my car 2 days later and noticed that the windshield cowl (trim piece that the wipers connect to) was completely flush to the windshield on the driver's side but wasn't even touching the windshield on the passenger side. I called and explained the problem and was told I could bring it in on my lunch hour and have it looked at. I took it in and after waiting about 15 minutes Dave came out and said "well, there's not really much I can do to fix it." He offered to glue it down because "it is just a cosmetic issue." I declined so I could have my husband look at it. I was pretty ticked that my car didn't come out looking like it did when I originally took it in. To me , that is not just a cosmetic issue. Today my husband took a look at it and found that on the underside of the windshield on the passenger side, there was some extra sealant that dried keeping the clip from going underneath the windshield like it should. Also the cowl was barely pushed up under the windshield on that side, but pushed up correctly on the driver's side. With a little bit of work and an hour later my husband was able correct the problem. I'm definitely glad I didn't have Dave do the quick fix he offered. I would not recommend to anyone who cares about getting meticulous service. read more
