We were in Williamsburg for a family vacation from NC. On our last day we went to the outlets a for a bit then were hungry for pizza. Found this place on the map just a few mins away from shops and decided to try it. This was probably the best pizza I've ever had. I ordered the white pizza. It was AMAZING. There is a "hot honey" that he puts on top that gives it a sweet kick, the garlic and ricotta flavors all mixed perfectly. I wish I lived closer so I could get it all the time! There is only outdoor seating but on a good weather day like today in early June it was gorgeous and a perfect day to eat outside. The owner has fresh herbs & tomatoes growing in the seating area which was fun for us and the kids to look at while waiting for the pizza. It didn't take long at all for the pizza to be ready. We went around noon and it was not busy but my guess is that most people carry out. All pizzas are one size, about 12". Perfect for 2 to share or one person to take a couple slices home. We moved to Williamsburg in August 2017, leaving behind in Vermont a wonderful wood-fired pizza restaurant. Having tried a number of the local pizza palaces, we'd come to the conclusion that "they don't know how to make pizza here". HOWEVER, neighbors turned us on to FTH Pizza. I ordered 5 pizzas (pepperoni, cheese, and the eggplant special) for a small gathering last week and now must retract my comment. FTH Pizza KNOWS how to produce wonderful pies here in Williamsburg! Food trucks are all the craze over the last year well let me just say that these guys are AWESOME. They have their own pizza oven on a trailer and they bring it to local events like yesterdays Smartmouth Brewery 1 Year Anniversary party in Norfolk, VA. I've heard about "From the Hearth" from a couple of other friends that have tried them out and I must say that I was pretty interested when I glanced at their setup yesterday afternoon and ultimately I was not disappointed in the slightest. There were 4 pizzas listed on the chalk board menu yesterday and I selected one called the "Spicy Pig". The ingredients included Tomato sauce, Pecorino Provolone Pepperoni, House made spicy fennel sausage, chilies and mozzarella curd. The wait time was about 40 minutes from my order, they were packed so no problem, gave them my name, wandered off and got another beer. When I returned about 45 minutes later I had to wait about another 5 minutes or so and then they called my name and I had a delicious and unique personal pizza for my late afternoon lunch. Keep your eye's open for these guys if you're out and about at the local festivals and other events. They make a great product, oh and last but not least everything is local produced ingredients and the owners grow their own herbs and source everything from Virginia Farmers.
