I had walked by this small neighborhood market many times and noticed the sign for deli sandwiches,…read moreso today I decided on a hot roast beef for lunch. It's a small, quaint Mediterranean international market with an interesting inventory. The proprietor was very friendly, the shop has a great local vibe. My sandwich was thickly stuffed with tender, sliced roast beef, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo and mustard on a tasty, soft roll. The large sandwich at $8.99 is easily big enough to share. Now that I've found this local gem, it will be a regular lunch stop for me when I'm in Redondo.

They have a food court, a bakery that looked ridiculously good, and a huge grocery selection. I kept finding sauces and products I hadn't seen at other Japanese markets. But the prepared-food section was what really got me. Everything looked incredibly fresh. The onigiri alone had me wanting to start grabbing things even though I had literally just eaten. I basically walked around realizing I need to come back hungry because there's way too much here that I want to try. Definitely one of those markets I could accidentally spend way too much time in. One thing I would not lock yet: the Japanese market's name. From your description I know exactly which experience you're talking about, but I don't want to guess the business name and attach the review to the wrong place. Also, before we redo Big Dan's, I'd check whether you already reviewed it since you think you may have.

It's a massive two story building in Gardena with groceries and a conveyor belt sushi sit-down restaurant on the second floor. They have a large parking lot that is usually fine but can get wild on the weekends as it wraps around the building - instead of just being a huge open lot or garage. They carry many Hawaiian items, in addition to Japanese products from eats to skincare. Their grab & go sandos are pretty good - both the pork katsu sando and the egg salad sandwiches are tasty. They have a hot buffet so you can try up to 20 different items for a by the pound price. The Gindaco counter in the food section has takyoyaki (fried octopus balls) which are popular here.
