Had a great lunch at Bellissimo with my kids today. We tried the cheese pizza and buffalo chicken pizza, both were very good, really like the crust a lot. Love that you can get it by the slice. We also had wings and salad. The salad was really fresh and delicious and we had tiramisu for dessert. First time trying tiramisu so dont have anything to compare it to but it was extremely delicious. The service was great! Super friendly and helpful. Sorry for the mess we left! My son spilled his water right before leaving and we tried to clean it with napkins best we could. It's in a good location with plenty of parking, and plenty of tables inside, wasn't super busy. I would definitely like to go back and try a different kind of pizza and the garlic knots looked really good. read more

Fantastic New York-style pizza. Also offers hoagies, olive mixes, and legit New York desserts. Only constructive feedback is that there are far too many ticky-tack rules signs. $1 fee for credit card transactions under $7, no fountain water, bottle only, we won't serve you if you are on cell phone, do not move tables, don't throw trays away, restrooms are for paying customers only, etc. A bit much and sends wrong message to customers. That said, food is fantastic, the staff is great and friendly .... we will be back - surly signs and all! :) read more

March 8th 2022, For many years we have eaten at your pizza place, over the past year it seems like it is hit and miss for if you will be open for business. Always you have excuses. Called at 2:05pm to place an order, was told that they had to close for emergency. (Sorry to hear) So we drove by at 2:40 and low and behold you were open. Stopped by for a slice on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Coming from the northeast, we had high hopes - they didn't disappoint. The place is like a Sabarros but a bit more upscale. I was a bit put off by rudeness both comments from a pizza maker when I ordered thin crust after seeing some Sicilian, thick, crust pizza on display. He said, "This is all we make. We don't make any thin crust." I was fine with the crust they had since it looked like a thinner crust and I didn't want thick crust. Then, signs posted that say, No water unless you buy it in a bottle, no credit charges unless your purchase is over $7.00. Just seems a bit customer unfriendly. I'm not often in the mood for pizza, but man oh man did it hit the spot today. Bellissimo's does pizza right. I kept it simple and had a slice of pepperoni and a slice of cheese and added a soft drink for the special ($6.99 for cheese, $1 extra for pepperoni). The bread was perfect. Not overly "bready" to take away from the flavors of the sauce and cheese, but still had a nice soft interior. The slightly crisp exterior provided a nice texture balance. That sauce was perfect too with a subtle sweetness to it. I woulda paid extra to get a container of the stuff to dip my pizza in. I was the first customer in and the guy who took my order was pleasant. I thought it had a nice atmosphere- not formal, but very clean and bright with granite tables and a TV playing ESPN. By the time I left (still before noon), several other single diners and larger parties came in, so it doesn't seem that business is struggling. We order pizza from a few places around town, usually on Friday night on my way home from work. There is nothing I can say about this please except that it is phenomenal. When you first walk in everything seems to be in place and very clean. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about what they are serving. We have always had the margarita pizza and usually another one with green peppers and onions. While driving home with the pizza I am tempted to grabbing a slice and eat it on the way back but I have to control myself. The food smells and tastes absolutely delicious. There's only one other place in town I can think of that has pizza probably just as good. If you ever feel the need to get away from the traditional Domino's or Papa John's Pizza and would like to taste what I considerTo be true pizza... try these folks. Yummy NY style pizza! We came in brain fried and exhausted after a day at WB and found this place on YELP. We were SO GLAD we found it!!! We couldn't decide what to order so the staff made a suggestion based on what we were considering and it was awesome! My family of 5 ordered an 18" half cheese/half Roma, 12 garlic knots and a small Greek salad. The pizza was delicious, garlic knots perfectly cooked and the salad had incredibly fresh ingredients...my kids kept stealing my salad! The prices were on par with any other gourmet pizza place we've been to. My only mark against it would be not having tap water. After being in the hot sun all day, it was a bummer not to be able to refill our water cups over and over. Atmosphere was basic but totally fine for a pizza joint. Really a great find! read more

