Awful! Yep you guessed it another BAD pizza in the Bad Pizza Mecca of Frederick, MD. Tastes like Flea Market pizza. Only good if you're really hungry. I'm home now after leaving the place 30 minutes ago and I still can't get the aftertaste from the crust out of my mouth. At least they put sauce on it which is usually lacking here in Frederick. Not the cleanest place. No fountain drinks which is not good and they have Pepsi products which is awful. On side note the Pittsburgh decor doesn't make much sense in Ravens country or in the state of Maryland nowhere near any of those teams. Advice? Get a fountain, buy Coca Cola products, use a broom once in awhile, take the Pitt stuff down and this one star rating might get you another. read more

I found this place by complete luck and how this place doesn't have 5 stars is completely unknown to me! If you are a tourist from New York or New Haven, prepare to be disappointed. Ordered two. Red pizza (pepperoni, mushroom) White Pizza (Sausage, Peppers). Canned mushrooms are never okay on any pizza. Pepperoni was good. Pie was dry. Needs a good olive oil, less oregano, more basil. White pie needs more garlic and olive oil. Pie was dry. Sausage was good. I hate the steelers and everything about them and their fans. SO as a Ravens fan for me to still go get pizza at this place at least twice a month is saying something about the pizza. NO WHERE can you get a large pepperoni pizza for $13.00 and it be this good. The large pizza chains can't hold a candle to this place. If I could change one thing it would be that they're open on Sunday. Its football day and I host every Sunday. I live on 8th Street and thought it was awesome there was a pizza shop within walking distance. There were mixed reviews on here about the restaurant, but my optimistic self had to go with the 4 and 5 star reviews, and try it out. Unfortunately, I am siding with those who just didn't like Bellisarios. First of all, the joint itself was not very inviting, but I could get past that for good food. We got the pizza to go, and on taking out my first slice; I found a hair that was definitely not mine! EWWW! I decided to just eat the pizza anyway, but found it was greasy and didn't have the fresh homemade pizza flavor I long for in mom and pop pizza shops. Good, solid pizza -- nice chewy crust, simple tasty sauce, lots of cheese. Nice spicy pepperoni and good sausage. We always have mushrooms although they're canned/bottle and not fresh. One of the few places that still offer anchovies as a topping. Our favorite pizza in Frederick, though husband also likes Il Forno (their crust is too bready and their sauce is a bit bland for my taste, but their toppings are choice). So I was hungry for a light supper and ordered a 10 inch pizza with two toppings and a soda (no ice available). The server was nice and friendly and brought out the pie when it was done. Pizza was satisfying and I would come back again. Bellisario's pizza is located in an old strip Mall on the industrial side of Frederick. The downside of this restaurant is an over abundance of Pittsburgh Steelers decor and the interior looks like it could use a makeover. The tv was not captioned so I had no idea what was being said. It was a warm day outside and inside was alright but a good air conditioning unit would wrk wonders in this establishment. Best pizza in Frederick, bar none. Nikki Bellisario Parker is the owner, and is usually there. This pizza is "normal" pizza, not fru-fru pizza. It is a "New York" style pizza, and her toppings are great too. The one thing that is not "normal" about this place is that it is a shrine to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Nikki grew up in Pittsburgh, and every available inch of wall space is covered with Steelers stuff. I am a Baltimore Ravens fan, and normally this would scare me away, but it is the best pizza in town, and Nikki loves to argue with me about my Ravens, which is entertaining. read more

I'm a northern jersey girl born and raised and was dragged to the land of mediocre food (aka MD) by my husband. I've lived here for 5 years and haven't been able to find a good slice of pizza here until yesterday when we tried bellisario's for the first time. Although this place seems to have originated in PA, I must say it was as close to being "home" as possible. The exterior didn't look like much (which in nj, the best places to eat typically don't look like much on the outside or are attached to a gas station) so don't let that deter you. The price was great- $22 for two large cheese pizzas. The crust was PERFECT- crunchy, held it's form and was not even close to being soggy (nothing worse than soggy pizza). The only downfall was that they don't have any salads on the menu. Would have loved to have had a nice antipasto or house salad to go with it..maybe if they're reading this they'll think of adding that to their menu! read more

Bellisario's is definitely my fav pizza place in Frederick. My husband & I just moved to the area and were scouting a go-to pizza joint and this place quickly became it. We've even tried Il Forno on Route 40 and in our opinion Bellisario's is still the best. Although the owner is a die-hard Steeler's fan, I don't hold that against her or her pizza (Ravens fan here). The pizza is not only delicious but also reasonably priced. I should also put in a plug for the mozz. sticks - yum! Bellisaro's doesn't deliver, and they're closed on Sundays, so just keep that in mind when you're hungry. And if you're really hungry and you have a few friends to share it with, get The Killer - you'll see what I mean. read more
