This was my first time trying this place out but will definitely be my new eyebrow spot. Emma met me with a warm greeting upon arrival. She really took her time asking me questions about what I wanted and ran everything by me before moving forward. This really put me at ease since my last eyebrow wax somewhere else was horrible. I liked that they have you sitting up in a bar stool versus most places that have you lay down, I feel like they can see everything better and balance things out more this way. Emma was so sweet. Seldom do I find a place that can sculpt my brows just the way that I like. It's always a struggle and I always walk away frustrated knowing it will be another four weeks before I can try again. But I digress - I was introduced to The Benefit Brow Bar when I was given a coupon for a free brow consult. I scheduled my appointment and kept an open mind. Normally, when I get my brows done, I have to go into strict detail about what I do or don't like and how much of my hair absolutely has to be left in my eyebrows. Well, this time, all the dramatics were not necessary. My appointment was with Andrea and she went into great detail about their brow mapping process and everything that she would do that day. So, I sat back and let her have at it. All I can say is wow! She did an awesome job. My brows have never looked so great. She even went so far as to show me a few tips and tricks I could try myself. This is the only place that I will go to get my brows done. The girls there are always awesome, and accommodating. They truly care about you and your beauty needs. I used to go to the salon to get my brows done, quick cheap and dirty lol. But after going to the Benefit Brow Bar at Macy's Polaris and getting my brows mapped for the the first time, I got to see just what the real cost of going to the salon was... my brows were gone and sparse in areas that they should be full and healthly. So I decided to only go to the experts for my brows and see what the difference could be..I went into "brow rehab" :) I immediately noticed a difference. I never broke out after waxing, even when I got my lip and chin done (which I had always gotten bumps after going to the salons). My hair started to grow back in the areas where it was missing.. and got compliments on my brows after getting them done and in between. I am out of my "brow rehab" :) and go to the brow bar regularly for maintenance, product refills, and to learn about new products and beauty tips. They're pretty good if they'll deign to serve you. I've been coming here for a couple years and the last three times I've dropped in they're "too busy" for me. Each time there are three staffers hanging out talking to each other behind the counter. I ask for a wax, they ask if I have an appointment, I say no, they say, "We'll be happy to make you an appointment two days from now." This same conversation has happened three times. Maybe they're short on waxers, but there are zero customers there, none. Such a bummer, it used to be a nice treat while I was at the mall but if I need an appointment days in advance I'll do it at my salon. read more

Over the years I have tried a lot of different things to take care of my unruly brows and often had mixed results. That all changed a few years ago when I discovered the Benefit Bow Bar. Every session starts off with an esthetician asking what I am looking for them to do, then they map the brows to show me what they will be removing before they apply the wax, when they have finished they fill in the rest of my brows and sometimes add concealer to cover the redness from the waxing. The consultation and brow mapping are the most important parts of the session because it ensures that there is clarity regarding what I am asking for. It should also be noted Benefit's wax has never burned me and my skin doesn't breakout after a session, which is not always the case at other places. Yesterday's great session with my esthetician, Jennie, ended with her showing me a few tricks for when I am applying my brow powder and gel. The overall cost for a session is fairly affordable and while you are in an open department store most people don't notice what you are having done. Benefit is the place to go if you need help with your brows. read more

I was a little nervous before going here because I'd never had my brows done professionally before. However, my aesthetician, Kristi, was super helpful and answered all of my questions. I ended up getting a wax instead of a tweeze, based on her recommendation, which was actually cheaper than the tweeze, to my surprise. It barely hurt at all - a little sting and within a few minutes after I felt fine. I love the shape of my brows! They still look like me, just more polished. They also took the time after to give me some makeup to close my pores after the wax and smooth out any redness in my skin. I didn't know going in they would do this, but I liked it a lot. Of course they do ask about purchasing products but you don't have to and there was no pressure. The only thing I wish I knew going in was that they only take cash for tips. I didn't have any on me because I assumed I could just put that on my credit card! I feel terrible, and I'm going back once I get to a bank to make sure I leave a tip, because it was well deserved. I went to this location (Polaris) giving them a second chance as the first time the ladies working were not very friendly, and had a terrible experience. I have burns on my right eyebrow near my temple because the girl apparently was inexperienced and either left it on too long or it is what they call "rug burns". I have had my eyebrows waxed many times and this has never happened. The left side is fine so it wasn't an allergic reaction. I have welts and swelling. Clearly burns. When I called to calmly let them know, they said their area manager would be calling me. I've not received any calls. My advice is to go to somewhere else. So I usually get my eyebrows threaded. That being said I'll never go back! EVER. The last time the lady took way too much off. I'm a fuller brow kinda gal so I wasn't happy . I've always wondered about the brow bar at benefit but never tried it. Today I was amazed!! I explained to Michelle what happened with the thread lady and she's helping me get my shape back while still maintaining that nice clean look! I also usually tend to get a few welts after waxing. Michelle made them so so cool by placing cool cottons on my brows and really catering to them! Which is nice because you can tell she actually cares rather than pushing you out the door fast. Then when I thought everything was said and done Jessica had me sit and her chair to conceal me and get rid of my redness! WHERE ELSE DO YOU GET THAT SERVICE?!? No where that I've found. Plus she was so entertaining and fun! Then to top it all off another sweet gal named kristy applied some liquid liner on me!! Of course I had to buy it Again..where do you get all of that anywhere???
