We expected a line after the news of this spot being featured on Gordon Ramsays show just days before, but it was just regularly full at the lunch hour, nothing crazy. Service was fast and the lovely young waitress tolerated our prying questions about the reality TV show with so much grace. It's easy to forget the people you see on TV are real human beings with reputations and livelihoods at stake. I even felt a little pang of sadness for Ramsay, whose job is to look people in the eye and insult them in order to elicit the strongest reactions he can from non-actors for the cameras. That must suck. Honestly I would still watch the show if he were polite and civil. The "mean expert" trope now feels like a relic of the early 2000s. Even Simon Cowell isn't cruel anymore. Anyway, I had never been here before, but I will be back for the French Toast again and to try the pizza locals rave about. The decor the show put up was really tasteful, modern, cozy, and pretty.

Unfortunately, I would not recommend the Avocado Toast. The bacon bits, lettuce, and poached egg completely overwhelm the avocado, which is virtually nonexistent. It's served on a very small and boring piece of wheat toast.

Sometimes we never learn. When out of town, never go to a restaurant with a really aggressive theme (like, say, Morning Heroes). Inevitably, it will turn out to be a trap. Well, this place revolves around being your morning hero. And it is a trap. After bravely making my way thru the horde to the host stand I was told it would be a 45 min wait, I added my name to the list and patiently waited for the must have meal. My girlfriend ended up snagging a spot at the bar, which felt like a victory in itself. We thought we cheated the system... NOT. It took 15 mins for the bartender to even acknowledge us .. another 5 mins to even get water.. then.. we got our text for the table. We try our luck there. Our server smelt like gin and weed. My girlfriend who has celiac disease, called ahead to ensure that they had a gluten free menu, and they assured me that it was "in the menu". The host said the same thing upon arrival, but when we looked at the menu nothing was marked gluten free. We told the server we were confused and explained the situation. She didn't offer any apology or explanation for the misunderstanding and was very patronizing and rude. I asked to speak to the manager and all she offered was a" monkey bread on the house" THAT MY GIRLFRIEND CANT EVEN ENJOY! I had the steak benedict with breakfast potatoes. The steak was over done my eggs were over done and the potatoes the server recommend were huge and awkward to eat. My lady had the corn beef hash. She said the meat was quite salty and her "house made tots" were borderline hockey pucks. We would of sent it back, but we already felt like hostages by the time they had already stole from us. And here's the real kicker since we didn't get fed by the morning heroes the hotel we are staying at recommended the District down the street. We sat eating our lunch next to a group of morning zeros getting drunk in their dumb pink shirts and talking crap about the customers and restaurant staff!! I couldn't believe the manager, the bartender, and the server that wasted 3 hours of my life were now sitting next to me... talking about me.. taking shots..in their pink shirts.. I should of said something. I wish one of them would of made eye contact with me. no point in calling the manager since shes in the shenanigans with the zeros! read more

What a great new place for Wayzata! I placed an order for pick up over the phone and was told it would be ready in about 15 minutes. Great walked on over and when I got there the order had never been put in the system. Was told the order would be ready in 5 minutes. So I sat and waited for about 5 minutes and out came my order. The host was very apologetic and even took one of the items off my bill. Which definitely made up for having to wait a few extra minutes. I got home and opened the bag and the mini donuts I order were so fresh and hot still! I don't think they last even 2 minutes! I will definitely be back as it tastes so great! read more

Really don't understand all of the good ratings and how busy this place is. The staff is not that friendly and the food is just ok. Everything is just blah and not very flavorful. I agree with the other reviewers that the food isn't very warm either. I wouldn't recommend it at all. It's all about the fancy decor and the location. Even with the rising costs of ingredients and labor, it's not worth it. read more

We have taken our family to Benedict's a half dozen times over the last year and took our extended family there today. Yet again, we had a great experience, both in ambience and cuisine. Not to be missed is the "monkey bread" (think cinnamon rolls). Among my favorites is the Denver "tot hash" and the pancakes are always appealing. You won't be disappointed in this gem in Wayzata. read more

The kids had lemonade and I had coffee and our total for the three of us at brunch was $70!!! $25/person for pancakes and lemonade?! I get i'm in Wayzata, but that's aggressive! She was defensive and unpleasant the entire time. She argued with me when I requested a refund, eventually offered only 50% off, and later came to our table to blame the delay on a busy Sunday while disputing how long we had waited, despite my receipts. The service was okay, it was busy, but it was hard to get the refills and the check. The food was average. My girlfriend got a steak and egg breakfast bowl that I wish I had ordered. My sandwich was a little greasy and underwhelming with little flavor. It wasn't bad just not what I want from a place like this. The coffee was underwhelming. We both got separate drinks that tasted watered down. It didn't have a strong flavor or coffee taste. It was weird. Overall this is a cool place, but for the price and quality there are better options.

Everything I've tried has left nothing to be desired. I've only tried their breakfast menu, but I have no doubt that their lunch menu is just as good! My rotating picks are the Biscuit Sammie (my all time favorite menu item), the Loaded Steak Fajita Hashbrowns, the Smothered Breakfast Burrito, the Bananas Foster French Toast, and the Buttermilk Pancakes (which I should add, are humongous and easily shareable between a few people). Their portions are generous and I love that a good amount of their breakfast menu items are served with a house salad to balance the meal. The staff are consistently kind and work hard to keep their space clean and welcoming. Even when packed, which is almost always the case when I've gone (usually weekends), the wait times are reasonable and well worth it. I truly have nothing but good things to say about The Buttered Tin. It's the place I bring my out-of-town friends and family, the place my partner and I recently chose for our anniversary breakfast, and the place I leave satisfied from time and time again. Easily one of my favorite Twin Cities treasures!

Order up front and they'll come find your table. We ordered the Pierogi Eggs and Sausage and a Bennie. The pierogi dish was filling but could have used a little more flavor. Still, with so many different things on the plate, it kept the meal interesting. Unfortunately, the eggs on the Bennie were overcooked, so we missed out on that perfectly runny yolk you want with a Benedict. The bakery case looked incredible, and they also have mimosas if you're looking for more of a brunch vibe. We ended up taking home a red velvet roll, which was dense and pretty decent overall. A solid neighborhood breakfast spot, especially if you're looking for something casual with plenty of options.

We came as a group of 5, towards the end of their opening hours around 1pm on a Sunday. It seemed like it was a big rush before us and they may have been short staffed - several of the tables around had not been cleared yet, our server seemed a bit frazzled, and they were apologizing to a few customers leaving for the long wait. So take note that they are likely busy on weekends! Didn't bother us at all, and our service was speedy fast and charming. I'd been eyeing the menu and reviews beforehand, and KNEW I'd be getting the Philly Scramble. A Philly Cheesesteak with eggs and hash browns?! That's like my dream brunch. We also ordered FOUR rolls for the table: two cinnamon and two caramel. Both types were delish! I'm happy to report that my Philly Scramble was absolute perfection and I brought half home it was so big. Most of our party brought extras home as well. Awesome portion sizes, reasonable prices, and you can't beat the ambiance - classic diner booths and almost a church reception vibe with vintage pictures on the wall. We ordered one of their homemade caramel rolls to split among the table. I cannot begin to tell you how amazing it was! Our waitress was stellar! She brought my friend and my dishes out and said she'd bring my daughter's meal out when she got out of the restroom so that it wouldn't get cold !!! I've never had anybody do that before! She had the French toast and said it was fantastic. My friend had eggs and hashbrowns and said the hashbrowns were perfect. I had the shrimp and grits which were good - but not out of this world. All in all a lovely morning!
