We had several queen palms that had become huge and too large for our planters and ever day they dropped all kinds of seeds and made a mess. Our Bougainvillea's had become overgrown and constantly dropped dead flowers and leaves. We also had old landscaping lighting that had become corroded, broken and burned out so effectively useless. Sean helped us remove all the over grown water hungry dirty plants and trees and replace them with new drought tolerant low maintenance plants that look wonderful. This Company has charged me $500 every month. That is twice what anyone else charges. There is a different crew every week. I have to wait around for them to come and then walk around to ask them to do things that I asked to be done the week before. Then they argue with me and say they won't do it. Then It's one argument after another. 3 times I have had to call and ask for a supervisor to come out. After the last crew got angry, I was uncomfortable in my own back yard. I called to cancel and Steven, the customer no-service agent got on the line he asked what the problem was. Every time I told him what was wrong he said that was really ok. Everything was ok. Over and over again, repeating himself. I've finally had enough. But they won't let me get rid of them. I have to pay them again to come to my yard, not do their job and make me uncomfortable in my own home. They are a big company and they do not care. Stay away. Don't get involved with them. You can't get them out of your yard. read more

I applied for a position at this company and I felt disrespected and discriminated. The foreman gave me a phone call telling me an HR manager will call me for the hiring process. And never got a call. To top it off he spoke to me in Spanish and then in English and told me my Spanish was terrible so I couldn't work there. He also hated the fact that I spoke English him and the president of Bennett where both surprised I spoke proper English and discriminated me asking me what am I doing there applying for a job like that when I speak perfect English. What if I just love to do landscape and look for more opportunity? There is nothing wrong with that. Office and dump yard look like a shit show. And very unsafe work environment. Failed to communicate what date or time they'd show up after requesting minor work and repairs be done to our irrigation system. The employee then gave my wife attitude when she showed up after being out shopping and wasn't there to let them into the backyard . They called and showed up on a whim only 10 minutes or so prior. They completed the repairs but did not do the minor project requested with their receptionist. Would not recommend them or use again. read more

Not again! Over the last few years I've had several sprinkler stations start to falter. They are not fully closing after use, which results in some sprinklers having constant water dribble. I'm told that after 7+ years this can happen, unfortunately this is the 4th & 5th station to have this issue, and I have 12 stations. The cost is really starting to add up, I feel like I get a fair price, but it's still bad news. The owner, Sean Bennett has been fair with the repair costs that I've had to endure. The good news is that Bennett Landscape is always fast to address the situation and give me a quote. My replacement was again aptly addressed by JD who initially put my system in. The work area was left clean with little trace of their having been there - a sign of a good job. Most important, the sprinkler station no longer dribbles water. My husband and I have Bennett Landscaping do our weekly gardening. We are so pleased with Alberto and Hector's work and value their input whenever we ask for advice. They keep our yard neat and tidy. A few months ago, we had some questions about replanting our lawn and upgrading our sprinkler and drip system. One star only because it is required. We have been dissatisfied with the service level and attention for several months and absolutely nothing has been done to remedy this. Phone calls are not returned, emails ignored. There are a great many plants in our yard that now need to be removed due to ignorance and improper care and neglect. This is very much in opposition to what Sean (president) promised in our initial meeting. I was promised professionals who knew plant care and would would properly prune and feed our landscape. This was never done. Not only are the maintenance staffers not educated about proper plant maintenance and care but also they do not pay attention to detail whatsoever and the ownership of the company does not care by any means whatsoever for their customers satisfaction or they way their company looks based on their work. I LOVE Bennett Landscape! Years ago, I changed my yard to completely drought tolerant plants - grass is my enemy! The gardeners I tried were mow and blow, and didn't understand anything about succulents, even though they told me they did. I lost many many plants due to mismanagement and too much water! We had two large Eucalyptus trees that we wanted to cut down but we were concerned since they were located above a stable, a fence, and a very busy horse trail. Bennett Landscape came highly recommended. The large crew was very polite and professional. They had the two trees down and the area cleaned up in one day. Service has declined incredibly. They used to do a good job with a crew of 3 and would spend a good 45 min to do my yard. Now they have 2 guys that basically cut the lawn and blow leaves for 20-25 minutes and don't even bother to tend to garden. They don't notice when plants are dying because there are broken sprinklers, or need fertilizing. We have to do our own pruning, sprinklers, fertilizing. When I call the management, I am told to leave a voicemail to Arturo who does not return my calls. Overpriced for a lawn cutting service. read more

I don't normally do reviews but the world needs to know about the horrible customer service given by this company. The worst tree removing service ever. I had a quote for the removal of three trees on my property back in February. They came out on April 25 and promised us it would be done in two days. Well guess what? They weren't even able to take down one tree in that time. A week passed and they didn't come back out so I called them to find out what was going. The receptionist said they were having problems scheduling me in. The easy solution would have been to schedule other people after my job was done but these idiots probably can't figure that out. So the owner called me back and said they would come out on the 9th of May. I asked him how long it would take and he said one day, which I knew was impossible. So they came out today and the job is still NOT done, far from it. Save yourself a lot of headache and frustration, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. They finally finished the job and the owner himself came out and checked to see that it was. Although scheduling could have been better, the price was much more reasonable than the other companies were charging. read more

Bennet Landscape built a patio and landscaped our backyard. Our patio has been in for approximately 2.5 months. We have gotten compliments on its appearance. However, as homeowners we have a number of concerns. 1) The patio is not level in areas, causing seating and table placement to be tricky. 2) A major problem was that the irrigation was not initially set properly, causing plants to die, and they are just coming back to health. One seems damaged beyond hope. 3) We put in a rectangular fire pit. The company ordered a round gas element for it which made no sense. Getting the correct type of gas element put the schedule back, and we wound up having to do the research to find the correct element. 4) The communication with the company began well as did the scheduled work. However, the communication gradually deteriorated as did the attention to the schedule. Luckily, we had given ourselves a buffer for an important family event that was to take place in our backyard. Overall, I would give the experience a B at this time. Since the plantings are guaranteed for a year and since the patio has not been subjected to rain to determine how it will perform regarding puddling and drainage, I will update this review as necessary. read more

I highly recommend Bennett landscape. We have a huge property and wanted to stay within a budget. Sean the owner, made great recommendations like purchasing smaller trees that would eventually grow versus buying adult trees which can be very costly. He made sure we understood that we needed to be patient for the look we were going for. His assistant robin always seemed to know what was going on with our project and the few times she did not she promptly got back to us with answers. Nick the irrigation guy, actually asked questions and clarified decisions instead of just ploughing ahead, thankfully, because it so happened our plans were not correct on paper.
