This is the BEST Albertsons ever all the people are nice and is a nice market! They have epic food and sections also!

Darius was my checker again today. This is the third time he has checked me out. Each time his attitude gets worse and worse. The first time I thought he might have had a bad so I get it we all have bad days. The second time he checked me out I had a rain check for chicken. He rang it up incorrectly and tried to charge me $250 for chicken when I brought it to his attention he got mad and cursed at me. He eventually had to bring his store manager over to correct his mistake Today I saw him again. When I asked him how his day was he mumbled something. I'm a senior who has trouble hearing sometimes so I asked him to repeat what he said. He said you heard me! I said I honestly didn't hear what you said then he mumbled something under his breath. I really hope things get better for him or he finds a new job somewhere he likes better. read more

I've been shopping Albertsons from when it was Lucy's but will not spend a dime there since finding out they retain domestic abusers on their staff. My husband always gets me flowers from Albertsons (and sometimes Vons), and I absolutely love them! He's very romantic--just like me--and he surprises me with flowers at least once a month. I can always tell where they're from because when he gets flowers from other places, they just don't open and blossom the same way as the ones from Vons and Albertsons. Not only are these our go-to grocery stores, but their floral department is truly amazing. The flowers are fresh, beautiful, and long-lasting. They can even create custom arrangements for you--roses or whatever you have in mind. Highly recommend checking them out if you're looking for quality flowers and great service! read more

Terrible customer service from front end employees, disgusting behavior and absolutely unacceptable behavior by Roman, and Allison who has harassing customers in the lines. Service is non existent, as far as front end employees. Produce section is by far one of the worst, oranges and lemons are always moldy. Ground beef selection slim to none. Ambience is the only thing worth one star because the store is clean however one of the worst places for customer service. Ive been coming here for almost 20 years. I regret not leaving a review. The staff are friendly amd the hot food section is delicious. The fried chicken, mango habanero chicken, and potato wedges are good. I especially like their Mac n cheese behind the counter. Yes it ls pre-made but their Mac n cheese tastes so much better than a lot of restaurants. Its creamy and cheesy not dry. The groceries are not the cheapest prices but this a good quality grocery store. read more

I ordered fruit from this location through UberEats, and unfortunately, the quality was very disappointing. The fruit was not fresh and could potentially cause stomach issues. I have reached my limit with Albertson's and, specifically, the La Mesa CA store on Fletcher Parkway. Their produce is unreliable at best. The last two times I purchased "fresh" corn, I had to throw it out the day I purchased it because once the husks were removed, the stalk end was discolored and rotten. Twice I have had to throw out entire watermelons because one was white and stringy in the middle and the other was overripe. That aside, today - Friday afternoon at 4:15, there were two checkout open with 5-6 carts / customer in each line. The Self Check out was empty thanks to some braintrust who decided that limiting self-checkout to 15 items was a good idea. When I suggested to the cashier that they needed to get him some help, he inclined his eyes to the ceiling and said "there are cameras everywhere and when they see employees standing around talking, they cut hours." Seriously? Instead of firing people, they cut the labor hours in the store. I worked in this industry and my experience with half the employees in the store would lead me to fire them on the spot if I could. They are unfriendly, lazy and, clearly a detriment to the customer and the store's reputation. Sad!!! One more thing - if you want to buy alcohol you used to have to ring a buzzer on the alcohol aisle, someone would come get the bottle for you and drop it at the front desk until you checked out - inconvenient, but I understand trying to avert theft. But this store, for some reason, has now removed the buzzers and you have to go hunt someone down to open the cabinet. The last time I was there, the clerk simply handed the bottles to the two of us that were waiting. More convenient for us, but clearly not following policy. This same woman checked me out and never made eye contact, never addressed me - it was like I was a major inconvenience to her. I'm going to Sprouts, Aldi, Trader Joe's, anything to avoid the Kroger monopoly that apparently feels they can treat customers like crap and we will still keep coming back. read more

