The simple teppan shrimp was $45 and the food was not as good as Shogun. The worst part was that the table next to us were full us kids screaming. While I know they can't say anything to the parents, the chef at their table was getting the kids so hyped up and yelling and literally banging on the table. It was like being at Farrels!! I said something to the waitress and no manager ever came by. finally I tracked down Monica, who was useless. The head guy also never stopped by and said no one told him. The food at Benihana is usually good. Today we ordered through mobile to get two hibachi burritos. We arrived a few minutes before the pick-up time, but waited another 50 minutes after to get our food. We know it gets busy, but we could've waited for a table and received our appetizers by then. (There were people seated while we waited.) They appeared short staffed, said sorry, but there was no estimated time. If we knew it was 45-50 minutes, we could have walked around and returned later. For starters, reservation was for a group of 5 and set for 7pm on a Tuesday, we were sat until 7:40p. A group of 7 arrived shortly after my group and they were sat at 7:10p. When we were sat server wasn't attentive, and also forgot multiple things. When it came time for refills of water, server poured water rapidly allowing water to land onto my plate. At the end of the course, I got up to use the restroom and while using it, I noticed a BOH cook who entered the restroom after me, exit the restroom without washing his hands. Besides these downsides, the food was 5/10 possibly due to the water in my food, the teppanyaki chef was a bit messy but put on an okay show. I must start off with saying I love teppanyaki restaurants. Been to many and continue to try new ones. Benihana has a reputation for being the standard of these teppanyaki places but this night fell short in some ways. First off out chef Leos, was absolutely ahhh-maazing. The show he put on was hilarious and entertaining. He got everyone laughing and got the kids at the table involved, which they loved. The food came out delicious and cooked well. Where our night was lacking was mostly with the server and host. Drinks came out not as ordered. There was confusion on a bar drink that led to it being cancelled. Non alcohol drinks on the menu were also "not available at this location". Refills were pretty much nonexistent during dinner. Salads came out after the hot foods were already being finished up from the chef. Then plates, soup bowls were piled up on the table making it difficult to eat the main course. Just lacked attention to the normal services of the table and guests. We ordered regular fried rice but was charged the chicken fried rice upgrade. Then when dessert came out there was no candle, no singing like the other tables had for birthdays. I reminded her of the birthday guest and she grabbed a nearby host and the 2 of them sang a lackluster happy birthday. After that NO tea was served as listed on the menu final course of our meal. Finally they take a group photo and ask how many prints we would like. We ask for 3, one for each couple in our party, and the host came back with just one. I waited thinking that the printer was still printing the others. After seeing her tending to other tables and about 5 minutes later I tracked her down at the front desk and asked if the other 2 were coming. She looked surprised and asked for my table number again. "Ohhh ok I'll get them". Sheesh! Also not to get too dramatic but every other table were given bags for they leftovers while we just got the boxes. This would have been one star for service easily but thankfully for the awesome chef Leo he salvaged the night into a fairly nice night. Which is also a dilemma when tipping. It's Father's Day 2025 and celebrating with my son-in-law, who makes the second father in our family. I was so happy he picked this location, as it was fub with good food and great company! The show is nice, especially for my two young grandsons, who just watched in amazement at the skills our chef possessed. Last night was the first time I've been back to eat here in at least 5 years. To be honest when my family and I are craving hibachi we usually go to Shogun which isn't too far away...but the wait was long at Shogun and we didn't want to have our toddler out too late so we decided to have her try Benihana for the first time. We were sat almost immediately upon arrival which was nice but I don't think the chef was ready for our table to be sat . It took about 45 minutes to an hour for the chef to come to our table which was longer than usual in my other experiences. The chef was unprepared, shouting across the room to other chefs and servers for damp towel , white rice , etc. When passing out the sauces to the table for some reason he wasn't going to give any to the children at the table. Besides our toddler the other party had 2 children with them and we all had to ask for them to get their own sauces. Just because they are kids doesn't mean they don't want the same experience as the adults. Anyways, the hibachi shrimp appetizer was literally the last thing to go on our plate after everything else was cooked and prepared and the shrimp was clearly overcooked based off the appearance of it being tightly curled in a circle not to mention it was chewy. The fried rice was a little chewy as well. Overall it just wasn't that great of an experience. It was long drawn out and the food had so many hiccups. The chef gave one of the other kid's food at the table to my daughter who didn't order that so the other kid had to wait longer to get their dinner when everyone else was eating. Worst dinning experience ever. To start dinner reservations was at 5:45pm and we checked in with the hostess at 5:35pm. Did not get seated until 6:30pm. Waiter: once the waiter took our order he was off doing who knows what. Asked if I wanted ketchup for the kids but didn't come back until the chief started cooking the adults food. He did refilled my drink once and never came back to check on us. Towards the end of dinner our meal came with desert. He never showed up to take our desert order and another family left. We had to ask a manager and she got another waitress to take our order. After the waitress took our order we waited longer and the manager that ad asked for the waitress to take our order had to ask her to go check because we just sat there waiting. Chief: the chief was friends and entertaining but he gave the wrong food to the wrong person twice. My order of shrimp was given to someone else and I had to wait to have my shrimp cook at the end of everyone else's meals. To add to that the shrimp was not completely cooked. Booster seat: waiter asked if I needed a booster seat for my kids and he comes back with one and told me the entire restaurant only has 3 and he only has one. That one that he had a broker buckle so I could not secure the booster seat to the chair. For the price we paid for dinner I expected a better experience. Also it worth noting that the hostess was telling people