Rarely do I venture over to Gloucester but I happen to be over there and ran across this great new pizza restaurant. A good test of any pizza place is a plain cheese or pepperoni pizza. So I ordered a large pepperoni, but I also found out they had Paninos. I have not had or had even heard of a Panino until Luigis added them to their menu back in the day. I ended up ordering a turkey Panino as well. The lady behind the counter was a little hard to understand due to her thick accent, but took my order with enthusiasm and a great big smile! When I got home, I had half of the Panino and two slices of the pepperoni. Everything was delicious! If you live in Gloucester, or find yourself across the bridge sometime, stop in and check them out!

Nice to have a new Italian restaurant in the area with great tasting food. Only issue I have is that the one place I thought would know the difference between a Stromboli and a Calzone, would be an Italian restaurant. Ordered the Franco's Special Stomboli and got home to find a large folded pizza (calzone) with dipping sauce. Definitely not a Stromboli. Had to eat anyway, so we ate the calzone. Will know better next time. By the way, they apparently have a two tiered pricing schedule. One price for cash and another for credit. Not a problem because I know there are fees for credit, but it should be added to their website, not just at the register when you pay for your order. Still recommend Francos simply because even the calzone was good.

Great tasting pizza and good size unlike some other places around the area. In a hideaway sort in the shopping center but worth it.

After readng several of the most recent comments and reviews we decided to re-visit Sals in Hayes…read more I really like what they've done with the place; the ambience is a bit brighter & more updated. The menu is pretty much the same so we stuck with our old standbys. There were 4 of us and two ordered their favorite pizzas while another ordered chicken parm. 3 of us had salads but I was the only one who chose the antipasto. I also ordered the appetizer of chicken wings. Not much of a fan of them usually but had a yen for them. When they arrived I dropped my jaw. THEY WERE HUGE. I hadn't been aware that they were strictly buffalo wings but ordered the mild. I tried one but only after I ate my entree of the linguine with garlic & oil. Yum. I am happy to report that it's some of the best I've had. Lots and lots of garlic and the bowl isn't swimming in olive oil. After finishing that I was too full but ate one wing & brought the rest home. Now my only complaint is that all my food came out at once. That's not my idea of enjoying the restaurant. Salad first, appetizers and then entree. The way that was done doesn't allow you to savor your courses. While I'm enjoying my salad my wings and pasta are getting cold. Not ideal. The service was good, we were checked on regularly and the server was very attentive Thank you Sals for an enjoyable night out. It was a pleasure dining with you.

We had a party of 5 on a Friday and waited 30 minutes or so to be seated. I got the Seafood Trifecta and substituted the veggies for collard greens. Definitely a great choice! The food came out in a timely manner was served hot and fresh! Very delicious!!! The ambiance is very casual. I'd definitely come back!!

We waited about 40 min for a table and we all got comfy for what ended up a loooong night. I wish I caught the name of our server but it was very loud, louder than usual. She was very sweet and friendly, but kept forgetting us. We put our full order in at once thinking to save time. Not really. It took us about 40 min to get our drinks...and the order was wrong. Our starters came shortly after and we had barely finished when our mains came out. Now, I can fully appreciate it was a busy kitchen, but there were some boo boos. To start, I ordered a Southern Revival. It comes in a whiskey glass. The thing is, I saw several of these being served and they were all full serves where mine was about halfway. If I'm paying $12 for a drink..give a full pour right? The wings that my brother in law ordered were the wrong ones. He asked for the mild buffalo and got super hot. Poor guy has Parkinson's so it was a rough go for him. We were all so hungry though that we just kept our food/drink. I ordered the YROC salad and wow. What a fantastic salad. Spinach, walnuts, apples, cranberry, and red onion with a raspberry vinaigrette. YUM! My sister got the cheese curds and from the way she devoured them I'm thinking they were pretty tasty. We all ordered a range of dishes as mains. I got the Mahi tacos (since the Huli chicken wasn't on the menu), mom got the captains special, her friend got the Trifecta, sis got the bang bang shrimp tacos and b-i-l got a burger. With the exception of the burger it was an amazing meal. We were so very full by the time we left we could barely walk to the car. We took a few moments to admire the view before heading home. This is a very casual, come as you are place for a good meal. Not sure about conversation if you eat inside, bring a sweater for eating out. If you don't like crowds but dig the vibe try lunch. Parking can be a challenge especially when they are really busy. There is a run off lot but it's a bit of a hike. Still...so worth spending a Saturday night with good food and great ambiance. Just wish we had a more attentive server.