Friday night, chicken urges, the deli is almost closing..., They were out of dark meat. That's okay. I understand. However, the employee did not greet us, was rubbing her boogers and her face with the same gloves that she was getting ready to fix our food with, during a Covid upsurge. I've been coming here since this place opened, and although its always clean, I dont understand how inconsistent it is here. The ONLY part that deserves constant recognition is the DELI. The employees there are always friendly and nice, the bakery is also really attentive. The MEAT department is where they need to get it together! I waited for assistance and it took LITERALLY 25 MINUTES for someone to come and help! What was even worse was that an employee came to help and go get someone, then forgot that we were there! Then the guy that FINALLY came to help made us wait even longer! Some of the cashiers could also be a little more friendly or at least act like they want to be there lol. This review is mainly based on my experience with the drive up and go meat counter orders. Everytime I've order meat from the meat counter it seems like I always get the worst cuts or the left over meat pieces. I order marinated flank steak and didn't get one complete steak it was all very small pieces and stips.. it could be thats all thats left...but its happened multiple time. Also ordered petite sirloin steaks... half the steak was fat. It might be someone preference to have that much fat..but not mine. Managers need to replace workers in the Deli section! Okay specially the two older ladies , they are rude as hell ! Like why are they going back and forth with customers . Love Albertson's. They have all the things I can't find in other stores. Like I was looking for special teas like Jasmin green tea. I found it here, they have a huge teaheaven. I used to buy habanero chicken, idk if they still have it but it'sso good. This store always has great specials and sales, so prices are competitive with other groceries. I bought some fried chicken here twice and experienced bad customer services. The first time the man selectively picked only dark and small pieces for me. I pointed at the bigger pieces and he just ignored me. The second time the young girl at the counter was so mean. I was not sure why she was so angry but she was yelling at me for not understanding that "we don't have thighs ". Even the man noticed and walked to us to listened and looked at me. ****April 17, 2022**** Had to come back and post a review regarding my husband's experience with the Albertsons Meat Department. He went in to purchase the ribeye which was on sale. He wanted to have it cut which we've never had a problem before having them cut meat for us. The gentleman that was assisting him said, I don't think we can do that but let me go talk to my manager. Came back and said, that his manager said no we can't do that we've turned away a few other customers because of that. Can you believe he came back and told my husband that. I was furious when he got home and told me that. We've been shopping at this store for years never once have we ever had a problem having them cut meat for us. Now all of a sudden we have a problem. I went to the deli on Saturday evening. I wanted to buy the 8 piece fried chicken but the nice and honest lady told me no I don't recommend buying this because this batch is very old since like lunchtime and it was already like 6:15 and of course I listened and thanked her. She's not to blame of course but what about the other people working there; they should cook a fresh batch close to dinner time. At the other Albertsons in Carson where I usually go they always cook a fresh batch for the dinner rush instead of serving something that's been under the heat lamp for hours. The way they present the salads or sides at the Deli is very sloppy too. They do not look fresh and appetizing. In the original Albertsons on Carson and Main the presentation of the salads is very elegant and beautiful. I wanted to buy the Waldorf fruit salad but it didn't look very good, looked sloppy and old as if they made it the previous day or at the latest 6 to 8 hours ago. I wish there were more check stands open than just one but at least the one worker who ringed me up was very nice, same for his bag boy. I'm new to this particular Albertsons since the one I usually go to on Carson and Main Street is closing forever soon. I hope this new Albertsons will get better soon. The way it is now makes me miss the old Carson Albertsons on Main and Carson street even more. read more

