service: 5:5 ice cream taste: 4.5/5 vibes: 2/5 servers were super kind letting me try flavors, conversing with us, and the flavors are yummy. shout out to them for sure. BUT $7.09 plus tax plus tip for the smallest scoop size offered in a cup is actually wild even in this economy. are they back there fresh milking cows (or churning coconuts for the vegan options)?! the shop also needs a rebrand. the sterile hospital lighting and 2000s baskin robbin's theme is not fitting the modern vibe of a college town. next to ten one and pink and the crepe place (which are 2010s aesthetic not that much better but still), ben and jerry's just looks dated. i took my ice cream and ran down to vivi so my friends could get their boba and we could sit in their cute remodeled space. i hope they become more reasonably priced and rebrand the shop.

Have always wanted to visit a Ben & Jerry's as I love their carton flavors and was really excited to get a chance to visit. Was happy to see some new and exciting flavors I had never tasted before. First impressions is that the set up inside is a bit backwards. Most ice cream shops have the line start where the menu board is, pick your cone, flavor, then toppings but the way this particular location is set up, the line started where the toppings where. As someone who has never been here I felt kind of rushed to order but I couldn't read the flavors from the beginning of the line and it made ordering difficult for those behind me in line. I decided on a few new flavors and asked for samples so I could make my decision but the girl looked confused when I asked for a sample and just kept asking if that's the flavor I want. So I just gave up and ordered one blindly knowing if I would like it. Luckily it was delicious but with a name like marshmallow cloud, I wasn't quite sure. Ordered a milkshake as well which took quite a while but understandable since it was late and they had been making a few orders ahead of us. Overall the server didn't seem to have much knowledge about her job, she kept asking the second employee questions and he was on his phone ignoring her. I felt bad for her. Training should be a high priority for a high tourist traffic area. Overall the icecream was really good but for the price of what it was, I could have easily gotten and entire pint of ice cream at the store. Nothing special.

Cookie on top with no spoon to break it up‍

Let me start by saying the ice cream was good so I'll give them that. The reason for the low star review is due to a couple thing. First off, this is my third time at this location and each time is more and more hostile. Never once have I been greeted entering this establishment. As I wait in line, mind you it's 850 at night, I am asked what I would like. When I ask the employee what kind of shakes they have I was met with a teeth suck and the following "the shake machine is closed." No big deal apparently you can't have a shake two hours before close but moving on. As I quickly scan the menu I ask for a cookies cookie sundae where I am then meet with a hostile eye roll and asked "what ice cream you want." Fineee I understand scooping frozen milk into a cup at 9pm on Wednesday night isn't the most exciting moment of one day, but what's the need to be rude about it? Again I move on. After selecting my frozen treat I am then informed that there's no hot fudge which is understandable seeing this establishment is located within walking distance to numerous college dorms. I politely ask for caramel to which I am once again met with a tad bit of attitude. Which fine, seeing how my past two visits at this east side establishment went, I wasn't expecting nothing more than bare minimum service at best. To continue my 7 minute endeavor within this place, the employee then proceeded to place the cookie right on top of my ice cream as a whole! Where in the picture it looks as if the cookie is broken up and mixed in to the ice cream, this employee just sent it! See pic below. And let's be honest, that complaint may be a little nitpicky and something I could of managed on my own, but here's the kicker. I am then informed they HAVE NO SPOONS!! Now call me crazy but an ice cream shop with no spoons is like a pumpkin patch with no pumpkins‍ so there I am, no shake, full cookie planted on top of ice cream with no way to break the cookie into pieces or for a more pressing issue, indulge in my frozen treat without kicking the cup like a puppy licking peanut butter off a spoon. With 2 hours til close its astonishing they had "no spoons" With that being said, yes the ice creams good, but ones shouldn't need to deal with the attitude that mirrors a 8 year old in a toy store being told no. God willingly I can find a Ben and Jerry's where I can enjoy an unhealthy and possibly sickening amount of ice cream without attitude. Hope this helps

I'm a BIG ice cream fan and Ben & Jerry's is definitely one of those well known ice cream shops. From visiting Ben & Jerry's stores to grabbing pints upon pints in supermarkets, Ben & Jerry's never gets old. One of my favorite time of year to visit the Ben & Jerry's Thayer location is on Free Cone Day, which usually takes place on April 4th. The lines are long that day, but how can a college student complain about a free ice cream cone? After you've indulged in all Thayer has to offer, Ben & Jerry's is the perfect way to finish with a sweet tooth.

