UPDATE: I wanted to update my original review because I believe it's important to acknowledge when a business makes a genuine effort to address a customer's concerns. After my initial experience, I was contacted by Andrew from Bellevue Rare Coins. He took the time to listen to my concerns and understand why I had felt uncomfortable and disappointed with the original transaction. I really appreciated that Andrew took my experience seriously rather than dismissing how I felt. Andrew was professional, respectful, and thoughtful throughout our communication, and he worked with me toward a resolution that felt much more fair. Bellevue Rare Coins ultimately provided an additional $1,500, which I have now received. While I still wish my original experience had gone differently, I believe the way a business responds when a customer raises a concern says a lot. Andrew made a sincere effort to make things right and followed through on what he promised. I'm very appreciative of how he handled the situation, and I feel much more positive about Bellevue Rare Coins as a result. Thank you, Andrew, for listening and for making the effort to turn a disappointing experience into a much more positive one. read more

Honest well established business. They are very transparent and have broad knowledge when it comes to coins. I have a good time every time Ive been in the store whether I have bought something or not. They have many coins as well some jewelry and watches. In terms of pricing they are relatively competitive from a brick and mortar pespective but as always check online and other places for comps. read more

I went to Bellevue Coin in Bellevue, WA to have a gold and diamond men's ring appraised. I had the ring appraised three times previously in LA and Palm Springs. The three appraisals ranged from $14K - $16K. That was over 3 years ago. Imagine my surprise when Bellevue Coin appraised the ring for $2,100. The ring has a one-carat diamond, a 1/2-carat diamond and 6 diamond chips. The gold was in the neighborhood of an ounce. It's a rather large men's ring. I realize that Bellevue Coin is in business to make money, but come on. That appraisal was ridiculous! If you want a fair appraisal, go somewhere else. No wonder they have so many low ratings. As a side, it's pretty clear who the owners of Bellevue Coin support politically. Pretty much the same tactics as a certain president. read more

Uodate and respons to the business To clarify, the ring was disassembled. The diamond was sent to a broker for evaluation and purchased for $8k. So I have to assume the value was significantly higher for resale. The remainder was purchased for a gold value of $450. So you argument doesn't hold up. read more

I visited the store while visiting the area, the open sign was on and they unlocked the door and let me in. I. Was browsing around in the store for some time and all of a sudden, a guy asked me whether I just walked in, and he said they were not supposed to open the door for me because is closed at 3. He escorted me out. When I was out I checked the time on my phone, 3:02, I am pretty sure I have spent more than just two minutes in there. Not a very good experience as a customer, i have spent a lot in other local coin shop when price is right, but in this store I didn't get a chance to ask about price. :( read more

They bought stolen jewelry and coins from a known felon, they may not have known, but none the less, they claimed to have sold all of my jewelry and well my coin collection, they didn't have to return those either. The guy that stole my jewelry committed suicide. Bellevue Rare coins doesn't have to return my stolen jewelry or my silver coins, even though its all pictured and documented with the police report that they bought all of my jewelry and silver coins. I haven't looked into the laws, yet, but I feel Bellevue Rare Coins should be held accountable for stolen property/jewelry regardless if they melted it down or sold it, they should be paying me back at cost! They difiantly have the money. And maybe they would change some of their policies and do back ground checks. But I just wonder how many people this has happened too?? I liked Bellevue Rare Coins.... but now I see them from a different lens and my perception has completely changed, they get away with buying stolen property if no one reports it within 30 days..... That's just crazy to me. I was like maybe a couple days too late. at which point they could say whatever they wanted to say, they don't care at all. if they did care, they would be offering something back to me.... right? I will never again sell a damn thing to them, i will not support this company in anyway, selling to them would be condoning their part in buying stolen property. I hope you wont either. read more

This place ripped off my daughter!! She had a $3000 diamond pendant ( we have the appraisal). They offered her $310 and she was in a bad spot and took it. I am so upset with them for taking advantage of a young girl in a bad situation. I thought this place was supposed to reputable. Honest and decent. Whoops........ read more

