Belmont is one of the best cocktail lounges I have found. It's a Capital Hill must try -- perfect for drinks with a group of friends in their cozy lounge area or a date in their bar/table area. -- Drinks -- Belmont has a variety of classic (with some twists) and signature cocktail, most of which reminded me of speakeasy concotions. I highly recommend the Blood & Stone -- you can't go wrong with some orange and pecan bourbon as a cocktail base. -- Atmosphere -- Belmont has a cozy intimate lounge atmosphere. It's dimly lit, featuring lots of quirky animal decor. The bar is on the small side, with room for about 10-15 people in the lounge area and about 20 people in the bar area. The lounge area is great for groups. It's filled with leather couches, big comfortable chairs, and coffee tables. It gives off an inviting living room vibe. I sat in the lounge area with two other friends and we had plenty of room for more people. It's fairly quiet and we had no trouble hearing each other. The bar area has a few small tables and bar seating where you can watch the bartenders work their magic. I sat at the bar on a date and we had a great time seeing them experiment with different cocktails. There is outdoor seating which is typically open earlier in the day. It's usually closed at night to avoid the party atmosphere of the neighborhood and the Seattle rain. Nothing too special there, just some seats and small metal tables outside on the sidewalk. -- Service -- I have always had great service at Belmont. The bartenders are very attentive and happy to help you find the perfect potion for your evening. It's a fairly small venue, so expect a wait on the weekends (especially for groups over two). -- Pandemic Precautions -- These are precautions related to the Covid-19 rules and may not be relevant in the future. Visited Belmont at the behest of a host at another restaurant who mentioned that it was the kind of place my friend and I were looking for to have a drink or two. We were a few blocks away from Belmont and some pictures on Yelp sold the place for me. We were lucky because just as we entered a few friends exited and we were able to snag that seat. The place is busy and very loungey. We were seated one one of the sofas . The place is very dimly lit so would be ever so perfect for a date. In our stay there, two couples had drinks and left from the couch opposite ours. The drinks are not too pricey. We didn't since we dined before heading here but the couple who were seated on the couch opposite us had just gotten their wrap?? and fries while we were leaving. They seemed to have really like it. One of my preferred cocktail bars to visit! A really upscale & classy interior vibe, paired with great service and drinks. I was looking to hop to a 2nd cocktail bar at 12:45pm and to my dismay, tons of cocktail bars already finished last call in the area (rumba, foreign national, east trading company), but that wasnt the case here! The drinks are fantastic and diverse and even though they are slightly pricier ($13-16), they are very much worth it for the overall experience. I'd recommend coming by here with a small/medium size group for cocktails, but it also makes for a great date spot! read more

All the regrets that I didn't try the cocktails but since I was on a date I played it a little safe with rose wine. The have tables as well as bar space and large lounge couches that looked super comfortable. They have negronis and old fashioneds on hh pricing for only $10. The pours are a bit light handed but not enough to complain about. Awesome bar with a chill vibe We need more places like the Belmont! Most Cap Hill bars I've been to are a little too 'poppin' for my liking. This place is chill so you feel relaxed and you can actually hear your friends talk and it's also happening at the same time so you don't feel like you are wasting your Saturday away! This place is ideal for a group hangout or a 2nd date! The only minor issue I have with this place is the service. It was great overall but my friend ordered a drink and he was told 5 mins later that they don't have all the ingredients for the drink. He asked them about an other drink and the waitress said she'll look into it and then came back with the actual drink! When he asked her again what's in the drink, she said she needs to look at the menu again! Anyways, the drink turned out great and it's all good. They also don't split checks which was weird because most places in Seattle is cool with that unlike NYC or LA. We had to venmo our friend and he got all the points lol I'll definitely go back here and I hope they keep the vibe. Belmont continues to be our favorite cocktail bar in Seattle. Their drinks, snacks and ambiance are exceptional and their owners/staff are very kind and laid back in a way that makes you feel so at home. We love to bring our pup to their patio to people watch, and their indoor space is also large and airy enough that it feels safe to be in even during COVID times (in fact, it's one of the only places we've had a drink indoors because of this.) They also have good distancing between their seating areas, sanitation and mask policies in place to make sure you feel safe and well taken care of there. We love Belmont!!! read more

Terrible experience. I understand bars can be very busy on the weekend, but miscommunications of whether you will be served or not shouldn't happen. I and my group of 4 came in and at the time there were no tables. The host had us wait at a stand up table and said ordering from the bar while we wait would be fine. Less than 10 minutes after looking at the menu we head to the bar only to be told "the bar is overwhelmed right now so we won't be taking drinks from those without a table". We were very confused but mostly upset by the response. It showed the lack of preparation the staff had on a Friday night, but also that they didn't value our business. At most they could have warned us our drinks would take some time rather than denying us completely. read more

