Got there early before a movie and wanted to eat something light! Super delicious, fresh, and many mouthfuls!
    Sarah H.

This was the shortest amount of time I ever spent in a restaurant and thus the shortest review I've ever written on yelp, but let me tell you they had exactly what I was looking for (when I didn't even know what I was looking for) to eat before I went to the movies. I was rushing through the market on my way to meet a friend at AMC and was starving but didn't want to eat too much and then not be able to eat popcorn. Yamacho has so many delicious offerings ready to be picked up and I cannot wait to return and try more items. Plus the employee was right there making even more items fresh. On this day, I grabbed an onigiri (salmon) and ate it on the way to the movies. It was the perfect meal, had salmon throughout, wasn't overly dry, very fulfilling mouthfuls! As I type this, I might go back again today and get some more!

    Warabi Mochi for dessert

We visit Mitsuwa food court monthly. Every now and again we opt to visit Yamacho RMK and see what they have on offer. It's one of the first stalls you see as you enter Mitsuwa. On this trip we were planning an entirely different lunch menu, but stopped by to see what they had. Pretty soon the decision was made as we purchased: Poke Bowl Chicken karaage Crab musubi Warabi mochi Other than the Warabi mochi, everything was a new "experience" for us. The poke bowl was ok. Filling and satisfying. I think I'm not too keen on the sauce used for the poke. I'll try another fish item next time. Chicken karaage. Served room temp. Simple. Easily a repeat if we're purchasing another item. Crab musubi. We bought this on a whim. Thought we needed to augment the poke and chicken. I was wrong as the two items were enough, but it digress. At first bite, the crab musubi is just ok. However, as you continue to eat it, you start to crave another bite. Very strange. Our only other comment is that it's a bit overstuffed. It can be more compact. Warabi mochi. I love it! I don't know why but I can eat this forever. Enjoy!

Fun little bento place just east of the main food court in Mitsuwa. They have carefully homemade katsu and karaage that's ready to go (after heating) and tastes really amazing if you just need some takeout. The people are always very friendly and the quality of ingredients is much higher than the bentos inside the market. There's also a microwave nearby if you'd like to heat up your food and eat in the food court. My kids really love it!

    Chicken yakitori and rice balls
    Foodie D.

Tried the Yakitori Chicken with 2 chicken onigiri The chicken had the grill flavor but required soy to add more flavor to it. Chicken was a bit dry and about the size of one piece chop up chicken thigh. Chicken onigiri had taste the rice vinegar but not I couldn't taste the veggies or bits of chicken meat in it. Everything in cooler was cold so requires it to be microwave. There is a microwave next to it to heat up but there are no plates and rice balls are wrap in plastic.

Yamacho RMK takes me back to Japan! Located at the front of Mitsuwa Marketplace at Del Amo Fashion is this little eatery that offers bento boxes and karaage. I recently got to try their Hokkaido Hamburg Steak Bento and was instantly reminded of one of my favorite trips ever to the land of the rising sun. The Hokkaido Hamburg Steak bento came with so much good food! It had two large Hamburg steaks on top of spaghetti. It also came with a side of potatoes and karaage, a side of octopus with egg and a side of rice! It was definitely a lot of food and could easily be shared between two people. My favorite items from the bento were the Hamburg steak and the karaage. The Hamburg steak was very lean and tender. The karaage was good in flavor. I definitely enjoyed the Hokkaido Hamburg Steak bento and excited to try their other bento offerings in the future.

Yamacho Hasegawa is one of many food stalls located in Mitsuwa's food court. This grab-and-go stall specializes in Hokkaido style seafood including the following items listed below (prices as of September 2022): [Frozen]: Hokkaido salmon ikura ($110), extra large frozen SABA (mackerels - $22), Greenland halibut ($32) ,etc. [Package]: Hokkaido bean snacks ($5 for 5 bags) [Hot / microwavable food]: Hokkaido style karaage (fried chicken), Yamacho special fried rice onigiri ($2.50), Yamacho special dashi (broth) onigiri ($3), homemade sweet miso marinated black cod ($16), eel dashi tamago ($17), Yamacho sushi bowl ($18), dashi maki tamago ($12), grilled Pacific saury pieces (2 pieces for $12), dried cut wakame ($16), fried hand made beef & pork patty ($10), juicy and tender chicken katsu (thigh meat - $8) [Bento - under heating lamps]: Mild salted Japanese mackerel bento ($15), authentic Hokkaido salmon bento ($17), buri (yellow tail) teriyaki bento ($21), special Gindara "black cod" bento ($22), charcoal broiled fatty eel bento ($26). *** Yamacho special fried rice onigiri (chicken & green onion / 193 calories / $3) & Yamacho special dashi (broth) onigiri (little garlic applied in fried rice for better taste / egg & onion fried rice / 220 calories / $2.50): These were the cheapest items I could get at this stall. Originally I thought you can just eat them cold, but the staff pointed at the microwave and I heated up both onigiris in 90 seconds. Both onigiris tasted alright and it's nice to know total calories, but chicken & green onion onigiri definitely tasted better than egg & green onion onigiri. *** Bentos are really expensive and it's hard to spend $15+ when you can literally get 50% off on leftover sushi in Mitsuwa Marketplace after 6:45 PM. I may grab few onigiris for a change of pace, but there are certainly better food options within this Mitsuwa food court.

    Deluxe salmon bowl
    Eric F.