Mixed. It's a decent place to unload gold and silver bullion in a hurry. You will get sort of close to spot like most places and it's super fast but I would ONLY ONLY ONLY sell bullion here or junk silver. If you have anything that's silver or gold that at all could be worth above spot, sell it elsewhere (ebay and be just w a i t?) and here's why. First I was not impressed with their selection of coins. I don't do jewelry so I'll focus on coins. There were too many ungraded low value coins in paper holders really not worth putting on display. Then they had far too many graded coins that were cleaned. Coins that were fairly modern that were cleaned or details. That's not very impressive. The one coin I wanted was only $15 below PCGS retail as well. I didn't bother to haggle. Second, selling coins and bullion. I sold silver and gold bullion here, not much but enough I didn't need anymore and got some money back. I made a profit anyway since I sat on it for years and it was close to spot enough for me. Fine. But they SEVERELY undervalued several high grade coins I had (PCGS, MS64 and higher), including one that was a far better grade than they had of the same coin they had on display in their case. Not only that but they mistakenly looked at a silver Kennedy '76 proof from San Francisco for 1 second (didnt check the mint mark) and said it was clad. You can feel it's silver just by holding it. The mint mark says S. You can see it's silver by looking at the side. They looked over a 10 Ike complete proof set (all years) and said they were all silver. Nope, 7 are, 3 are clad. Offered $125 when the value wholesale should have been $120-160 in my opinion and $125 is a real lowball. I have two BU and AU rolls of silver dimes that I was severely lowballed on. I was offered less than $44 an ounce of silver for them according to my notes. Silver right now is well above $60 an ounce. Do your math before selling, always. Know the worth before agreeing. The only two things I accepted severe lowballs on were two ungraded cents that weren't worth much anyway that I have better graded (and crazy toned) versions of that are worth WAY more at home. But that was only a 30 dollar loss there or so, so I didn't care. Back to the graded PCGS coins I had, they were all lowballed severely and I decided to keep all my graded coins I took down there. One was worth $900-$1100 and I was not letting it go for $675. The rest were worth less than $200 or $50 but I kept those out of principal. My date did buy some silver bullion there and the price was reasonable and she got an ok deal on some jewelry (I think) but jewelry isn't my expertise. I mean silver did keep going up by my check after she bought but who knows if it'll hit $70. Her money, right? And it wasn't an unreasonable buy. TLDR: Do your homework on what you bring before you sell it there. Know it's wholesale and retail value. Take your graded coins elsewhere or to a real auction or ebay. Bullion - if you can stand the price below spot and you made enough of a profit on it like I did to not really care then have at it. I will likely swing by there every now and then to see if they have anything reasonable to match what I'm looking for if it's not too close to retail and is under $200 or something. I'm playing the long game on my collection. I will say they did have a couple of verified coins that I thought were maybe worth having (standing liberty quarters, barbers, didn't look over the morgans, but did look at the 19th century gold) but I didn't ask about the price. I knew the value in my head anyway and I'm pretty sure it would have been 30% higher. If the price was lower and I didn't just shell out a lot for a lot of coins elsewhere which was a deal I had worked on for weeks with a tremendous upside and ROI, I would have possibly considered getting the roman gold coin they had. No I didn't even ask for the price as I already knew what it's worth and figured the markup would have been a bit painful. Even though it wasn't the emperor I was looking for. I know they gotta make money. I know they'll offer wholesale and not retail. But oof. Just being honest here. Set your expectations before selling here and walking in and be... realistic? Bellevue rent is expensive next to the mall. I guess that fountain and that wacky funnel art cost millions. But yeah I'll probably swing back by and browse and if I find something I like maybe I'll buy. No hard feelings here just being honest. Maybe even to get a second hand appraisal or two. Who knows. read more

I bought in a pair of earrings that were weight at 22 grams and the gold tested out at 22 carrots (they were from India). He offered me $750. That is $34 a gram. Unhappy people work here; the "shop girls" know nothing about diamonds---do not bring anything valuable inside and don't let them lock the door behind you. Creepy experience. I brought a 8+ct yellow fancy plat ring to test them. I showed brought original certs (GIA) and appraisal(s) showing values all over 53K. They were like starving salivating wolves circling me. Shop girl 1 texted (owner) for an offer--without laying eyes on the item, they lowballed me at about 4.2% of true value. I thanked them and quickly left. I sold it back in NY for 32.5K. Do NOT support a business who preys on people. They will ultimately lose their license. read more

Silver spot price is $75/oz and they offer $66/oz. The same item they will sell you for $80, that's an 18% spread in the bid and ask price. Additionally in WA state if you pay their price of $80 you are subject to 10% sales tax now so your cost is $88 on something they will buy back from you for $66, you are esentially losing 33% of your investment if you bought from them today and tried to sell it back to them tomorrow. If you have any precious metals to sell, do not go here. If you have precious metals to buy, do so outside of WA state. read more

