I was looking for a place in Mt. Prospect that is close to me and cheap for a mani-pedi. This was the cheapest I could find within a 10 mile radius with a mani-pedi combo for $34 instead of $36-40 elsewhere. What I liked about this place is I could make a last minute (2 hr notice) appointment and it is open late. For some reason a ton of other local places are closed Monday's. I was only in town a few hours and needed a mani-pedi treatment badly as I was trying to grow out my nails and wanted them shaped properly. The owner has a ton of patience as you pick out colors and if you change your mind (like I do) with colors as you sit and look around. They also have a great selection of nail polish colors. The owner is very accommodating and friendly. She's fast at what she does, but does it to perfection because if you're unhappy with anything, she will fix it and if you don't like a color you picked she will redo it for you if she can. She will look at your facial expressions to see if you make any gave of concern or are looking at anything. I don't think nice ever had a manicurist ask me "anything wrong? Tell me :)". So I wanted another coat on and said it and she did it right away. She also helps you with everything from taking shoes off, opening zippers on your purse, moving things over so you don't get your nails ruined. This time I came straight from the airport and has a small suitcase, which she took to the car for me! Just very nice lady, overall. For the pedi, some of the other ladies don't speak much but they take they're time and do a good job. They also give you a foot massage and then when your pedi is done, a back massage as you let your feet dry. At some more expensive places, by have you chose a massage of foot scrub and you get it all here. Overall, I'm happy with my mani-pedi and the pricing and excited to have such an accommodating place close to home. read more

This place is very clean and quaint and I was overjoyed to hear that their manicure is only 12 dollars!! I liked that they give you a hand massage during your manicure. They even give you a back massage while your nails are drying. I left feeling great and excited that I had found a place that I could be a regular at. However it hasn't even been a week and my nails have already chipped. I expect manicures to last atleast a week maybe more, but I suppose that's what you get from a 12 dollar manicure. read more

let's just say Michelle doesn't get the credit that she deserves. She is a hard worker who always put her clients first. I go here for my waxing needs and she always does a phenomenal job. I refuse to go anywhere else because most waxers do what they think is best or trendy, not what the client wants. I love this place! I live right by Bellissimo nails. They have great hours that work with my schedule, and sometimes I call because they can get busy on weekends so I let them know if I will be stopping in. Michelle and her daughter are "perfectionists" and they want everyone to be happy :) Always a good call & prices are great. read more

So I will be covering a 3-in-1 review here. My 5 year old, my husband, and myself all had mani/pedi service during our visit. We all LOVED our experience!! My daughter was treated like a princess, flowers and all on her piggies! My husband almost fell asleep, he was pleased that his grease covered hands (carpenter/mechanic) were once more clean and recognizable. My mani pedi was very nice and I enjoyed the hand, foot/leg, and neck message that came with my services. Will be a repeat customer. Michelle is owner and super sweet. She was happy. Pleasant. You guys, this place is just rubbish. The owner is extremely rude. She just wants your money. Her tools are never washed, and when I asked her, she got so defensive and said that they rust. She just puts them in an oven-like device next to her without even brushing or removing the dead skin on them. I know it's $30, but be happy to get a disease included with the price. read more

I found this place on accident when I moved to Mount Prospect 4 years ago and have not gone to another place since. Michelle and her team are wonderful. I have been a customer for several years and just never thought to do a review. You know they do a geat job or I wouldn't keep going back. I was there on a Tuesday this time and the mani/pedi was $30. They can do the mani and pedi together but I asked to have the mani first to allow more time to dry. Michelle did the mani and she is an expert so it went fast and my nails are perfect. A young lady did my pedi and i think she was fairly knew as she took her time to do a meticulous job - not an easy task on my toes. My toes are perfect. I have been going to Michele for years for my manicures and pedicures. I got a no chip as usual and it chipped the next day. Michele had me come in to fix it and then half of my nails chipped again the next day!! I went back a third time and Michele gave me a new no chip manicure. She expected me to pay again! I asked her why she isn't standing by her work. I told her I would pay her half. Now I called for my next manicure and she hung up on me!! Terrible business!! read more