One of the eateries in Mitsuwa's food court, Yamacho serves up a great variety of bentos along, seafood bowls, snacks, and drinks. My wife opted for the mackerel bento while I went with a deluxe salmon bowl. The stewed veggies and plump chicken karaage were hits while the fish was unfortunately heavily oversalted. Thankfully the rice helped balance this out, but it only went so far. On the other hand, the generously portioned cuts of salmon in my bowl were very fresh and the ikura a welcome addition to each bite. A bit pricy at $18, but well worth it for the quality and amount. Service was friendly and efficient and with the expansive, well-spaced apart outdoor dining patio in full swing, now's the time to come by for some tasty lunch!

Straight from japan featuring all the Japanese fans such as melon pan, creme puffs, yummy Japanese bread! Very friendly Japanese style service. Try the chocolate melon pan to die for! Located in new marukai food court area. Also features coffee and tea drinks.

Salmon Onigiri, fried chicken, and Curry.

Nice selection, especially the curry! The Japanese style chicken was delicious and will order again next time.

Zangi Chicken, a Hokkaido style fried chicken

For the past decade, Yamacho Hasegawa has been a staple of every Food Fair at Mitsuwa Marketplace and now they have a permanent location. Now you don't have to wait every 4 months for Hokkaido specialties like yaki hotate, squid guts, and tobiko squid or frozen Hokke or Hokkaido salmon. In addition to their standard fair, they have added chirashi with crab and other Hokkaido Specialities and Hokkaido style karaage, which is a type of Japanese fried chicken that is coated in a starchy flour then deep fried so it is lightly crispy, which they call Zangi chicken. They also have some omusbi, shrimp katsu, and other cooked items that are all prepackaged to go. As mentioned before I go for the okazu, the small items that I like to eat with rice for breakfast. You can actually get many different items and throw a great Japanese Tapas party with items to blow up your IG stories. Yamacho Hasegawa is located in the food court right as you walk in.

I've lived close by for years and I gotta say, after coming to Quality Seafood twice (once in Nov…read more '25 and in March '26), I will definitely stop taking this South Bay gem for granted. I've only had the pleasure of having the following items below, but I'll be back in the coming years to try more. - Calamari [7.7/10]: regardless of what size you order, the portion is generous. This place doesn't overdue it with the batter and lets the flavor the fresh squid shine - which I adore. Only giving this dish its rating because there are a few Italian spots in Torrance that have my heart when it comes to the best calamari. - Fish Tacos [8.5/10]: Every bite gives a nice crunch of both batter and fish. I've had unpleasant experiences where I've had pockets of crispy batter, here the fish tacos are so great it actually doesn't need much support from lemon and/or tartar sauce. Be sure to order a couple of these bad boys during happy hour for $5 each. - Clam Chowder [8.3/10]: This place hits the mark on the texture of a classic chowder. Admittedly my cup could have used a touch of salt. I would have liked a bigger portion for what I paid for, but if you're in the mood for something hot to compliment your fried seafood - this is worth getting. This is also featured on the happy hour menu for $5 - Garlic Fries [10/10]: My favorite bite from this place so far. Not on the happy hour menu, but 100% worth getting and eating with your fish, shrimp, crab, lobster, etc. Perfect amount of seasoning and that white wet sauce on top is so so so addicting. The unsung hero of my most recent visit was Jose over at Station 20. In addition to taking my order, he single handedly called out orders for everyone by the dining the area during the end of happy hour rush. A whole wave of customers came in less than 10 mins I placed my order so I can only imagine how overwhelming things were on the service side of things. For my most recent visit, most of my order came in and my garlic fries came in last. I could tell there was a mix up in the kitchen, but Jose apologized and said a new order would be ready for me in less than 5. Definitely worth the delay/wait imo. Food is great. Seating is limited. Customer service is superb. But once you fish your food, you gotta take a long walk along the pier. It's a wonderful way to rejuvenate and make sure the quality seafood digests well. Can't wait to explore more of the menu, including the happy hour drinks.

I've been coming to Quality Seafood for the past couple of years, usually on Fridays for fish…read moretacos, and I've ordered the same fish taco and shrimp taco combination 40 to 50 times. It has generally been a place I've enjoyed and recommended, which is why this stood out. There's always been some normal inconsistency in portion. Some days the fish is bigger, some days smaller. Same with the shrimp, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. That never bothered me. It's part of a busy seafood counter, and I've never felt the need to say anything. What I got today was different. The fish taco was on the small side and dry, but the shrimp taco was the issue. It was served fried, very dark, and overcooked to the point the shrimp was tough. When I opened it after a few bites, I realized I was mostly eating tortilla and toppings. There were only about three shrimp total, which is noticeably less than what I've consistently received here before. In prior visits, I've also been asked whether I want my tacos grilled or fried, including the shrimp, and I've consistently chosen the lighter, non-fried option. What I received today was not that. I approached the counter politely and simply said the taco wasn't good, pointing out the quality and portion issue. I wasn't trying to make a scene and I'm not someone who returns food, especially over something this small. I was more pointing it out so it didn't keep happening. I was told nothing could be refunded because I had taken a few bites, so I asked to speak with a manager. That's where this went sideways. Instead of listening, the manager immediately dismissed it. She repeatedly told me that what I described was "not possible," insisted they have never prepared shrimp any differently in her 27 years there, and said they only ever serve three shrimp. As someone who has ordered this exact item many times, I was essentially being told that my own experience did not happen. The conversation ended with me being asked to leave. I've worked in and managed restaurants. Mistakes and inconsistencies happen. This was a simple situation that could have been handled in seconds, either by replacing the taco or offering a refund. Instead, it was denied outright and escalated. This wasn't about a $5 taco. It was about how it was handled. Being told that your repeated experience is "not possible" and then being asked to leave is not an acceptable way to handle a reasonable concern.
