I have taken classes through community education and private classes with Michele and have been impressed with how thorough she is. She makes sure you understand what's she's teaching, give opportunity for feedback, and is very approachable. Please come to class with an open mind because she provides a lot of material and takes you step-by-step. Her classes are fun and entertaining. She teaches her class with a smile and always has a smile on her face. I wear makeup on seldom occasions, so I am very new to what it all entails. Even though, she reached me, the more advanced students learned a lot as well. Her blending and layering techniques are so beneficial. I had Michelle do my makeup for my wedding and she did AMAZING!!! I can't get over how awesome it was. My bridal party also, stated it was some of the most amazing artistry they have ever had for wedding. Michelle is also an amazing and professional person. She is super sweet and kind, which it made it even better working with her. If I had to say one bad thing, it would be that I did a trial with her before hand and it was nothing compared to the magic she performed actual day of my wedding. So don't be quick to judge on your trial day because for the actual day she has so much more time and really makes sure she does everything she can to make you look amazing on your BIG DAY! I just came to write a review and saw that this business has closed. I sure hope this is true. What a scam. She charges $250 for her basic class which was held at someone else's tiny apartment- at their kitchen table. Oh and that person was wandering around and talking to us during the class. There was no direction as to what to bring (makeup? Brushes? Lunch?). One student was 30 minutes late so we just sat there waiting for them. Then Halfway through the class another student showed up and totally disrupted everything. I signed up because I wanted to learn about color matching and contouring. As well as learn about becoming a professional makeup artist. I feel like the most valuable thing I actually did learn was to not take random makeup classes and ask for more details. Oh and the certificate she gives you is not real. It is literally an emailed "certificate" that she got offline. She originally said she would mail it and it takes a few weeks to print. This is my first time doing a yelp review ever...but I really wanted to this time because I loved these classes! I looked at a lot of different classes but I'm a mom with two kids so I will never be able to go somewhere that is 3 weeks -1 year in length and which also costs thousands of dollars.Then I found MIC Makeup Academy! She has about 5 different workshops you can choose from and a lot of dates to choose from so you can take just one or you can take them all if you want to learn everything. I thought at first that even if I took all 5, there's no way that would be enough and I would have to still pay to take more somewhere else. That won't be the case though as I've only taken two classes so far and learned so much! At the other schools they have so many people in the classes so you have to fight for the teachers attention if you need anything. But she only takes 4 people per class at the most so you get a lot of attention and can ask questions whenever needed. This means your absorbing way more information at a much faster rate and a lower cost. As for the teacher herself... Michelle is awesome! She was so patient when I kept stopping her to ask questions. Never once did she look annoyed. She is genuinely sweet, talented, down to earth and non judgmental. Also, I told her in the beginning on the phone that I needed to turn this into a career and asked if I could assist her if I took some classes and she said yes. I honestly didn't think it would happen. But sure enough, after the first class, she got her date book out and asked if I wanted to assist on some weddings! So if your on the fence... don't hesitate to take classes with Michelle. I had so much fun and can't wait to take them all! read more

BEWARE!!!! I signed up for a makeup class with Michele Von Entress after viewing her website on line. Ms. Von Entress replied to my request to makeup education. She was eager to take a $50 deposit and we agreed on dates for me to travel to her 'makeup school'. As the dates drew near, she began to change the days around for personal reasons and the night before the class she called and said I needed to bring CASH. (red flag) I asked exactly where the school is located & she said it was residential. As I was in route, she called again to try to change the days, offering to come to my place. Really? When I finally arrived to verify where her makeup school was it turns out that it was in an apartment complex and she was just trying to make $ under the table. The whole experience was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I decided not to take the class since she misrepresented herself, I was expecting a professional environment not some makeup artist trying to make money under the table at her apartment. There was no "Makeup School". She conned me out of my $50 deposit. read more
