I really like this place as a customer for their salon services. I've tried hair, nail, and facial services here. There isn't as much supervision as I had expected, but many of the students know their stuff. Appointments take a lot longer, but totally worth it for the attentiveness of students to perform services well. I have been a Client here for over 20+ years, when the school was called "Poway Beauty Academy". I had a standing weekly appt. for a blow-out, and monthly standing full-body waxing;; (Face, Arms, Full-Leg). (The old school used to be very "shabby-looking", and I used to have to get my full-leg wax in a dingy corner with a tiny light and a curtain! But the staff was great, and eventually took my much needed advice to expand the wax area and put in excellent, high-beam lighting which is absolutely needed for waxing!!) Currently it is a "Spa-Like" aesthetic, very clean and comfortable for all services, with decent prices. They have considerably raised prices over the last several years though, so be sure to read the menu prior to going, for those whom go to Schools for the lower cost aspect (Senior Citizens, Students, and myself, now a "Senior"!) I haven't been here since just prior to Covid however, I will be going soon for waxing and a blow-out, for which I do hope the prices will still be affordable, as it should be since it is a "School", and not a "Professional Salon", where prices earn their worth. Imagine telling students that they can reach out to staff and admin about other options when in NEED of HELP but instead they send the same cookie cutter response every time to you when you reach out. Hmmm. I am a PM Esti student who had life hit me like a ton of bricks these past couple of months and now have to makeup hours, which is FINE with me, but the fact that admin has NOT been accommodating is very interesting to say the least. Are you guys doing this on purpose so when I've exceeded my 60 something hours that I'm allowed to miss, that I have to pay the overages??? Seems like it!!! I am a PM student for a REASON. I work 30-40minutes away from home before the crack of dawn with one car to share. I understand that NOW there is Saturday hours again, but what if I can't make it to all those days. Why can't PM students have the "other options" that the admins so call say we can reach out about?? This school is interesting. read more

I have had multiple services with Yuliana Lara and all of them have been great experiences. From hair to skin she is very knowledgeable about what she does. She would explain all the products used on my hair and skin during my facial. Throughout the processes she would make sure I was comfortable and didn't need anything. I called to book an appointment to have my nails done last week and I called on a Tuesday during business hours and they never answered so I left a voicemail. Well I never got a call back, so I called later that same day, they still did not answer!! I called the next day and the lady that answered sounded really bothered that I was calling and said the time I wanted was booked, ok whatever I'll take the later time even though I called the day prior and I'm sure there would have been an appointment. I asked to get my toes done too& she said "well we can't do that you'd have to come a different day in a really rude voice. A no I'm sorry would have worked. I then was calling on the day of my appointment to double check the time as she said two different times when I talked to her and she didn't answer so again left a voicemail and still nothing. So I called an hour later and she didn't answer- at. This point I was fed up and this business is lucky I still came in because based off this rude receptionist I almost didn't go. It took 5 calls for her to answer!!!- ridiculous and when she said she said "hello" really rude sounding. I never got her name but I called in the morning between 10-12 during the week. This is horrible customer service and they really need to hire someone else to answer phones because they almost lost business because of this person. !READ MY ENTIRE REVIEW ANY STUDENTS CONSIDERING ATTENDING SCHOOL HERE, BEWARE! Update to my last review since I received a reply. I struggle to see how me reaching out will mend any negative experiences a had at this school. I was made to pay almost $2000 in overages while I was dealing with a serious health concern and cancer scare. During this time I had to take days off of school for doctors appointments and days to process everything I was going through. You told me I should contact you, but when I tried to get your information, I was told there was no point and I had no other opinion but to pay. That would've caused the $26,000 I paid in tuition and 200 hours of my time to have been for nothing. To add I was bullied relentlessly at this school and it made me nervous to go to school everyday. Once I brought up this issue with a teacher and they made me talk it out with the other student. The teacher wouldn't let me speak and made us apologize to each other, after this the bullying got much worse because the girl started telling everyone about what happened and that I was a snitch. The teachers picked favorites (the more popular or "cool" students) and in fact all of the teachers forgot about my graduation as well except for one (thank god for you Mr Ivann). I would appreciate it if YOU were to reach out. It is impossible to contact you yet you tell me to do so. I have many more grievances I would like to air out to you. read more