I live in New York, but recently temporarily moved to Newport News for work purposes, I was disappointed with the pizza here as I am spoiled with good pizza. I can tell you that Bellissimo Pizza Cafe is a step in the right direction. Slices are accurately priced at the price of a swipe of a metro card and the setting is filled with New York memorabilia. The pizza is okay, but great for Virginia. In terms of one bite everyone knows the rules, I'd put the pepperoni and cheese slice I got at a 7.2/10. The cheese pizza very much resembled a slice from sbarro as it was very thick. The pepperoni was better, but the pepperoni was only concentrated at the top. Was Bellissimo Pizza Cafe worth the 50 mile round trip? Yes. I was recommended this place from a friend and look forward to coming back. The atmosphere here is nice and the pizza is good, beating the three other places I had in the last two weeks. See you soon! read more

This is not a review on the food. I'd have loved to provide a more positive review. However after reading all the reviews of all the places nearby, and finally choosing to try a Bronx Bomber pizza here, I was very disappointed to find that the place was already closed on Saturday night at 8:20pm! Chairs were up, closed sign was out and the folks were cleaning the floor. So either they chose to close early on a Saturday night (really?) or the posted hours here on yelp are wrong. If I were a business owner. I'd probably be making sure that apps like Yelp had accurate info on the businesses operating hours. read more

I knew about this place since it opened just kept riding by every time. So today I went in with the fam. Here is the thing. I had been telling my wife all afternoon I was in the mood for a hotdog. However Bellisimo was closer to us as we were shopping so we decided to stop in. Lo and behold! On the window it advertises two N.Y. hotdogs for $6.99! Problem solved. We asked for two slices of cheese pizza. The food was great. The n.y dog is great and the plain hotdog has a good taste. The hotdog buns is like a bread cloud! The pizza is simple and pleasing. The crust is cooked well. Not over done, buttery, and crisp yet not crunchy. Well done Bellisimos. The gentleman who prepared our order we're phenomenal. They sold me a deluxe pizza (which the owner/manager claims they don't sell) for $25 and the pizza barely had any toppings on it besides black olives and pepperoni! The gentleman that runs this store (or acts like he runs this store is not very friendly. We did not feel welcome at the store. The pizza quality is good but slightly overpriced compared to other quality pizza establishments. We really enjoyed the pizza we ordered but do not think that it is worth the price they are asking ($20 for a small pepperoni). If you are in the area and looking for pizza it's worth the try but it seems they don't want you to eat inside and constantly looking over at your table because they want you to know they don't want to clean up anything after you. Definitely wasn't a friendly establishment. This is going to sound odd, but The most important part of the pizza, to me, is the crust, and the crust here is perfect. Cooked well, and with the perfect chewy texture. This is not to belittle the toppings, which are well balanced. I like a bit more sauce on my pizza, so next time I'll ask for extra, and I'll also ask for a tavern cut, because slices on a 19" pie are bigger than I want. No, I won't just get a smaller pizza, because I'm already looking forward to my leftovers! We also had the garden salad, which was fresh and crispy, with a tasty house dressing. I'm from Boston and have also had my fair share of great pizza in both New York and New Haven, so I like to think I have a reasonable gauge of good pizza. The pizza at Bellissimo is hands down the best place to get pizza in the Williamsburg area. Unlike other places in the area that claim to have "New York Style" pizza, the pizza here actually is New York Style: the pizza has a crisp yet chewy thin crust, they don't go overboard on the cheese, and the pizza is cooked long enough. Everywhere else in the area fails on at least two of those tests, if not all three. On top of that, you can get slices. It confuses me that none of the other places in town sell pizza by the slice; in the Northeast, the only places that don't sell slices are gourmet type places that only sell smaller, personal pizzas. Long story short, if you need a pizza fix (even just a slice) it's worth the trip to Bellissimo. Nowhere else in the area comes anywhere close. read more

After waiting in line 10 min behind only two people who were ordering together and spent those 10 min chatting with the guy behind the counter , I ordered a large very expensive chef salad . Waited another 12 minutes still no salad while other people behind me were served. I only get 30 minutes for lunch and i work two minutes from here mind you , so I never got my salad, I finally gave Up waiting as I had to leave to be back to work. The owner apparently thinks I have no credibility. I think every customer has credibility, as they are the backbone for the company's survival. Although I am only one person, and may not make that much difference, I will tell everyone I know about the terrible pizza here along with the rude staff. If you look at the unfavorable reviews for this establishment, will see the comments by the owner which sounds like something a pouty 5 year old would say when he/she didn't get their way.