No acknowledgement that I was even there. Long wait time. After listening to them deal with the people in front of me I realized that they were not a place that you want to deal with. I went into the Bellevue location a couple times before Christmas. I had a bunch of what I thought wasb925 jewelry . Some marked some not. The 2 guys who helped me were very quick to tell me "No Thank you". I was pist and confused. I thought it was real. Most of it being marked and all. They did not . So I checked it all myself. I must say I am so incredibly impressed with how quickly they knew it was not real. I mean quiet literally 1 glance and into the nope pile. With each piece I was saying "but it's marked"! Well they were so right ! Fake as hell! The staff were all very professional. As I waited each time I saw lots of walks of life come in and I must tell you they treated everyone with the same respect ! Wether you were there with a pocket full of cash or an empty one trying to sell gold. You guys are really good people. The rest of the community should take notes from you guys! Do NOT trust the staff and their professional lying skills! They will tell you your gems aren't worth anything because of the manufactured gems nowadays and not being able to tell the difference, hence your gems not worth much... LIES!!! I was in there selling items (which I had done several times, unfortunately) I walked in as an older man, obviously desperate for cash, like many of us that go in there to sell our family heirlooms. I literally heard one of the staff say, "oh yeah" very happily and celebratory, another staff said, "did you score diamonds?" The guy said " oh yeah, big ones" they laughed and then realized I was in there. I wasn't going there because I had jewelry laying around, I went out of desperation due to job loss. It was my fourth time going in, up to that point I had made the mistake of trusting these sheisters, the way they manipulate your trust is disgusting. I decided to sell one item because I needed gas... I found another place called Seattle Gold, they aren't sheisters, they are at least honest about what they are doing. I took gold there, received almost double what Bellevue coins gave me, and for the jewelry they weren't going to resell, they took the gems out and gave them back to me so I could sell just the gold, most places want the gold to melt. I left this place in shock knowing what Bellevue coins had done, but it was too late to do anything about it. I had spent the money they gave me, so I couldn't even try to purchase it back even if I wanted, which I doubt they would allow anyway. I travelled to Pittsburgh to visit family, a friend of a family member has become a jeweler, I shared the story with them; they couldn't believe what I was telling them, and how much I was paid. Anyway, STAY AWAY FROM BELLEVUE COIN! I am sad I ever went there, I sold items for half of what I should have received. Do your due diligence before you sell your jewelry, call around to different places see what they offer, and how they go about purchasing your precious gold. read more

If you are thinking you will get a good return on your investment think again. If you get 50% retail price for your coins you have done well. The employee offered a price off the top of his head without verification of value. One price regardless of year or condition. They basically pay $23 tops for any silver dollar unless it's graded then you may get more. Save your collection and go to coin shops that don't spend a ton of money on advertising and hire people with experience and knowledge in the industry . At Bellevue, rare coins, you will pay for this advertisement by giving away your precious collection. read more

I won't be back...actually to any of their locations! Friday I stopped by this particular location; I figured, I've worked in Bellevue and their reviews weren't too bad... The star is just for having a pleasant attitude. Other than that it was a fairly disappointing visit. I came in with my service dog and we waited patiently. There were 3 reps when I entered and 1 greeted me and said he be right with me...once he'd finished with his customer he avoided eye contact and rushed to the backoffice and shut the door. I patiently waited for the next rep to finish with their customers. He greeted me and was approachable. Before we continue, I wasn't wearing a suit, just my work clothes, a pull over and a back pack. As I began to take out my currency I felt a sense of disinterest from this rep also. I explained that I wasn't sure I wanted to sell and they offered free appraisals so I wanted an idea of their value, why not right.‍ I have: $6 in bicentennial quarters $2.50 bicentennial JFK 1/2 dollars $1 bicentennial Eisenhower dollar $2 Eisenhower dollars $1 Wheat ear and Native head pennies A native head nickel 2 Native head pennies pre 1943 Nickels older than 1965 D on reverse Blue and red seal paper currency I knew I wasn't going to get fair pricing as soon as he told me the native head nickel was only worth face value...even one is worth at least $.07. All the coins listed previously, he said they were all only worth face value. He paid $10 for a .999 silver JFK 1/2 dollar...I just needed a receipt to compare their value to other sources. He didn't even bother looking at any of the presumed valuable coins(above)...he said there's a slim chance any of it was worth anything other than face value. Face value for a red seal $2 bill?!?! It's one thing to judge someone based on communication, intellect and presentation. It's a whole different story when someone's judging based on appearance or race...I truly wonder what his reluctant complacency was all about...? I walked out with a very bad taste in my mouth. This is not the place to go to have items appraised. I brought in a gold bar I had purchased from an online bullion dealer; as counterfeits have become such a problem I wanted to have it tested. The associate was very dismissive and said they would only test it if I was going to sell the bar to them. I even asked about paying for an appraisal and I was told this is not a service they offer. The associate told me "we are not in the business of testing the metals other companies sell". He was arrogant and made us feel like we were not worth his time.
