When the tires on my new car suddenly lost air, and the nearest repair shop, Lex Brodie's, was 15 miles away, I called AAA. He kept me informed through tracking messages of his progress, arriving within the hour, and quickly analyzed and corrected the problem. I was in the unfortunate situation of breaking down and spent 20 minutes waiting on aaa to answer my call and when they finally did they told me it would be an hour and a half plus before anyone could get to me. Dylan Respicio from Bennys mobile got there in no time flat and because of covid he couldn't give us a ride (me,wife and 2 kids) no uber or lift would drive out, but Dylan called us a cab and waited for them to show up so my kids could wait comfortably in our vehicle...what a hero! If your ever in a tuff situation call these guys and hopefully you will get Dylan Respicio as well, definitely made our bad situation sooo much better! Benny's towing is the best tow company on Big Island. I have been using them for over 10 years. I am a retired tow truck operator for AAA so I know all about tow services. Fast service and nice trucks with polite local Hawaii born drivers. The last time they towed my pickup truck to my residence the driver even let my dog ride up front with us. Tow truck drivers have a tough job. Please remember to tip the driver ! They likely will refuse money. Shove a $20 in his pocket. Family is everything in Hawaii and most tow truck drivers have kids and big families. They have to get up and go when called no matter what. Show Aloha to them. Hawaii has a unique culture. Austin was amazing! When he arrived, he said that AAA would not allow him to pull my truck from a field where it was inoperable. If he got stuck, he would be waiting for hours to be pulled out. Not his decision, AAA policy. I hate to admit that I was a bit of a Karen when he told me this. But Austin was professional and kind. He waited there until my son could come and help pull the truck out of the field to attach to the tow truck. He went farther into the field than he probably should have, and all turned out well. This company does not have insurance on its vehicles. The driver, D, plowed into the back of my vehicle, owner kevin benevides said he would pay the damages and is now ghosting me and my insurance agency. Never had a complaint about their drivers before. Skipping out on the damages is in violation of HRS. Maybe their driver D is trying to collect cash to pay for this. My truck was stranded in my yard while picking up some branches. It rained the previous night but I didn't realize how muddy my yard was as it was a sunny day. I called AAA. Two of Benny's staffs arrived within 15 minutes on Sunday morning. They told me that they'd get my truck out and they did. It was muddy and slippery. If you want to be verbally abused without getting service, this your best bet. I tried to have my late daughter's Buick towed to a mechanic who was willing to repair it for free. I mentioned that the mechanic was an ex-convict who helps others out. Steve yelled at me, spoke over me, interrupted me and then hung up. When I reported his behavior to AAA, he called me to harass me. Two hours in, I still trying to find a tow through my premium AAA membership to fix my baby's car. read more

We had a fast and friendly towing experience today. AAA connected us with Benny's Towing. We were quoted a 45 minutes wait. The driver called en route when he was 15-30 minutes away. He showed up on time. He was polite and hooked the car right up to the tow truck. Our car was towed to Lex Brodie's where we'd already made an appointment. My car wouldn't start after being in storage for a few months. Eugene from Benny's Mobile Service came out promptly and jumped my battery. My experience with other AAA towing companies took as long as 3 hours, but these guys were quick! My car died again, so I wanted to get it towed to my mechanic because I knew it was more serious. Came to our service through AAA when our dogs locked themselves in the car with the keys. We live out in the middle of no where. Even takes the police over an hour to get here most times.
