I was so excited to tell my husband about it when I got home! He said he has gotten meat here before (many years ago) and it wasn't AS good as the Carson location. That bummed me out because I really looking forward to it... Anywho, he cooked it for us last night and sadly, he was right. It really wasn't anywhere near as good. :-( It wasn't bad by any means but it wasn't as flavorful and delicious as the other location. It didn't have the same "zing" or "oh, YUM" if that makes sense. So I will no longer buy the meat from here. We'll spend the time and gas to go further to get the GOOD stuff. They do have great produce and sauce prices so I'll probably be back for those.

I was craving chips and didn't want to drive so decided to check this place out. It's a short walking distance from my apartment. Good thing I walked because there wasn't very much parking. I think the neighborhood uses it 24/7 regardless if they're in the store or not. The prices are standard, nothing too expensive or cheap. This place is a good spot when I'm running low on snacks.

My steak sandwich was huge and the meat was as tender as I remember. So glad a friend mentioned he saw someone on social media who gave A-1 a glowing review that led us to grabbing sandwiches and hanging out at Averill Park to catch up on things. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only negative might be the parking which is street only. We got lucky and it wasn't very busy this is not always the case. There isn't anyplace to eat in the market but there is a park across the street. They do have some shady characters hanging around at times so you might want to find a different location to eat your food if you're not taking it home.