Fantastic cocktail lounge. The vibe inside is perfectly moody with comfy couches and chairs. They have several different takes on old fashioneds which my husband loves. You can also order some snacks - we usually go with some olives. You can't go wrong wherever you sit! Perfect place for a pre dinner drink or to end your night! Really loved this place. It's a great place to meet a few friends since there are not big tables. The place is quaint and the noise level is high. For drinks we ordered Belmont Old fashioned with bullet rye and french gimlet. Both drinks were great. We also ordered the snack sampler. It was fine. I would have liked the menu more if they have more food options. Price-wise the drinks are on the pricy side. The staff and manager were attentive and checked on us a few times. One of the coziest happy hours I've been to. It's definitely an intimate environment, but if that's what you're going for, this is the place. The drink list is pretty short for hh; the two featured cocktails were old fashioneds and negronis. I opted for the latter and found it very easily drinkable. Came here with a group of friends two weekends ago for my post-birthday party on a Friday night! We were all dressed up in 1920's fashion because I asked them to - fun fact. We were serviced while waiting for a group-that-was-about-to-leave. After about 10-15 minutes, we were seated at the back with comfy couches and extra chairs for a group of 8. The service was pretty good - we had waiters come and check in on us getting drink orders and water. Dark room but very sophisticated - wine was stacked on one end of the wall. Would come here again if I was in the mood for lounging around. I had an orange cocktail (minus the maple syrup) and it was pretty tasty. I must have been transported into a bizarro universe when I sashayed into this bar that night. Where to begin detailing this rollercoaster ride? Maybe when I asked a question about a menu item and the first bartender told me it was their first day on the job so he fetched another bartender who informed me it was his third day. Okay, whatever, there's a labor shortage right? Sure, let's go with that narrative. So I order an aviation for my buddy who was strapped in for this ride while he went to the restroom. The drink comes out and there's clearly no Violette in it. I ask the bartender what's up with this, and he gives me a story about how the true Aviation doesn't contain Crème de Violette. Now, a little backstory, I've spent a few years behind some bars, the good and bad kind, and I have read about this period where you couldn't easily get Crème de Violette. Before that, it was originally made with it, and I came here to have the version of the cocktail everyone who's had one knows of, not some pretentious pseudo-history lesson. I don't say any of this to the bartender, instead I ask them to make the drink I ordered. They come back with a pink cocktail that still doesn't contain Violette, so I'm assuming they used Crème Yvette, which is a fruiter, less violet substitute. Whatever. Moving on. I proceed to ask for a Last Word and am informed they don't have any kind of Chartreuse. Here I am thinking I'm in a cocktail bar after getting that history lesson I didn't ask for and they don't have Chartreuse. Okay. Now maybe if I was in a small city airport bar, sure, the events of this visit would be probable and less ridiculous, but in a city like Seattle in a neighborhood like Capitol Hill, I wouldn't have expected such a wildly absurd experience. We came here hoping for their happy hour, but with the new Covid issues, their happy hour has been suspended. The regular price drinks are about $15 [usually $10 on a happy hour], so it wasn't such a big deal. We pretty much had the inside for a selves, we really like the decor, it made you feel like you were in a nice old fashion library or something of the sort. Great ambiance! I remember coming here last summer and having this spectacular drink called frosé, which is by far the best drink in Seattle. They have revamped the place since then and I have come here for the last 2 consecutive days. Because it doesn't get better than this. Their meatballs are on point. One of the only places in Capitol Hill I go to for a drink...coincidently enough, one of the only places in Cap Hill to have a fro-zay. Prices are a little steep, but the quality is there. They have nice munchies on their happy hour and the staff are really accommodating and laid back. Will definitely come back here a few times before I leave Seattle. read more

Really love how this former wine bar turned into a lounge where I love to grab whiskey based cocktails. The ambiance is really comfortable and chill, with a touch of class. I've been here a couple times; with larger groups lounging on the couches and with one other person at the bar. Whatever the experience, the service is easy going, yet attentive and the drinks are consistently tasty. I love classic cocktails like an old fashioned. Here they expand the love of classics with great beverages like the Don Draper and the 212 Manhattan. I also really like the house aperol spritz and the house old fashioned. My friends and I frequented Belmont before the pandemic and missed the atmosphere and people over the past couple of years. We've been back a few times since the beginning of the year. It has a sexy vibe and is great for hanging with a few friends or just by yourself. Their cocktails are adventurous aone of my favorites is Rum With the Devil.