I love going to Bellissimo. Michelle is very sweet, always tries to accomodate when you just 'have to have my nails done today' and the salon is very clean and peaceful. i love the leg massage that is included with the standard pedicure (though some of the girls give longer ones than others). I have been going to bellissimo for about four years now and have always found the service to be excellent and at a very reasonable price. Michelle is extremely professional. The mani/pedi have always lasted at least an hour and Michelle really does inspect every one that goes out the door. The place is always clean and bright. I also have gotten the eyebrow wax here too and been pleased with the results. The only downside I have ever seen is that sometimes in the summer the shop does get rather crowded but Michelle does her best to manage that everyone get seen in a timely manner. I highly recommend this place and find Marie's review misleading at best (30 minutes for mani/pedi -- no, I have never seen that happen at Bellissimo). Also, a few days after getting manicure when I did chip one of my nails, Michelle corrected it the next day -- free of charge. Any review that tells you to go to another salon -- I just really question who wrote it (ie owners of the other salon??). In any case, try Bellissimo and judge for yourself -- I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

I give this salon a 2.5. I wore acrylic/gel nails for 10+ years while I no longer do, I have a pretty great deal of experience in nail salons and know what to look for. I look for 3 things in a good nail salon, I don't think I'm asking too much. FRIENDLY -- The owner, Michelle, that sits up front at Bellissimo is not friendly. She speaks in a condescending tone, and when I asked her to change the shape of my nail for a second time in one visit, she snapped and was shouting and throwing her towel and her (friendly) daughter had to come and calm her down. The owner's daughter is very friendly. I have been to this salon two times, and Michelle has been the only one to perform manicures, so you may be stuck with her. EASY TO COMMUNICATE WITH -- When paying for a service, it is only reasonable to expect that the person performing the service fully understand the request before completing it. This owner is not easy to communicate with, not only per the language barrier which does not bother me, but she is quite impatient and will snap if she completes something the way that she thinks she understands and then you ask her to change anything. DOES A GOOD JOB -- The owner's daughter performed my pedicure and she was very good. My heels were not the softest they had been, she seemed to follow the motions and not work specific to my feet. I had my first no-chip manicure, and I was impressed. I was concerned after wearing acrylics for years that the polish would be too goop-y and thick, and Michelle did a good job of keeping it as thin as possible. At this salon, no-chip manicures are guaranteed to last for at least 2 weeks. Unfortunately, two of my nails broke in 8-9 days, so I went back to have the manicure removed (as was recommended), and this is where my business was lost. Michelle absolutely rushed through the removal, polish was left on the edges of my nails (if you are unfamiliar, this stuff does NOT come off with polish remover like a normal manicure), and she could not spare 30 seconds to file down my nails or even throw on a clear-coat for something that I had paid $30 for 8 days prior. Note that there were absolutely no other customers in the salon at this time. Small extra efforts like this go a long way and will maintain business. As much as I love the convenience of this salon, the service here does not match the price that you pay. I do not recommend this salon and will likely never return. read more

Hidden gem! Small little shop with great prices. The technicians take their time and do a fantastic job. They have so many up to date colors to choose from, and the owner tested all the different polishes I was considering to make sure I was happy. She also inspects your nails before you leave to make sure they are done well. I got a no chip manicure ($30) and normal pedicure ($23). I received a refreshing calf massage as well as hot towels and massage for my arms. The owner has a bubbly personality and her daughter is quick and efficient with applying color. There were regulars in there when I went and I can see why. Everyone is on a first name basis and it's an overall very comfortable atmosphere. I will definitely be back, so glad I found a go to nail salon with low prices and high quality service! read more

Wonderful customer service and always so friendly. I called there today not knowing they were closed on Sundays and Michelle answered. She was cleaning the salon and getting ready for the week. I asked if I could make an appointment to come in for eyebrow waxing after work one evening and she said I could come in today and she would do it. Most times I get my nails done I leave knowing I could have done a better job. Who wants to pay for that? Any time I go to Bellissimo though, they do a perfect job and I leave relaxed and satisfied.
