I have been wanting to try FTH Pizza for a couple of years. After enjoying it today, I wish had stopped by earlier. It was very good--maybe the best pizza I've tried in Williamsburg. Using a wood fire oven, FTH Pizza's pies convey that fired taste. I purchased the Margarita Pizza, and I really enjoyed the sauce. It contains the right amount of sweetness. This pizza also was not very cheesy, which is perfect for me! One of my favorite parts of a pizza is the air bubbles. It's crazy. I can't get enough of them! While my pizza had sufficient bubbles to delight, a couple were burnt from the fire. If you like bubbles like I do, ask for them to watch heat on the bubbles. For $12, I received a delicious pizza that added sunshine to a cloudy day! I have heard that they may sell out of their pizza dough before their posted closing hours, so I recommend going early. read more

So good!!! We got the special "Quattro Formaggi" and it was insanely good. He grows his own herbs by the gate and has all of his wood chopped by the tables! No bathrooms or inside seating so come prepared but don't make that the reason to not come!!! We pit stopped from SC to VA and it was perfect. read more

We ordered two pizzas (one cheese, one marinara because we don't eat meat on Fridays) for pickup via GrubHub because Yelp linked us to it when I looked at their menu. I didn't even realize it was GrubHub, honestly. I've probably used GrubHub only twice before. Upon arriving on time my order was ready and waiting. The two employees, one of whom seemed to be the owner, were both very pleasant. We had a nice chat. They asked me why I ordered by GrubHub for pickup and they explained that it was more expensive that way and asked me to order via their website next time. The pizza was solid. I live 10-15 minutes away, so the temperature was not ideal when I got home, something I definitely DO NOT hold against them. I think the crust would be my favorite type of pizza crust had I eaten on their patio. I will come back and I will eat at the restaurant next time. This pizza has the potential to be excellent. I do have a couple of complaints. $2 for a 12-oz. can of pop? That's ridiculous. Those are state fair/NFL stadium prices. I expected a 20-oz. bottle for sure at that price. Secondly, I walked through a spider web on my way into their main entrance, which is via their patio where people presumably sit and eat. I had a huge (silver-dollar-sized) spider on me when I went into the store. They kindly knocked it off of me. The thing that bothers me is that mine was their only order at the time. The patio definitely could've used some attention other than the spider web I destroyed. The two very nice people working there were just kind of standing around. That makes a huge difference in whether people return, in my opinion. I'll assume it was an unusual case this time. Overall, I'm looking forward to coming back. read more

My husband and I decided to try this pizza spot because the words "wood fired" caught our eye. It's a takeout only business with a nice outdoor eating area. All pizzas are 12 inches and there fewer choices than we're used to. BUT this is the best pizza we've had anywhere in the 757 area bar none. The flavors the chef chooses for the specialty pies always marry so well together . My son had friends home from college this weekend so we picked up 5 pies and every one loved theirs . We decided to eat elsewhere because we preferred inside dining, but the attitude of the employee was crap. That was last year. I am forever in search of real pizza in and around DC/VA/NC. Last night I came across this place. I ordered 3 pizzas: cheese, white and margarita. I taste tested all three. Freshness and flavor were exceptional. The crust was delicious. I wish the bottom had some crispness. It was nice and thin and not greasy at all, but even the smallish slice flopped over. Normally I ask for "well done" to try to get that crunch, but with the wood oven I was afraid of burning the top. As it was, the char on top was exactly right. I left the pizzas at my parent's house. When I polled the judges this morning Mom said "good but still American pizza" ... She's Irish, so take her opinion with a grain of salt. Conversely, what my Father didn't eat last night he made clear he was having tonight. He was born and raised in the North End. So .... We have a winner Williamsburg. We will be back! OMGosh! We travel a lot here in the US and around the world. I can honestly say the pizzas we picked up here are among THE VERY BEST we have EVER HAD! Their super thin, crispy crust was delicious, while the sauces, cheeses, basil, and meats were so scrumptious that I was groaning with delight the whole time I was eating. The blend of flavors was truly a culinary delight! My husband got their cannolis which normally I don't like. Theirs were quite tasty! I loved it too! I'm only sorry I don't live closer! Newer place in our area and love the pizza. You must order early and give pick up time because they only are able to make a certain amount of pizzas a day with fire wood stove and balancing family. They typically by mid day make an announcement that they are out of pizzas. They have the daily recipes and a special each day. I would love if they listed a vegan option. Last time I had pizza was only vegetarian so in the defense of FTH I can't say if I called and asked for a vegan option if they could do this. read more

My first time here. I had a sausage pizza. It was outstanding. The crust (thin) was one of the best I've ever had: chewy, crisp and flavorful. The sausage was handmade and delicious. The sauce and cheese were very tasty. I think they are using fresh mozzarella- so good, really. Topped off with a nice mix of herbs, I really enjoyed it! The cook in a wood fired oven in front of you (cool), which gives a great flavor. I will be back, with the fam! Seating is outside only, but it's a pleasant shaded environment. We ventured here yesterday, a Saturday night at about 5pm. We were excited to try this place as it has great reviews. We walked in and we were asked if we had a pickup order. I said no, we would like to order and wait. They had no inside seating, and we didn't realize it was mostly carry out, but we were going to sit outside and wait. We were not given the chance. They said, I kid you not, "we only have one crust left." How in the world can a pizza restaurant, at 5pm on a Saturday night, be out of pizza crusts? Couldn't you, I don't know, make more?
