Paper from in my ice cream?

I love non dairy ice cream and I know that they have non dairy options. I went in and got a small, and the service was great! The workers were very sweet. But the store sorta had a weird smell and my ice cream had paper sticking out of it? I overlooked the first piece, but then the second piece was actually in my mouth and it's kind of annoying. For as much as I spent on my small ice cream I'd rather it not have paper in it..

Great ice cream in a nice ice cream shop in the heart of St Augustine. Service was quick and friendly.

Supper busy and only had one person working the counter while we were there. Ice cream was refreshing in the middle of Florida's heat.

Yes! Ben & Jerry's definitely needs to open up more Scoop Shop locations! It's my husband's favorite non-dairy ice cream so I wanted to stop in. I was happy that they had three of the non-dairy options available in the shop, one of them being one of the new Sunflower Butter flavors that I've been dying to try. You can get this info online but they had either Coconut Almond Brittle or Coconut Almond Fudge Chip (not the Coconut Seven Layer Bar) but I can't remember which coconut it was because that was one of his scoops. It was yummy. They also had Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and the New Sunflower Butter Cold Brew Coffee Fudge Chip. Those were my two scoops. Both super yummy!! Unfortunately the waffle cones have dairy in them so I just got two scoops which were about $5. Need. More. Ben & Jerry's. Now.

I like Ben & Jerry's, but I was originally looking to try one of the many other non-chain ice cream shops that are located on this same street. Unfortunately, my internet was not working on my phone, so I just came here. This isn't too far from "Pizza Time," which is quite yummy. I walked in mid-day on a Saturday and not many people were in line at this B+J even though the street outside was packed. I don't eat much ice cream anymore, but they do sell the cookies and cream flavor here, which you can't buy in the grocery store. So I decided to go for it! I had a sundae which was a little anemic when it came to the toppings. I added crushed oreos to it as well. Portion size is quite small, which is fine, but more hot fudge would have been nice. This place is a bit on the pricey side, but that's not a surprise if you have been to their scoop shops in other locations.

I love B&J's! For someone who struggles with lactose, I never have a problem with their ice cream. The salted caramel was creamy and loaded with caramel swirls...yum. I wasn't a huge fan of the chunks, but it wasn't overboard either. I always enjoy the flavor combinations. If you ever get a chance to visit the factory in Vermont, do it! It's a great place for families and endless ice cream options!

Great ice cream as usual but so messy for some kids. Really wish it didn't Melt so fast. I had no idea they had bathrooms also located in the building too. There was quite an up charge just for a waffle cone and that's cheaper to make but whatever. For that price they need to have free toppings. Anyway marshmallow blue sky is amazing

They have DAIRY FREE ice cream at this location. Walking up and down St. George St. watching everyone else eat all kinds of good stuff kind of bummed me out. My aunt noticed the dairy free sign on the window- they were super nice and helpful and had two ice cream options for me. They also had sorbet. Thank you! You guys made my day! Woot woot!

Not bad, but there are just better local options in town. The ice cream is a bit overpriced as well.

