I had one of the best times last night during an event: Vino + Paella. I was able to meet, listen to & enjoy the wines of 5 different wines from winemakers visiting from Spain & Portugal. This Thursday night flight was a great party, fun social event & generous on the pours! As an added bonus there were light bites & paella cooked right outside by staff. If you're looking for an Eastside gem on a Thursday night then you should check this venue out. Came here for a yelp event and got to do somewhat of a blind tasting of a thin grape, french wine. I enjoyed learning about wine from their sommelier. I got to taste the bubbly strawberry rose and the full body red. The full body red had some good fruit flavor. I like the red wine better than a rose. Some rose wines are hit or miss for me. The event space they have is a decent size for big groups and parties. The staff are wonderful too. I would recommend all the wine enthusiasts and experts to go to Fruit and Wine co to discover some yummy wines and learn from some cool people who know all about wine! read more

Such a fantastic experience at Seattle Wine Co. I went in searching for a rosé made from Pinot Noir I had seen on their Instagram. It was my first time and I felt a bit intimidated by the sheer selection of wines available from around the world. I was helped by Karen and a very friendly black dog that if I remember correctly wasn't theirs but still...a beautiful black lab never hurts. What you will find about SWC is their prices are amazingly low. Download the Vivino app and see for yourself. I ended up buying a couple bottles of the rosé and also a 2016 highly rated Bordeaux. The rosé had a minerality showing its terroir. So good. I usually buy my wines from Costco but now with the combination of value, selection and knowledge SWC has my attention for sure. I was driving home post-workday with the intent of purchasing a fine bottle of wine from my local vendor, when subconsciously my eyes glanced over a spinner of signs upon the side of the rode. What it said exactly I do not remember, but my subconscious mind recognized two things: the color red and the word "Wine". Autopilot kicking in, I immediately pulled a u-ey, making my way to an unfamiliar vendor and a yet unknown bottle(s) of red. At first glance I was skeptical. Playing the fool, I judged the store by both its size and inherent lack of flashy and superficial storefront (which in fact turned out to be the most endearing qualities). Upon entering I was greeted with the light, joyful chatter of the Friday night wine tasting crowd - something wholly unexpected. The interior was immaculate, the trappings and display impress upon the viewer both modern simplicity and what I can only describe as a renaissance-type elegance. The physical attributes are surpassed only by the quality and sincere interest of the connoisseurs who manage the store. Karen immediately sensed my unfamiliarity with the venue and quickly attended to my needs. After reviewing my taste preferences, experiences and price limitations, she instinctively knew which wines I would enjoy. Once reviewing the options recommended to me, I ended up leaving with two of the most delicious bottles I have ever acquired. I am currently enjoying a second glass of one of the finest Zinfandels that my lips have ever had the pleasure to taste, and I look forward to sharing my experience with fellow wine enthusiasts. 10/10 would recommend Karen to choose all of my wines for me read more

This is a nice smaller wine shop that carries quite a large variety for the amount of space they have. I've always come in asking for recommendations specific to an occasion or meal and have not been disappointed. The owners are honest in which wines they suggest and are open in sharing their preferences. The prices range from around $10- expensive and there's something for everyone. You know that feeling you get when you find a place that you enjoy so much, and you feel like it's still kind of a secret? A place that you really want to *keep* as your own little wonderful secret? Well, Seattle Wine Co. is one of those places for me. Normally I'd be hard pressed to give up the location of such a wonderful little gem. However, because I like the owners of this shop so much, and because I want them to bask in the success of the fantastic place they've created, I'm gonna share. And like a fine wine that I've been saving in my cellar to bust out at some extraordinary occasion, I'm going to share my feelings on the Seattle Wine Co with you all. I love this store. Simply love it. We are fortunate here in the greater Seattle area to have a great selection of amazing wine stores. However, what sets the Seattle Wine Co apart from the others - are both their selection of wines, as well as the friendliness of the service. Both Nabil and Karen are wonderful to work with, always smiling, and just an all around pleasure to talk to. You can tell that they genuinely value each and every customer that comes through the door and do everything to make sure that you leave there happy with your wine selection. And like some of the other reviewers have mentioned, you will find none of the wine-snobbery/attitude that you might find in other stores. (Note - that being said, I do find overall that the "attitude" normally associated with wine merchants, really isn't bad here in Seattle as compared with some of the other cities I've looked in...) I have been able to find wines here that I haven't been able to find in any other shop around town. And the prices have consistently beaten the other shops around by at least a dollar or two. It's especially great when they have their "deal of the week" wines - I've seen some of these run 30-40% less than the other shops around. Whenever I am in this part of Bellevue, I seem to always find myself making excuses to veer over towards the Seattle Wine Co. Just a great shop from top to bottom. My new wine shop of choice. Karen and Nabil are some of the nicest people I've ever met. Not only that, they have some of the most refined and experienced palettes that I've witnessed. They are consistently spot on with recommendations, they only have quality wine at their store, no low end stuff that has no taste and is generic. The quality is superb, the friendliness is amazing, the wine tastings every week are my favorite part though. Consistently providing quality tastings with knowledgeable pourers is something that is rarely consistent nowadays and they knock or out of the park. Best thing is the PRICE!!! I personally thing, their service is lacking compare to other local wine merchant. It gets even worse when you call in for product availability. It might e different, in person, they might treat you like a human being. However, when you call to place an order to ship out, it's the worst kind of feeling you can get. Oh, yeh. Worst thing is that they want a copy of your driver license and credit card email in before they ship. Are they looking to steal my identity by asking for a copy to be email to them? when you call back telling them that it's not safe to send these information over the net and I will provide my information over the phone, they rudely information that if I can't follow instruction of sending the information over email, I should go elsewhere. With an amount of competition they have, I was so surprised. There are Pete's, Esquin among others that are a lot better. Shoppers, be aware. Companies asking for a copy of your personal information aren't to be trusted. read more

The Seattle Wine Company is a great place to go to to stock your wine cellar. One of the two owners are always working and boy do they know wine! Every suggestion they've made to me has always turned out to be perfect. And they're not wine snobs at all. The last time I was in there, Nabil (one of the owners) suggested an 9 dollar a bottle Malbec that was very tasty. They don't offer case discounts, but that's because their wine is already discounted. Oh, and they have tastings on Friday and Saturday's. I feel so lucky that this place is right across the street from my work. I think I'm turning into an alcoholic. Thanks Seattle Wine Company! read more

I have enjoyed many of their weekly tastings and have found their selection of wines interesting to include many reasonably priced values from all over the world. One area I'm thoroughly disappointed with is their HOT, HOT Wine Deals or Wine of the Week specials. I can scarecly remember one I've bought yet that has not been either corked or hot or thin or simply wine that clearly WAS once magnificent but just old and faded and flat. I've returned all of them up until now and credited the $ but after opening the most recent one I bought a few months ago, an '05 Rioja that was was sold as absolutely a steal at $18, orig ~$45 just turned out to be just another bottle of faded glory. I'm through dragging these spoiled bottles back and will simply dump it and never buy another one of Karen and Nabil's Hot Hot wine deals. Been burned one too many times now. read more

I had a totally pleasant experience . I called and s/w Karen only a couple of days before my son and DIL10th wedding anniversary. She was very nice and offered suggestions and was able to deliver asap as the spa day I had ordered online did not get sent out as requested.
