We went for free cone day! It was very well organized and the line moved swiftly. They have so many flavors to pick from and they passed the menus around while we waited. This spot is located on a side street off the main strip in Ridgewood. The location can't be missed with its bright outdoor color scheme, which makes it fun. The location also has its own parking, indoor, and outdoor seating. When we arrived, there was quite a line. However, the staff moved the line quickly. They were courteous, attentive, and kind. Inside the shop was very clean and had an abundance of flavors available for every preference. Dairy-free options were also available. The caramel blondie brownie was incredible! We opted to sit in their outdoor seating area, which has tables and benches. The greenery and flowers were a nice touch, especially on a warm night. Nice, local location for a Ben & Jerry's (and they have a parking lot right next to it, so big win there) I haven't been to many Ben & Jerry locations in my life, but the ice cream here is as solid as anywhere else - albeit maybe a bit pricier. We came by on a steaming Sunday evening at around 7pm and foot traffic was pretty moderate on this quiet night. We ended up ordering a triple scoop of Cherry Garcia, Strawberry Cheesecake and Mango ice cream on a waffle cone. Like I said, the ice cream + cone was a bit steeper in price than we expected at $11+, but, nevertheless, it's ice cream! And when you're holding that beautiful brown cone, you're pretty much on cloud nine already. We enjoyed our ice cream on the outdoor patio, which has benches and picnic tables. The ice cream was very refreshing and delicious to say the least and our kids would wholeheartedly agree in a NJ heartbeat. This flagship B&G store has been around for the longest time. They have more than 20 different flavors of ice cream served in cups or cones. They got shakes sorbet and sundaes too. The taste of the ice creams here is authentic B&G. The store is small, but cute, got some chairs and tables inside. Outside they have benches and umbrellas, lots of coloring and painting on the floor, whole area is beautifully organized with plats and trees. He was able to get his first cone made with almond milk. It really was delicious. They also have sorbets, one dairy free and another flavor that does contain dairy. Went to Ben and Jerry's today in Ridgewood. Wanted a small cake that said Happy Birthday Funpa written with Blue icing. They did not have blue. There were 2 young workers who told me they had not been trained in decorating. Both tried to write on the cake but were unable to fit Happy Birthday. It was written as if a 5 year old had written. We used green. . I don't blame the workers. I blame the manager. I said I should get a discount. The cake was $37.00 Be took off $17.00. I felt bad for the workers but the writing was awful. Went with my family on a Saturday night, the line was long , only 2 people working and what appeared to be the manager/ owner at the register . It was finally our turn to order when the " manager/ owner screamed out " don't crowd the door !!" Everyone got silent and extremely uncomfortable. I ordered something from the special menu board, the girl told me they had ran out and didn't have anymore , she suggested something similar. Both employees behind the display case were scooping ice cream out of brown boxes that were sitting on the back counter- food safety issue. Needless to say we won't be back . Milkshake review: Absolute creamy goodness! Had read some earlier reviews, all negative, about the milkshakes but decided to put my faith into Ben and Jerry's Ridgewood and it paid off! I prefer them on the thicker side, which I requested, and it came out the perfect consistency! Not watery at all like other reviews said. And of course, with Ben and Jerry's delicious ice cream as a base, the taste was great. I opted for cookies and cream, a classic, and a family member got cookie dough. Both wonderful! I ended up getting a small cup of the phish food which is chocolate ice cream with marshmallow swirls, caramel drizzle and dark chocolate fish pieces and I asked for cookie crunch pieces on top. I love Ben & Jerry's although it does tend to get very crowded in the summer time and the parking is very limited. They do have a nice patio that you can enjoy in the summer, which is a plus. This is my go to stop for dessert in Ridgewood especially when it's hot out. I love that they have their own parking lot. Though, it does fill up quickly. They are usually high school students it seems that work there. Never had them be overly nice but they do their job, and that's all that matters. I love all the different types of ice cream they have too. I last tried the Hazed and Confused, which was out of this world. I wish the menu board had all the flavors' descriptions or you get a little piece of paper. Because if you try to read the descriptions on the pieces of papers in the ice cream case, it's sort of difficult as other customers are often in your way.
