I waited a month after Gilberto finished fixing my irrigation because I wanted to show the green…read moregrass that had been hiding from lack of water from my sprinklers for nearly a year. Long story, we had a bad irrigation person install our sprinklers in 2018. He totally overloaded the valves and also used cheap sprinklers so while they worked initially, apparently when the city reduced the pressure to homes, the sprinklers dropped in pressure significantly which then resulted in lack of coverage. So in 2021, I hired a highly rated irrigation specialist who charged me over $2,500 to supposedly fix my sprinklers which again kinda worked but after 6 months which was within the warranty, he was nowhere to be found so I had coverage issues again. but because of COVID , I took to hand watering the gaps as an activity and was able to keep things going. Fast forward to 2025 and not only was the coverage bad but the city must have reduced the pressure again so now none of the front sprinklers for the lawn could even pop up so I had to hand water the entire front lawn 2-3 times a week. This was getting to be too much but I struggled to call another irrigation company because I was worried I would be bamboozled again and we can't afford that but I just couldn't hand water forever and we even thought of going drought resistant which we are not a fan off so I did a ton of research to try to find another company that I could trust. I reached out to 3 companies and Gilberto (Gilbert) was the only one who identified the issue that my entire system was on sprinklers that were not pressure regulated which is now the current standard in California. Plus the others proposed significantly more invasive and cost prohibitive solutions. I don't know the technology but essentially the pressure regulated sprinklers helps add pressure so when the water pressure is not strong, it gives it a boost. This helps conserve water and I was floored by Gilbert offering to come and install a few to test it out for effectiveness and he even gave me a guarantee that if it didn't work, I didn't have to pay. Can you believe that? Well he came as he said he would, installed a few and the difference was amazing! So then we decided to fixed all the sprinklers in this same manner and one day , he texted me to say he had been thinking about our project and he wanted to share that there was a chance the fix may not work because we had 40 sprinkler heads on one valve. ( the max should be 8-12). Well we then discussed options and because of how genuine and knowledgeable Gilbert was, I put my trust in him and he implemented his plan. And voila! It now works and he even fertilized my grass afterwards to help it along and the photos say it all and as much as I love my garden, I am happy to have 3 hours a week back that Im not hand watering. Plus, he heard me complaining about how one sprinkler head was blocked by a plant and next thing I noticed, he added a riser. That wasn't even in our scope of work. And Gilbert has followed up 2 times in the last month to just see how things are going. I feel valued and he clearly takes pride in his work and cares about his customers and wants to have long term relationships. It's hard to find honorable and capable people these days but I finally found my irrigation prince after the frog.

Gilbert came out on Saturday afternoon and performed a temporary fix. He came back mid-day Tuesday and finished the job in a timely manner and at a reasonable price. Before he arrived, I ran the irrigation system to see which valve was - the problem and then realized one of the watering stations was dead. When Neal arrived, he was professional, friendly and super competent. As another reviewer has written, Neal is a true gentleman. He troubleshot the system and found the issue, which required a new valve to be installed as well as a wire to be relocated. Before he left, I showed him some sprinkler heads that we had replaced with drip hoses. They were stepped on and broken. He fixed them too. He has all the replacement parts in his van and gets the job done, even when there is an extra job to be completed. Prior to finding Neal, I had spoken to another person I found here on yelp. That person came over and looked at things, never wrote me a quote, never replied to my 2 emails reminding him that he was supposed to come back. LOL What joy it was dealing with Neal. If you need some irrigation help, I highly recommend South Bay Sprinklers.

Absolutely not. I wanted something low maintenance, low water, and something that still added curb appeal to our home. After researching a lot of landscaping companies, I finally came across Growscapes OC. Joe came out to give us an estimate, and while I was speaking with him I could tell he had a vision for our redesigned lawn. I relied a lot on his expertise because I wasn't 100% sure what I even wanted. Soon I had a quote (which seemed reasonable enough to me), and a mockup to give us an idea of what the new space could look like. Soon the project began. The crew was courteous and professional. Everything was well communicated. After 5 days our new front yard came to life - from dead grass to desert garden. Immediately we were getting compliments from our neighbors. The house now looks so much more inviting because of Growscapes OC. Thanks Joe and your team!

They took total advantage because we're elderly and know nothing about plants. We just took out the $3000.00 worth of shit They sold us. 1) they sold us tropical even though I said they wouldn't work because our backyard gets too much direct sun and heat. Anthony assured me that didn't matter. All that mattered was water. They ALL died within a few months 2) I was told the drip system they installed could be adjusted for each plant to get more or less water. Not true 3) I explained the dirt they were planting in was old and depleted. I was told the dirt didn't matter. They did not treat the dirt or even fertilize what they planted. 4) the drip system they put in had a control that it has a 300 page online manual. Even their installer didn't know how to set it up and was unable to explain it to me. YET he told me it needed to be updated every 6 months when we changed the batteries. Of course we were not told about this requirement until instalation was completed. As I said earlier we are elderly! I asked for a simpler timer and they said there was no option. 5) they are NOT woman owned and operated. Yes, the scamming husband put the company in his wife's name for tax purposes but she CLEARLY knows nothing about plants or landscaping. When I had them come out to see the dead plants she never spoke. Her husband and Anthony did all the arguing and yelling and put all the blame on us. I have never experienced such lack of professionalism in any service industry. All I asked for, and still feel we are entitled to, is a refund. The dead plants have been removed, the inadequate drip system has been removed, and we are starting over. I was duped by a morally bankrupt company. Don't be fooled by the fake reviews on their web page! They have no place to leave a review on their web page and they aren't here so where did those reviews come from?? THEY ARE SCAMMERS! BE WARNED!

My lawn was 90% weeds by the time I had realized that I needed professional help reclaiming what the weeds have stolen from me: my sanity and some much needed curb appeal. Guadalupe and his crew were very prompt with answering my call for help. I've learned with time that most contractors are terrible communicators; Guadalupe and Casa Verde proved to be an exception to the rule rather than the norm. He updated me each day on the progress of the project and showed up on time each day. He and his crew cleaned up every day as well. As the project sort of evolved , he was very very very accommodating towards my limited budget. He worked with what I was able to spend and even went above and beyond by planting new plants in our planters and setting up automatic watering for us. They also added stepping stones to the lawn and made everything mesh and look really good together. He also redid the drains from the planter (a previous contractor didn't do a good job with that so Guadalupe went ahead and fixed it on his own volition.) it felt like he ultimately prioritized getting a good job done over making as much money as possible. You can tell that he cares and takes pride in his work. My neighbors noticed that he and his crew were very diligent with their work too. Overall, I had such a great experience working with Casa Verde. Everything looks great!
