food was not even close to once was ! our " chef" " beatriz " was inexperienced , no show and food was less than half of what we usually get ! we paid for extra food ! there was NO hibachi show , she was very unsure of her role as hibachi chef ( the one thing that made Benihana famous)! worst experience ever ! read more

You can tell they have this business model and service nearly perfected. Seated us shortly after our reservation time with the hostess promptly taking our drink and appetizer order. Tea refills were frequent. Ariel, our cook, has the skills to pay the bills. His name must rhyme with aerial for a reason because no egg nor shrimp tail missed its trajectory. It is an expensive meal, but the experience and service you receive is well worth the $$. Food was stellar! read more

Ordered delivery and my order did not come properly. I called and spoke with the manager who took care of it by issuing a gift card. He kept in contact with me to make sure I received it. Had a terrible experience last night, the hostess was rude and attempted to secretly call my mother "a Karen" but was not secretive at all about it at all and my sister had to make a comment that she knew what that meant. We had a party of 8 for a birthday and did not deserve to be treated like that at all. We will never return...which is sad because we have always loved Benihana. People do not go out to eat to be insulted read more

The arrogance, the attitude of the front desk for the price you pay I'll never come back, It's amazing that attracts the kind of clientele that is willing to put up with There unprofessionalism and their sloppy service with mediocre food, it's amazing they are still in business, and furthermore the place is dirty and has so many violations, check it out for yourself and see their reputation !!! read more

overrated, inauthentic, POOR SERVICE, and extremely overpriced. After you get your bill- you will wish you would've spent that money on a much better restaurant! i went with a large party (3 tables). each table was originally assigned a waiter/waitress but one waitress in particular got greedy and ensured she would be the ONLY ONE to take care of all the tables. needless to say one table was attended to fairly well- the other two were practically ignored all night. i've never, ever, EVER had a waitress UPSELL so hard. if someone ordered a steak, she recommended the filet. if someone ordered a drink- she would convince you that it is super weak and you should make it a double. as everyone ordered, she shrugged her shoulders and said 'fried rice ok?'.. we all said yes, that was an upcharge. none of us would have minded, but DISCLOSE that it is NOT included. the bill came- nobodies was correct. after FINALLY, getting that squared away. there was a collective gasp as everyone realized that to 'make it a double' practically doubled your bill. a cocktail is $9.. the extra shot of alcohol is $10!!!!! (making each drink $19). when the extra shot alone is MORE than the price of your drink- don't you think you should mention that?! trust me, we're not cheap people- we just all felt like we got hustled. the food was ok- but was cooked in stages. i've had hibachi before and always enjoyed my meal 'somewhat' together. this was awkward. after soup/salad, you were given a cup of rice. 10 min later you were given a plate of zucchini. 5 min. later two shrimp. 10 min. later whatever meat you ordered. finally, to top it off.. at the very end.. you were given a plate of onions, lol. who eats like that??? this place is not worth the money or deserving of your business. enjoy your night elsewhere! read more

I don't get it. Finally went here after many people telling me I have to go and do the hibachi. Maybe it was considered a nice place back in the day but I just wasn't that impressed. It was too bright, loud, the floor was dirty, the table was sticky. Must be the same decor from the 1980's. There was an old vacuum sitting right behind me against the wall that a staff member would periodically grab then put back. The place is multileveled so while you're sitting waiting for a table on the second level, you get to watch, and try to stay out of the way of, bussers carrying dirty dishes from level 1 up to level 3. The food was ok. A little bland for my taste but the chef is cooking for the whole table. The servings end up being kind of small by American standards but I didn't mind that. You don't leave feeling gross. However, if you are paying approximately $25-40 per entree, then extra for the fried rice that should be included in the entree, you can't help but feel a little slighted. I get it though you are paying for the show, BUT, they are a busy place and have to be making a killing. CLEAN THE PLACE UP. UPDATE IT. STOP THE NICKEL AND DIMING. HAVE SOME PRIDE. For that kind of money, I'll go elsewhere. read more