I was caught completely off guard by the terrible customer service i received today at their "deli counter". I had a late lunch today, and i was in the mood for one of their salads. I always come here for the selections of salads. But i will be damned if i give another dollar after spoken to soo rudely. There's a short older African American associate who works the deli counter. She was with another customer in front of the counter. All i did was signal to her to ask if the "counter" was still open, before i could say anything she put put up 2 fingers and sternly told me "IM BUSY". Well shit my bad. I have been to this Albertsons multiple times when I'm in the area, but today, July 4th was very different. It was the best service I have ever received from any store , especially first thing in the morning. I drove from Culver City to Carson this morning at 8:30am to order 50 pieces of chicken for a party. There was no wait . Definitely the best time to come. There's a wonderful handsome man name Joe that works in the deli. He was so amazing . He made my day . He was so friendly, upbeat, bright smile, funny and very helpful. He definitely brought a smile to my face . Imagine your first contact of the day and you're greeted like this. If I lived in the area , I would make an excuse to come here everyday. I was totally uplifted. He took care of my order in less than 5 minutes . Simply amazing! Thank you Joe, Walter and the other people working this morning in the deli . Meat selections here are very poor, this is the 3rd time i go to buy meat as a last resort and not only did it smell like cheese (again) the color was off almost purple. Im not sure how this establishment is still open passing off expired food. The people in the local area deserve a better source of healthy nutritious food. I used to go to this Albertson's a lot more when I was in the area. I have found it to be one of the better stocked grocery stores in the area, especially for ready-made food. Their fried chicken alone gets them 5 stars! I've had fried chicken from other Albertson's and for some reason, it is not as good. I wonder if anyone else has felt the same way. I have no problem driving out of my way to this one if I want something specific that I know they have. Out of many grocery stores that I've been to, they also have a good amount and good choices of party platters/trays that are already ready. I've noticed that they really do it for holidays, like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Memorial Day, etc. If you get invited somewhere last minute, you can easily walk in there and grab something that's already put together. No ordering ahead of time necessary. Just note that the platters that they have ready do not feed a large amount of people, so you will have to order ahead if you have a big group. They will have all kinds of fruit platters, 7-layer dip, salsa and chips, cheese, crackers, and meats, and other creative platters. The store is huge, clean, and well stocked and it is definitely one of the busiest in the area. The biggest highlight are the self-checkout lanes! read more

I have given this store ample opportunity to correct their lack of service. Upfront, this store is filthy. This was pre COVID. They are unable to get their act together to handle online shopping. The 3 times I have used this service it has been a nightmare. Last Friday, they never even filled the order and the excuse was this happens a lot! However, they billed me. In an effort to get more information this morning, it is clear they do not have a semblance of customer service. Ramona, Naomi and Greg missed the customer service classes if Albertsons even gives a darn about customer service. They for sure do not care that when you show up at 4 PM for the order that took 8 hours to fill and is dinner is a "list order". Zero more chance for this filthy store. I've been going to this Albertsons for a short while now, and really like this store. Shelves are always stocked, the store is huge, so the selections are numerous. They have a great section for fruits/vegetables. The biggest thing for me is you don't spend a bunch of time waiting in a checkout line, like you do at some other grocery stores. I had purchased a cake from this location before and everything was great. I ordered an 8 inch single layer cake with filling. However, this time around I wanted to order the same cake but the lady who worked at the bakery alone that day persistently tells me that I would need to purchase a 2-layer cake in order to receive filling on my cake. So I had to purchase this 2 layer 8" cake for $25. On the pick up day I noticed there were 3 different employees from the bakery and talked to them about this. They informed me that the single layer cake with filling is an option. I ended up speaking to the bakery manager, I think her name is Catalina and she informed me she will talk to the employee that told me I needed to buy the 2 layer cake for filling. She also refunded me on this purchase, which I appreciate. The cake was fine at the store but by time I got home to inspect the cake, the top layer has slip off the cake making it look horrible. I think the cake hasn't been in the fridge long enough to set. The cake was held on the ride home so it wouldn't move around. The design on the cake was nice, however I wasn't too thrilled to see the top layer slide off a cake like that. This is something that I never seen or experienced before. When you walk in the door you smell spoiled meat dead fish it needs good cleaning detail change the oil periodically the cooking area needs detailed cleaning, and to maintain this often. just a meet and poultry area and the milk area needs to be cleaned periodically in the freezers. Someone needs to check to see if the freezers are washed down and sanitized everything should be washed down and sanitize. read more

Stopped by this afternoon to inquire about a cake I wanted designed for my birthday. I waited over 10 minutes and I'm still trying to figure out why. Because the store was as deserted as the Mojave Desert. No one was in the store or near the bakery department for that matter. When the female baker finally decided to walk to the front. She was VERY RUDE, uninterested and non chalant. Her attitude was NASTY! I proceeded to ask my questions because my feelings aren't easily hurt. But I operated off energy, good or bad. This bakers energy was so fool when she told me they don't design what I wanted. I said okay. She proceeded to tell me what they did offer, but I interrupted her and said there is no need to continue have a nice day. (*smile) I probably would have changed the design of my cake because it wasn't that important. But I didn't want that type energy going into something that's important to me. So here's the tip of the day, I could have been a CEO, a manger from a different store, an undercover boss or even a secret shopper. Always put your best foot forward and be great at it .