Cone Heads is located right on A1A Beach Blvd, just a block off of the beach. It is in a standalone building that is inviting with both colorful signage and plenty of outdoor seating. They also have a drive-thru and a private parking lot. When we visited on a Tuesday in July around 5:30 PM, we had no issue getting a parking spot. There were some other customers enjoying some ice cream, but there was relatively no line when we entered the store. The ordering happens inside, and you walk right into the ice cream cabinets and counter. All of the flavors are displayed and can be seen from the order line. Additionally inside, there are some tables to sit and eat at, along with a restroom. They sell a variety of merchandise along with their food and dessert selection. I liked seeing the community cork-board, where there were a variety of different posters and advertisements for events and services around the area. The menu consisted of traditional ice cream items one would expect - cups, cones, sundaes, banana splits, milkshakes, and more. They also had a Seasonal Special section on the menu, which I assume changes somewhat frequently. This trip, that item was a Donut Ice Cream Sandwich. There are some sundae combinations on the menu, but you can customize your own if you choose. There is hard ice cream, soft serve, and also some hot food options - hot dogs, sausages, and tamales, primarily. For drinks, they had canned soda, bottled, water, and some coffee options. As far as to-go, they had pints and quarts available for the ice cream, along with a freezer full of pre-packaged pints, quarts, and ice cream sandwiches for a grab and go situation. Having never been here before, our group needed some time to look at the menu and flavors before ordering. There were around 30 different flavors of hard ice cream, which included No Sugar Added and Dairy Free varieties, in addition to traditional full dairy varieties. I thought that the flavor selection was a healthy mix of traditional favorites and unique offerings. The staff working were friendly and helpful with answering all of our questions about the flavors. I even got to try a couple samples before making my decision. After much debate, I landed on trying the Donut Ice Cream Sandwich. This was made to order, and I got to choose the ice cream for the filling. I opted for the Kahula Chip for a coffee and donut flavor combination. I did enjoy this treat! The donut was fresh (and from a local spot), and the ice cream complimented it nicely. I thought the price was also fair for the size and specialty of the dessert, at $5.50 before any tax. My dog was waiting patiently in the car, so we ordered him a Doggie Ice Cream. It was a small boat of vanilla soft serve with peanut butter sauce and a Milk Bone. For my magnet collection, I also purchased one of their logo to take home with me. I personally did not pay the bill, but I thought the pricing here was fair and in line with any other similar type of shop. They took both cash and card. This shop is exactly what you would want out of an ice cream shop on the beach - fun, colorful, and local. They incorporate various other local businesses into their products. The theme of the establishment is appropriate for being a block away from the ocean, and there is a lot of color and fun decor to look at around the building. The staff were all pleasant, the product is tasty, and the price is right. Really enjoyed discovering Cone Heads on this trip, and will make sure to stop by again during my future trips to St. Augustine!

One would think there's not much you can do with a grilled cheese sandwich, but the Grilled Cheese Gallery proves that assumption wrong. There are 13 amazing and creative choices of grilled cheese here. Don't like grilled cheese? They also serve salads, poutine, mac & cheese grilled sandwiches, ice cream and other desserts. This is Comfort Food headquarters! There were actually so many choices it was hard to choose. I chose A Night in Amsterdam: Gouda, Gruyere, Swiss, Cheddar, on Artisan White. My wife had The Queen Brie: House cured bacon, French Brie, Raspberry Puree, Balsamic on Sourdough. My Amsterdam was quite a creation: three slices balanced on a pedestal with cheese trailing down more than a foot. It was delicious! My wife lauded her Queen Brie as well. We wish we had more time in Saint Augustine as this place is definitely worth a second visit.

We ordered: the Amsterdam, the Artist, the Queen Brie, and the Classic (2 sandwiches). Three of us upgraded to a small cup of tomato soup (each order comes with a mini cup for dipping). I was the lucky person who ordered the Amsterdam, which, much to our surprise and delight, was served on a hook with melted cheese stretching down to the tray it was served on. Everyone had to take a photo of my sandwich! It contained a variety of cheeses, so while the taste was fairly classic, it was a bit more nuanced than the Classic sandwich, which only had cheddar cheese. Everyone else thought their sandwiches were delicious too. And we all loved the homemade tomato soup! I tend to be a bigger fan of creamy tomato soups, but this one was rich with umami flavor and had a bit of a kick. While this is a counter-service restaurant that's pretty much no-frills, the employees were friendly and helpful. One of them refilled our water cups at the table, even though the pitcher she had was leaking, and I didn't get the sense that they normally did that. Sadly, they don't sell soft serve ice cream any more, but there are so many ice cream shops in this part of St. Augustine that you can easily walk somewhere else for dessert (which we did). The place wasn't crowded on a Friday evening and had lots of menu choices, so if you like grilled cheese sandwiches, whether creative or simple, be sure to stop by the Grilled Cheese Gallery on your visit to St. Augustine!