Happy hour is where it's at. Great prices! Delicious sushi for the value. Service wasn't spectacular but not terrible. Took a while before we received our tab. It's been years since I ate at Benihana so I look forward to coming back and eating in the main dinning room. As many mentioned downstairs is the bar/lounge area and reservations are not needed (where I dined). I am definitely returning for happy hour again... Soon. I left at 7pm and noticed the parking lot was slammed and people were camping out waiting for people to leave. So take peak times into consideration for your convenience. 3 rolls, 2 glasses of wine, 2 bud light's and 1 small sake was $45 with gratuity. read more

Going for hibachi - GOOD IDEA!!! Going for sushi and salad - BAD IDEA We order our sushi with brown rice - and they give us a HARD time, every time. Its metsa metsa if they decide they will do it and when they do, the sushi leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered a double green salad and for the price...KAZU does a much better job with both the dressing and the portion!!! read more

Went to your restaurant on 1/1/2022 for celebrating my daughter 13 yeas old birthday. I spent around $300 that night. Our family dining experience was terrible. RUSH! RUSH! This is definitely the most beautiful benihana I have ever been to. You just absolutely cannot beat the view of the sunset on the water. Met my mom at the bar. Wanted to ave the whole benihana experience at the teppanyaki table so put our name in and was told about half an hour for the wait but we were welcome to enjoy a drink at the bar and that we still had 15 minutes for happy hour. No worries... Grabbed 2 spots at the bar and 2 minutes later they came back to say we had a table! Score! Walked upstairs to the second floor where we were promptly seated. It was super bustling for a Thursday and I could see why! We were the last two to sit at the full table facing the sunset. So gorgeous and relaxing! Our waiter came over and promptly took our order for drinks and food (great wine and food selection btw). Our teppanyaki chef came over with the cart of food and got the party started! He did awesome tricks, the food was super fresh and yummy, and the service was top notch. I loved all the different sauces they give you and happy they have vegetarian options. I would highly recommend this place for a really fun evening. Just a tip, be sure to get there to watch the sunset! It made it that much more special. read more

let me start off by saying this was our parents 25th anniversary dinner. they met at benihana. Our server served us 1 drink each and then cut us off because she felt uncomfortable serving us. i would've recommended this restaurant to everyone, but given the service we received on this special day, i would urge everyone to avoid this place like the coronavirus pandemic. it was not only insulting, but devastating that they would ruin such a special moment for my family. read more

Love hibachi but not a huge fan of this one. Friday and Saturday nights usually long wait but only time food is really good. Other days food not right. Not to sound racist but the Japanese chefs take time and pride to make sure food is cooked properly, others not careful with ingredients amounts or how hard the cook the food. Never consistent. Food is awesome if you go when there busy. I use the old rule that I don't want to be there if the parking lots empty. Usually empty for a reason. Sorry, really wanted this to be 5-stars read more

Came here with my godson on Saturday. We were looking for a nice place on the water. I live in Fort Lauderdale so we just took my car and drove. It was around 2pm, so it was not busy at all. The host at the front counter was kind of a jerk and didn't say hello, so that was a great first impression. At the LEAST greet your guests, isn't that your one job? And then when I asked if they had outside seating, he said no. So I asked, okay, something by the window then? And he handed the menus to the nicer guy dressed in all black and didn't say anything else. I'd never been there, so I didn't realize most of the hibachi seating is by the window. You can't make this up. Everything else from there on was perfect. Nicholas was our server and he was so attentive. I asked him if I could do the duo lunch special and upgrade the beef to filet Mignon, and he immediately told me no problem, and that he'd find out the up-charge cost. It didn't matter to me, but it was nice of him to go out of his way. The drinks were refilled in a timely fashion. My godson is one of those 17 year olds whose appetite can't be satiated so he was obnoxiously thirsty. The food was great, Samuel was our chef. He was amicable and tried to crack the typical hibachi chef jokes during his routine. Everything came to $60 with the lunch special. Remember, we both got the filet upcharge and two sodas. It's worth it. Everything was cooked perfectly, and although I stand behind the white sauce, I enjoyed the mustard sauce they used in its place. The other exciting thing I should mention is that the Stuart Air Show was going on during our lunch, so we had a perfect view! If you're avoiding the big crowds, can't afford a boat, and want to enjoy it nonetheless, come here :) I would come back here if Nick was our server again. Just lose that mean guy at the front. read more

