I attended an event catered by Gregory Paul's and found the food to be disappointing. The deviled eggs were rubbery and had to be removed and even though there were fewer people than the quantity ordered for, the amount of food supplied was barely adequate. read more

I was delighted that a last-minute cancelation by another "catering" company led to chef/caterer Gregory. While communicating was slower than desirable at the beginning, he & his team worked hard to deliver. Once we started planning, he was responsible, responsive, thorough, and kind to make suggestions that fit the context of the occasion without being "selling you the most expensive stuff." He showed up slightly earlier (which I appreciated), ready to roll, and sat up everything to the T! The food was fresh, delicious, and a hit with every single guest. So, during this time of quarantining and stay at homing and not going crazy. . . ing, we have been trying to help support local businesses by ordering food from various restaurants on a regular basis. Not that my wife isn't a fantastic cook. Because she is. But these businesses are all working hard to try and stay afloat and I just hope and pray that they can manage to survive until people can start dining out again. So we are doing what we can and ordering from various types of restaurants. As we were researching places to try, a dear friend recommended that we check out Gregory Paul's. "Prepared meals? What is this strange beast?" I thought to myself when my wife first mentioned it. Oh, I forgot to tell you that when I think to myself I sound like I'm straight out of a Charles Dickens novel. Yeah, I'm a bit weird that way. "Methinks so as well dear friend." Shhhh. Anyway, we perused this week's menu and decided to give Gregory Paul's a try. And by try I mean that we placed an order for the hearts of palm salad, the eggplant parmesan and the pasta bolognese. We scheduled a convenient time for pick up and bam! it was done. Easy peasy. And I say that because the wife did both the ordering and the pick up. Thanks honey! Isn't she the best? You know it! Anyway, the food comes in great little containers that simply need to be heated up in the oven. As opposed to regular take out, it isn't a race home to see if it remains hot enough to eat. You do need to put these dishes in the oven. Which worked out just fine for us. It gave my wife time to do all of the other prep work before dinner. Kidding! I set the table. I'm awesome. The hearts of palm salad was delicious, filled with hearts of palm and other veggies. You know, the typical salad thing. We added some additional lettuce because there are 3 of us currently quarantining, but overall it was really good. The eggplant parm was just what you would expect from, you know, eggplant parm. Cheese, breaded eggplant and sauce. Also included? Basil. Which really added to the dish. The eggplant wasn't greasy and the breading was certainly not overpowering. The red sauce was very well done. And the amount was deceiving. Although the order states that it feeds 2, it was more than enough for 3 people. In addition we ordered the pasta bolognese. Which I loved. The meat sauce was tender and tasty. Be forewarned that it does have carrots in it. My wife would have preferred it without. I have no idea if that is how traditional Bolognese sauce is prepared (I'm lucky I even know how to type bolognese let alone know what's supposed to be in it) but overall I thought the dish was fantastic. The two dishes together (along with the salad) was way more food than 3 people should eat. I of course finished most of it. urp. At the end of the day, we really enjoyed our first experience with ordering from Gregory Paul's. And we certainly look forward to the different items that will be available on future menus. How did I not know about this place...such a gem! Just got back from out of the country and had no food in the fridge, so what a perfect time to try for an easy meal. We had the Shrimp and Sausage Scarpariello. I normally don't like meal prep services because I feel they're overpriced, not as good as I can make, and still hungry afterwards. I can't say any of these things about Gregory's (well except for maybe not quite as good as mine ). When they say it's a meal for 2 they mean 2 hearty servings sizes. Rich in flavor with fresh ingredients, we were very impressed with the meal we chose. We normally try to eat out once a week just to get a break for cooking. Gregory's will definitely replace a couple of our meals out. Don't be like me and only stumble upon this gem because someone gave us a gift card as a wedding gift. This is a must if you are looking for a home cooked meal to pick up on the go. I found them on facebook and they post the weeks menu for easy planning. Last week I ordered eggplant parmigiana, it was on point. The thickness, the coating, the sauce and cheese were absolutely perfect, I was blown away. Never ever have I had restaurant eggplant parm and been happy. The staff is wonderful and helpful. I only wished they had more vegan options, when I mentioned that to the owner she said with one days notice she would be able to accommodate. Obviously beef stroganoff cant be made vegan but with notice the cheese ect can be kept off of other items. Easy to order - it would be even easier if they got an app? Just a suggestion. Some old people like me hate calling in orders. You can email the order in also. Parking to run in and out has been a breeze (it's across from cottage by the sea which is always busy) I wish this business great success and hope y'all realize what a gem this place is. Have gone back for dinner many times since this post. Food always good. Everyone has a bad experience once in awhile.

Yesterday I picked up the boneless ribs, some sausage and kale soup and heart of palm salad (not all for one meal). All is absolutely amazing, some of the best ribs I have ever had. Gregory Paul's is great. I discovered them after a friend brought us a premade family dinner as part of a meal train after the birth of our second child. It was easy to heat and delicious! I've since been a customer of theirs for gourmet dinners (pick-up, take home) and recently to cater a large Christmas party. They are friendly, helpful, and the food was a crowd pleaser. Always so tasty and perfect for when you just don't have the time to make a real meal yourself but you don't want to eat fast food or freezer food! It's obviously more expensive than fast food but it's a real meal that you can heat up at home! GP is not a traditional sit-down restaurant. You pick up meal, take it home, put it in your oven to reheat for 20 minutes, and then you're ready. Also, the menu changes weekly. It has been almost a year since my wife and I moved to Jax Beach. About that time, she started researching restaurants and found Gregory Paul's, not a restaurant, but a weekly caterer/prepared meal provider. She laughed as she read a review of a husband telling his wife, "Get rid of all the pots and pans, I found our meal source!". This says it all. We have traveled the world, eaten in the finest restaurants and understand flavors. He is amazing -- many different cuisines, several choices every Sunday night for the following week. My favorites: any seafood dish (usually one per week), especially the tomato-based bouillabaisse type stews, all the Italian dishes. But basic American and other cultures are always on the menu and rarely blasé. And also have a couple of salads with side dressing, soup of the week, and a dessert selection. Entrees are for 2 people, take home, pop in your oven for 20-30 minutes and enjoy! read more

I absolutely love Gregory Pauls! It is so convenient and the food is delicious! As a busy mom, I love that I can pick up dinner already made and all I have to do is put it in the oven (in the container it comes in). Cleanup is a breeze!...no pots or pans to clean! Just toss the container in the trash and you're done! My husband now would rather me pick up food from here instead of cooking because it tastes better and I don't make a mess...works for me!!! read more