that had reservations that they overbooked. So what's the whole point of making reservations? Way to wait an additional 15 minutes for our table. I'd request a corner seating, and obviously it was not given that as we were quickly to our table. Or if she might've been a new employee? Unfortunately, she had a broken thumb, which made it very difficult for her to serve. I brought my boys to Benihana for the first time, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. I've dined at other Benihana locations before and always enjoyed the food--the fried rice was flavorful without being salty, the lobster was tender, and the filet mignon was juicy and perfectly cooked. However, this location did not live up to that standard. The fried rice was overly salty, and both the lobster and filet mignon were overcooked. It's been a few years since I've been to a teppanyaki restaurant. We came here as a group to celebrate our friend's birthday. The Chef was great fun. I wish we were a little more awake, but he had a good attitude. Love good Millennial humor hah! Food was good. Maybe a little salty at times but over all great! We all had fish dishes. Some got the salmon and others got the tuna steak. The salmon was cooked so well. I personally found the tuna to be lacking in flavor, but I'm also biased. Tuna isn't really to my taste, but the others enjoyed it! We also got A LOT of food! Lots of fried rise and sides. I also got a chance to have a little dish of each of their sauces they had on hand! Getting a chance at tasting different flavor combos is a treat! It was a little loud in general. When you are in a huge room and there are 7 other chefs wining and dining their groups, it's a lot. From the moment he fired up the grill, Ray brought incredible energy, skill, and personality to the table. His knife work was impressive, his timing was perfect, and he made the entire cooking process entertaining and interactive. Not only was the show fantastic, but the food was also absolutely delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection, the fried rice was flavorful, and the vegetables had just the right amount of crunch. But I understand taste is everything, and most importantly not burning the food. We ordered steak, jumbo shrimps, scallops, and chicken. The steak was cooked perfectly from medium rare, to medium. The scallops was delicious, as it was flavored with seasoning, and the shrimps were perfectly sliced, seasoned and cooked. However, the chicken breast was a bit too dry... which is fine because it can't be undercooked. We had Piña Coladas, Piña Margaritas, Old Fashion Whiskey too. They were only $8 each, since they're still celebrating Saint Patrick's Day. The Whiskey and the rum for our drinks was not too overwhelming, but a bit on the lighter side. But $8 for a cocktail is a deal! Service again was very good. The waitress was very attentive, and she and a another waiter sang a birthday song for my mom, and I thought it was hilarious. This is absolutely a review on the manager in charge this evening, and not the staff or the food. When you come to Benihana you come for the experience & the entertainment the staff put on. Tonight we had a 5pm reservation, we were seated timely, drinks, appetizers and food were on point. When we made the reservation we stated we were celebrating my grandsons 17th birthday; when we were seated we were asked if we were celebrating anything special and again we echoed that we were there for my grandsons 17th birthday. When the chef arrived he too asked and we stated the 17th birthday celebration, he did give him a little extra special treatment. The entire time we watched the multiple birthday celebrations and happy birthdays that the staff would go and sing at at least 4 different tables that were sung too. My grandson was not only not sung to but when we asked the person who processed our check if they were going to sing happy birthday to him, he replied "No!". The entire time we were there from the point of arrival to the moment we left the manager was there watching/supervising the staff. He was the last person to come to our table with the credit card processing unit to "charge" us; and we had to show him we had already paid. The lack of engagement from the manager was disappointing. I've come here twice and most recently it was for my birthday. If you sign up for their rewards you got 30 dollars off a meal with purchase of another 30 dollars. It just be during a weekday M thru Th. We picked an earlier time and the staff was really friendly. Seemed like mostly all the parties dining had small children. I honestly went so my toddler could enjoy the show. It was happy hour too but that's only if you sit at the bar. Vegetarian review: I ordered a yakisoba with tofu and a tofu steak. To be honest, it seems like they are equivalent except the yakisoba has noodles too. The tofu steak is cut up in pieces and has zucchini, mushrooms, onion just like the yakisoba. I guess the steak also got some cilantro. If you get fried rice it is an extra 6 dollars a person! We got fried rice without chicken and the soup has beef broth. Vegetarians can opt for 2 salads instead. The waitress also offered that the cook can cook the vegetarian stuff first/separately as well to avoid cross contamination with meat. In regards to the show, most of the tricks had to do with the egg for fried rice so if you skip that the tricks are limited...I guess you get the onion volcano. I walked in, lunch hour so half an hour after they opened. I see to my left three tables seated and eating. To my right bar area still empty. Looks like manager is manning the bar. I stood for 18 min exactly before anyone greeted me. No host. I requested assistance from a woman who works there, she said someone will be with you. I said ok but it's been almost twenty min. She walked away. I found a server grabbing drinks for a table from the bar, I asked her for help and said I've been waiting for twenty min now. She said I'm sorry host is probably in the back. Ok? (I mean is her job not to greet and seat guests?) so I said can I be seated or should I leave? She went and got her. The host, omg. She comes up to the desk, unhappy, gothic lipstick, slouching like she hates being there, doesn't look up at me whatsoever, just says, can I help you. I said yes I'd like to eat lunch. She says, frowning, I'll check who can serve you hold on. Rolls her eyes and finds me a place. I now felt uncomfortable, like I had to beg to eat there! Like sorry for disturbing your restaurant by being a customer! The manager who was manning the bar that watched me stand there for 25 min came over and says have u been helped yet? I said finally yes but she isn't happy about it. He goes sorry and then walks away. I had ariana as a server she's super sweet. She said she never worked lunch so she didn't know the menu and had to look over it twice to know what to put in that I ordered. She was nice though. The previous server who found the host did come by to check on me so she was thoughtful and sweet also. Food is good as always .