The absolute worst hibachi i've ever had. bad ginger dressing and it took way too long to get all items of the meal cooked and on the plate. i watched my chicken sit for 30 minutes (this is no exaggeration) on the grill. i could hear it squeak when i chewed the one and only bite i had. giving this one star is even too much. read more

This was my first time going to this restaurant. As far as the quality of the food, it was good, like any other Hibachi restaurant. The reason I'm giving it three stars is because of the vegetable and rice portions. Normally, Hibachi restaurants serve a good amount of rice and vegetables. As far as the vegetable serving here, all we got was a small serving of zucchini and then a serving of onions later on towards the end of the meal. Why would anyone want to eat onions by themselves? I know that a lot of people don't care about vegetables, but some people (like myself) really look forward to that part of the meal. I've never been to a Hibachi restaurant that didn't at least serve carrots too. The rice serving was really small as well, and almost everyone at the table finished it before they got the rest of their food. It's a shame because the environment was great and the food quality was good. They just really need to step up their portions of rice and vegetables! read more

Horrible service. The restaurant was so full of smoke our eyes instantly started itching as soon as we walked in. The waitress took 20 mins to come over to the table so we could order drinks and kept letting dirty cups pile up. The place was half empty too. $95 for two dinners with a lemonade and a coke. If you want real hibachi, try the restaurant in Saint Lucie West. read more

Average at best. I have been to other Benihana's over the years and this one fell short. Smaller portions for the same price as other Hibachi places. Nobody in our 4 person party drank anything but water, but I definitely wish I had for the price. It was my daughter's birthday. I had indicated that in the reservation and then again with the waitress. The pathetic presentation of one scoop of ice cream with Hershey's Chocolate Syrup was a complete after thought after our chef made no mention of her birthday. We won't be back. At least not to this location. read more

Most overrated restaurant. Fried rice is the staple of hibachi and it's a 4.10$ upcharge on top of an already expensive meal. They give you the mushrooms and onions last, long after the rest of your food. So forget adding it to your 4.10$ bland rice. Then the moment the cook left we were immediately all brought a to go box to usher us out before we got our included one small scoop of ice cream... with a chive stuck in the bowel! Also, Benihana's apparently doesn't do egg or saki catching... again, a staple of the hibachi experience you pay for. First negative review I've ever felt compelled to leave. read more

Come here for the classic Benihana dinners and entrees. Don't come here for good sashimi or sushi. If you do that, then you will enjoy. Service was good. Made reservations on OpenTable and got seated immediately. 3.5 stars Nice views for a sunset dinner. read more

The view from upstairs is amazing especially at sunset making it the best view at a Hibachi grill. Unfortunately the service, the chef and his tricks, the show were all just o.k. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great. The food was kind of bland. The service was efficient, but unfriendly. I might return again on my birthday with my BOGO coupon but wouldn't pay full price. Meanwhile there is a little place with no view in a Tampa strip mall that I would pay much more for so I am willing to pay for a great Hibachi show with great food, but this wasn't it. read more

Had dinner here on the day before Thanksgiving. We enjoyed the atmosphere and our FiletChicken Hibachi was delicious. We loved the creamy sauce to go with it as well as the fried rice. Although we had 7:30 reservations, we weren't seated till 7:45. One thing that should have been better was that the yellow tail jalapeño appetizer I ordered didn't come out till after the soup, salad, and hibachi steak was served. Furthermore, the fish did not taste fresh(fishy)and the jalapeño slices were waaaay too thick. Also, never got the green tea that was supposed to come with our dinners and it didn't help that 60deg freezing cold a/c was blasting over us our entire time. My 6 y/o son was so cold even though he had his sweatshirt and hoody on, all of us were so happy to finally be done with our meal. My advice is to stick to the Hibachi and wear layered clothes! read more