Love this place for when I want a top-notch cold treat! My permanent favorite ice cream flavor is the Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz Buzz and it never disappoints. Nothing satisfies me more than creamy coffee goodness and chocolate chunk surprises in every lick (or bite, if you're into that). The workers always ask if you'd like to sample anything before ordering, so it's a great way to try new flavors before you commit! I've been going to Free Cone Day for the past 3 years and always get excited when I see the annual Facebook event. The line moves pretty quickly, and some free ice cream can make a cold, rainy day seem magical. The workers also handle this popular event in an excellent way! Catch me at the next free cone day :)

After placing our order, an employee asked what other dessert we might have chosen. My partner said mint chocolate chip, and the employee surprised us with two mini mint chocolate chip sandwiches on the house. We took our treats to a nearby park. They were very cold (in a good way), and we were advised to wait a few minutes before eating them, which was perfect since it was such a hot day. We didn't talk at all while eating our ice cream sandwiches , they were that good. It's also great to know they offer catering. A must try spot. The banana pudding sandwich was my favorite - I couldn't believe how good it was.

The menu is drawn onto a chalkboard and does list all the flavors and toppings in each one. I chose the red velvet ice cream sandwich this time which had red velvet ice cream swirled with cream cheese frosting stuffed between two chocolate cookies and partially dipped in white chocolate coated with cookie crumbs. They do tell you to wait about 10 minutes before eating it since they are really frozen, so in that time, my friend and I drove to the pedestrian bridge to eat our ice cream by the river. I wish the cookie could be soft, since it does make biting into a little tricky in the beginning. They had a slightly dark chocolate flavor with a hint of saltiness. The ice cream was really good, but the frosting made it even better. I thought it was the white chocolate dip that was added the additional creamy and sweet goodness but it was the frosting the whole time. I enjoyed everything about this flavor. My friend got the chocolate taco. I am personally not a fan of chocolate ice cream, but it was still decent to me. The toppings of shaved coconut and nuts was tasty.

It is located next to a school so traffic can be heavy depending on the time of day. I went around 5 pm and the weather wasn't great so not as much traffic and parking right in front. It is metered parking which is a downside but I believe there are side streets without the fee. I loved a lot of the details when I walked in such as the ice cream cone chairs along the wall, the art on the wall, the citrus colors all around, and a water station. The menu isn't very extensive, but | actually love this about them. Each flavor is very unique and when every flavor sounds and tastes good, a dozen options is perfectly fine. They also have it broken up into regular hard ice cream, dairy free ice cream, and sorbet. I couldn't decide on what I wanted but I was allowed to sample different ones before committing to one. They offer 4 different sizes: mini (golf ball scoop) - $4, scoop (baseball) -$6, half/half - $7, and double -$8. During my sampling session, I tried the horchata, thai tea, and dulce de leche. I ultimately opted for the dulce de leche because of its sweet, creamy, and intense caramel-like flavor. It almost tasted like a cold Werther's caramel melting in my mouth, so I needed more of it. However, I loved that the horchata had a strong cinnamon and vanilla presence with a hint of coconut since I do think the non-diary flavors are coconut milk based. The thai tea literally tasted like a frozen thai tea as it was milky but also the black tea undertone was there. I did not get to taste the london fog but I also heard it was a black tea flavor. Just based on internet pictures, it looks like the menu is constantly changing (some staple flavors don't seem to leave) and there are seasonal flavors. This motivates me to come back more often to see what treasures I come across. They had a few tables inside to enjoy your ice cream there. There were two people working so I did not wait much for my turn. They also do offer pints to go, but from what I could see only two flavors: cookies and cream and mango sticky rice.

That part comes down to personal preference... I can tolerate a taste I don't love. What I can't tolerate is bad service. The employee working on 5/25/26 was extremely rude and had no customer service skills. She acted annoyed whenever someone asked for samples and made customers feel like they were wasting her time. She handed over cups of ice cream without spoons or any explanation of where to find them. After running the register, she simply turned around and walked away before the payment even finished processing. Like I said, taste is subjective. How bad can ice cream really be, right? But poor service is something I don't overlook. I won't be returning to this place. In my opinion, 3 Sisters and Sacred Cow offer a much better overall experience.

They have a huge selection of flavors, and every time we go in I end up standing there longer than I planned because there are so many tempting choices. It's the kind of problem every ice cream shop should have. The ice cream itself is outstanding. It's fresh, creamy, and packed with flavor without feeling overly heavy. Every flavor we've tried has been excellent, and it's easy to see why this place has developed such a loyal following. In my opinion, it's the best ice cream on the East Side. Just be prepared to wait if you're stopping by on a nice evening. The shop is fairly small inside, and it's not uncommon for the line to stretch right out the front door. Thankfully, the staff keeps things moving, and the wait has always been worth it. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the ice cream and the generous portions. Parking can be a little hit or miss since it's mostly street parking, although there are a handful of spaces behind the building. Somehow we've been lucky the last few visits and managed to grab a spot right out front, even when there was a long line. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because the small space and limited parking can make visiting during peak hours a little less convenient. Once you have your ice cream, though, it's hard to complain. If you're looking for fantastic homemade ice cream in Providence, Three Sisters absolutely deserves a visit.
