Belgium Waffle with Whip Cream
Michelle M.

This place tricks you a bit. As someone mentioned in a previous review there are no prices listed on the menu. So, I took a chance anyway and ordered a Belgium waffle. The lady asked me what I wanted on it, and when I asked what it comes with she said well fruit or whip cream, but they cost extra. I was confused as the menu lists the waffle in different forms that included things..."belgium waffle with whip cream", "belgium waffle with nutella". When I showed her the menu and these different forms, she said it's extra. So I told her I didn't need anything if it was extra. She said oh...I could give you whip cream. So I thought she was being nice and wasn't going to up-charge for it. When I looked at the screen in front of me it read "whip cream: $0.50". When I said, "oh, am I being charged for it?" she didn't really answer. I didn't make a stink cuz it's $0.50 but yikes? The principal... Anyway the waffle was ok..a little undercooked in the middle and kinda small. The latte was ok too. I got a pumpkin spice in honor of fall being around the corner and to be honest I've had better tasting pumpkin lattes. Wouldn't rush back here but if I was in the area, I'd give it another shot.

Smoked salmon Savory Crepe
Maryam M.

Cute local cafe in Belmont. The crepes were perfectly thin and flavorful. My friend and I ordered the smoked salmon crepe with ricotta and capers. We also got cappuccino and hot tea- both were incredible. Overall great portion size for the price and perfectly fresh food. Service was a little slow which may be due to covid or the fact that there was only one person behind the counter when we went. Even though there was only one person prepping and serving, the food was exquisite and made with care! Would love to go back and try other things from the menu. Wish they offered delivery....

"Medium hot coffee with light cream"
Shannon M.

Popped in very quick for a coffee. Ordered a medium Hot coffee with light cream and not at all what I was given. I'm not sure if it's coffee with steamed milk or just a straight up latte ? But either way it's 90% cream and I can't taste any coffee. Kind of a huge bummer, but the gentleman working behind the counter was so nice. I'll probably give it one more try in the future. Pastries looked delicious as I walked by. Definitely want to try and support this local business ! Perhaps, I need to order a hot coffee in a different way or perhaps there is no "regular" hot coffee at this caffe ? Who knows !

My crepe and coffee were good but no refill. I did not know Jimmy Carter ate crepes. Loved the town history on the wall. Nice calm Sunday morning meal.

Avocado toast with salmon

Nice coffee shop in the heart of Belmont. Selection of avocado toast, crepes and pastries, so good for breakfast. Loving the rock music in the background - at first it felt awkward in the little cozy space, but it is upbeat and not loud at all. We'll be back ...

The bread was warm and fluffy and the frosting was creamy and nicely sweetened but not overly sweet. I was a fan. The french toast was eggy and the bread was soft. The Italian sausage stole the show for me. It was sweet, fragrant, and you could taste the chunks of meat and fat. The fennel flavor was warming. I had an extra side of their sausages. The home fries were good. The steak in the steak and eggs was well seasoned. It did taste A1-y. It was cooked to medium rare as per my request. I was a fan of the steak chunks. I will return. You should give them a visit.

There are also a few booths for larger parties. They have your general breakfast diner food, sandwiches, to daily specials to choose from. I also got a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice which was super refreshing. The sandwich was amazing and I would absolutely get it again if it was on the menu. The home fries were okay, but not the best that I've had. The service was great and very efficient. Overall, a great place to catch up and grab a bite to eat.

I don't know how they get any traffic with the sign they have. It was cold inside. Time to turn on the heat. The Spot has a counter in back with a few bakery items. There were eight tables in front. The walls were filled with eclectic items. They have a woman that waits on the tables, provides menu and serves. She spends all her time behind the counter rather than waiting on tables. I ordered a Sara's omelette that includes three vegetables and 3 eggs. I chose spinach, mushroom and broccoli. I had fruit cup of melon, pineapple, cantaloupe and strawberries in lieu of toast and hash browns. The omelet was very good with lots of veggies inside. The fruit cup was on the small size but it beats additional carbs. I had to wait for my bill. I think they forgot about me. I finally had to get up and ask for bill. It wasn't too busy - there are 6ish tables and one server was waiting tables. She was very warm and friendly. I ordered two eggs over easy and my husband got an omelet. The food was decent, and prices are so affordable. However the potatoes were very bland and hard, and portion was small. Also they had forgotten the potatoes in my order although it comes with the meal but I mentioned it and it was corrected. We also ordered the Belgian waffle to share which definitely isn't "Belgian" style but it was good! Overall decent, I'd come again just for the cozy, warm vibe. I'm interested in trying their lunch menu next!

The chicken sandwich was also good with thin layers of chicken, and flavored well. However I liked the chicken where as for eggplant I felt the sandwich as a whole worked well. I would have loved more of it, because the bites that did get some were absolutely delicious in enhancing flavor with the egg. The sandwich itself is larger than expected, bigger than a typical slider which was a pleasant surprise. I also ordered an incredible Apple Cheddar biscuit on the side. Great experience and I highly recommend visiting if you're looking for quick and convenient breakfast, with a great quality and fair price!

The space is tight for a buffet, and we were glad to just miss being seated right next to where the diners were lining up for the buffet. They seemed to be a bit short-staffed as our server was attending to a section that included two large parties -- one of about 12 and another of 8 -- in addition to the smaller tables including ours. She came as soon as we were seated but only explained we could go up at any time and promised to bring water. We waited for her to return to take our beverage orders but finally grew impatient and got in line for the buffet. The buffet selections were scrumptious--breakfast and lunch options. The chicken and waffles seemed to be the most popular and the tray was empty when I got to it but a new batch arrived momentarily -- thank goodness! Yummy as I expected. I also had scrambled eggs and link sausages. I passed on a few other things like eggs benedict (the last in the tray which is never ideal). In hindsight the ideal time to arrive seemed to be about a half hour after your seating time, as by then the lines to the buffet were minimal (that's when I headed back for seconds). Oh and when I finally got to order my old-fashioned, it was delish. There is an attached parking garage (the red garage) and if you park at the right end of the building you just take the elevator to ground level and the restaurant is a few steps away. I'm not sure I'd return for the special celebration seatings. The price is right but the logistics, seating, slow service and lapse in keeping trays full of hot food would give me pause. On a regular day, however, no contest.

We came here with my roommate on a Friday night and it was completely empty which was strange. Nevertheless, we ordered our usual baked brie and a side of fries start, which came out amazing as always. The problem began right before placing our order, as we informed the waitstaff that my roommate has a severe tree-nut allergy. The waitstaff took it into consideration and let us know they informed the kitchen staff. When we got our entrees, however, I noticed my roommate's salad garnish on her lamb chop was chock-full of chopped pecans! I was horrified. If I hadn't noticed, she would have had an allergic reaction. I understand that there is a risk when going out to eat, but this is completely unacceptable given we gave ample notice and the salad was not pre-made with nuts. The waitstaff seemed more terrified of us than apologetic, despite us being nice and understanding. I am going to call out an allergy hazard when I see one... They switched it for us which was good and did end up apologizing, but it kind of turned me off from the rest of the dining experience. The entrees themselves were decent, I had the famous wagyu sliders but I prefer the crispy chicken sliders here. If you have an option, I'd choose the Boston location over this one.
