But I got the rib dinner with two sides. I chose sweet and tangy sauce over Carolina. I'll have to try that next time. So, during this time of quarantining and stay at homing and not going crazy. . . ing, we have been…read moretrying to help support local businesses by ordering food from various restaurants on a regular basis. Not that my wife isn't a fantastic cook. Because she is. But these businesses are all working hard to try and stay afloat and I just hope and pray that they can manage to survive until people can start dining out again. So we are doing what we can and ordering from various types of restaurants. As we were researching places to try, a dear friend recommended that we check out Gregory Paul's. "Prepared meals? What is this strange beast?" I thought to myself when my wife first mentioned it. Oh, I forgot to tell you that when I think to myself I sound like I'm straight out of a Charles Dickens novel. Yeah, I'm a bit weird that way. "Methinks so as well dear friend." Shhhh. Anyway, we perused this week's menu and decided to give Gregory Paul's a try. And by try I mean that we placed an order for the hearts of palm salad, the eggplant parmesan and the pasta bolognese. We scheduled a convenient time for pick up and bam! it was done. Easy peasy. And I say that because the wife did both the ordering and the pick up. Thanks honey! Isn't she the best? You know it! Anyway, the food comes in great little containers that simply need to be heated up in the oven. As opposed to regular take out, it isn't a race home to see if it remains hot enough to eat. You do need to put these dishes in the oven. Which worked out just fine for us. It gave my wife time to do all of the other prep work before dinner. Kidding! I set the table. I'm awesome. The hearts of palm salad was delicious, filled with hearts of palm and other veggies. You know, the typical salad thing. We added some additional lettuce because there are 3 of us currently quarantining, but overall it was really good. The eggplant parm was just what you would expect from, you know, eggplant parm. Cheese, breaded eggplant and sauce. Also included? Basil. Which really added to the dish. The eggplant wasn't greasy and the breading was certainly not overpowering. The red sauce was very well done. And the amount was deceiving. Although the order states that it feeds 2, it was more than enough for 3 people. In addition we ordered the pasta bolognese. Which I loved. The meat sauce was tender and tasty. Be forewarned that it does have carrots in it. My wife would have preferred it without. I have no idea if that is how traditional Bolognese sauce is prepared (I'm lucky I even know how to type bolognese let alone know what's supposed to be in it) but overall I thought the dish was fantastic. The two dishes together (along with the salad) was way more food than 3 people should eat. I of course finished most of it. urp. At the end of the day, we really enjoyed our first experience with ordering from Gregory Paul's. And we certainly look forward to the different items that will be available on future menus. If you are looking to support local businesses then I would definitely recommend that you give this place a try! Now I'm off to read A Tale of Two Cities! "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. . ."

I did a Google search for caterers in our area, and Catering by Liz popped up. She also came in as a strong recommendation from our aunt, as they catered to events that she had been to in the past and was impressed. So that sealed the deal and we went with Catering by Liz. We are so happy that we went with them. The service and professionalism are outstanding. Harmony was our point of contact and she did an amazing job. She is great with communication and always responded to our emails within 24 hours. She also accommodated our work schedule and was able to set up an appointment on a weekend for the tasting. The sample menu that they have is pretty extensive but not exhaustive. We chose some food items from their menu that went along with a Greek theme since we were married in Greece. We also requested to see if they could make some foods that we had while we were there. We showed Harmony pictures of the foods we wanted and told her what was in them and what they tasted like. She said she would forward it to the chefs to see if they could do it. We were so pleased when she emailed us to let us know that they were able to recreate the food items...and the food was perfect (if not better!) The guests at our party were in love with the food and kept raving about it. We also had a bar service set up where we provided our own booze and they provided the rest (bartender, glassware, ice, sodas, juices, etc.) The bar service was excellent and the guys working behind the bar were on point. I never saw a long line for drinks and everyone was happy with their drinks and the service. We are very, very pleased with the services that they provided (and at a very reasonable cost!), and will not hesitate to use them again to cater for any large parties that we may have!

He made a HUGE paella which fed 60 very happy guests with a great portion. The week before, they called me to confirm and Juan, the owner, let me know that he would be the chef the day of our event. I warned him that my mother is a very picky woman that's from Spain and that he would have his work cut out for him to impress her. He said he would be up for that challenge as he's from Valencia and has been making paella all of his life. Fast forward to the wedding, when we arrive at the reception space and are greeted by the most amazing smell of paella being cooked. The guests were in awe as they watched the chef finish making his masterpiece before their eyes. I felt bad for the guy as the before mentioned picky Spanish woman had arrived and was standing over his shoulder waiting for her chance! Moment of truth comes and the matriarch of our family tries the paella. Never before have I seen this woman finish her entire meal!! She was so impressed! Phew!! The paella was amazing, and the owner is a delight. We will definitely use him again for future events. If you are looking for a great caterer that will wow your guests, this is it!