We came for a birthday celebration. I had not been here before, but knew of Benihana 's reputation so was expecting more from them. First, the entryway is dark and in dire need of renovation. Carpets are ratty and dirty. The stairway up to the dining area was not an appropriate lead-in to fine dining. Second, the hostess was not welcoming. (Also an earlier call to the restaurant was not handled professionally. Train your staff!) The chef was competent, as was the waiter. The waiter was nice and friendly, but overbooked. He couldn't keep up with all his tables. This is a staffing issue The food was very good and plentiful. My biggest complaint was the way in which the order was taken. Each of us was asked if we wanted chicken fried rice. The meal comes with fried rice. We did not know until the bill arrived that it was an add-on for the "chicken". Regular fried rice would have been fine. I felt it was misleading. All in all. I would just go to my local hibachi grill in the future and not go out of my way to Benihana. read more

Very poor service. Poor food. I will not ever recommending this place. The waitress was the worst I have ever seen.

I am handicapped and went to celebrate our anniversary. Well, you offer a handicapped entrance , however a very well built welcome hostess said to go downstairs to check in. Not only I am handicapped but we are octogenarian. My husband an 83 year old had to go downstairs to check in. WE were asked if we celebrating something to what I said, yes, our anniversary. Why was I asked? The food was cold I was freezing and I took the food home so I could eat it later hot! I am reporting this restaurant to the Americans with disabilities Act. My question to Anthony the waiter how many anniversaries do you think we will have to have an insensitive like you ruin it for us? Heidi Crossland read more

Japanese my foot... Only Hispanic people waitresses , cooks , hostess. I'm offended that the only Asian people you see are other people eating there. Our cook was a woman about as entertaining as a rock . no onion volcano that they make a Choo Choo train with , no shrimp tails tossed into the hat/pocket no smiles no jokes just minimal skill with the knife and spatula. Don't get me wrong the food was good just no fun stuff. Good thing I had a $30 birthday coupon or we would not have gone . This restaurant was recommended to us so we thought we would try it. We were a party of five most of us wanting sushi rolls. We were not pleased with atmosphere nor the service. Setting was down in the lower level. Tables were dirty. Green tea and soup were lukewarm. Servers forgot to serve rice with our hibachi dinner. Our last suishi roll which was baked was sitting in the counter for about 30 minutes. Our server did his best but couldn't handle the volume of tables. No one came to our table to check on us. First off, our food and chef were excellent as always. However 3 stars only, because we went for my daughter's birthday. We had to ask them to sing, which they did after every one had finished their ice cream. We had to ask them to take our picture, which they did at the very end after we'd paid and then we proceeded to leave without receiving it. They lost out Birthday coupon which was given to the server prior to ordering. They had to readjust our check. I called today to ask about mailing our picture that we never got. They left me on hold for 6 minutes. I finally hung up. We have never had these problems before. Otherwise it was a fun evening spent with family. read more

Very disappointing birthday celebration. Let me start by saying that we go to Benihana for all of our birthday celebrations. My daughter who is celebrating her 13th birthday wanted to bring her friends for a special lunch. When I called to make the reservation I asked if i could bring a cake and have the server bring it out when they sing. He said no problem. When I arrived today I handed the cake box to the host and she said it would be in the fridge upstairs for the server. We sat at our table at 130 and were greeted promptly but it took awhile for drinks to be served. You could see the server was overwhelmed he had way too many tables and not enough help. Our appetizers I ordered with the drinks2 plates of veggie tempora to the table well after our salads were served and it was ice cold. Dinner was fine and then he served the ice cream and servers came to table and sand. I asked where is the cake. He said oh that's right. So he went back in kitchen. The kids in the meantime finished the ice cream so I went to the kitchen door and told him to just box it up. They already finished ice cream and sang. I was very disappointed and just want it packed up. I then asked to speak to a manager. Willis Leung cake out of his office and I explained the situation. He apologized but never offered to compensate me for the inconvenience. So as I stood in front of the manager paying my check he never even offered to take the appetizers off the bill. I am not asking for the entire bill to be taken care of but I did spend a fortune for a cake that never was enjoyed. It went back in my trunk and we went to another party destination so it was never refrigerated therefore ruined. I think any gesture would have been a nice thing to do. Needless to say we will be looking for another birthday place. I attached a picture of her special cake. Super disappointed Today December 27th manager John called and told me he received my email and apologized for the cake not being served. Said he would make it right and would be sending me something in the mail. Thank you John for doing the right thing read more
