    How many shrimp I ate
    Gabe D.

Absolutely delicious, head about 70 shrimp with the all you can eat shrimp Thursday, unfortunately I had to rush back home probably two times the speed limit and have been immobilized on the toilet for about an hour with explosive diarrhea, amazing food, staff started getting a little fed up with me, when I left I heard a relieved sigh, 10/10 would do again pretty good place, sorry for the inconvenience, really nice people, best 30$ I've ever spent

I give four stars 'cause everyone else in my party loves going to Bella's. Folks enjoy the Pizza, the Chicken Parmesan and other dishes. But because I'm gluten intolerant, and have other food sensitivities, my options at Bella's are limited, and they refuse to make substitutions. So, I ordered the grilled fish with mashed potatoes. It normally has green beans as a side, but I can't eat them, so I just left them off. If you don't have any sensitivities, I think you'll find Bella's to be a nice local restaurant with a good selection.

    Chicken wings saga part 2.

Worlds record for smallest chicken wings (x5 out of an order of 10!), which was noted as amusing but unconcerning by the waitress. Pizza was okay, but otherwise unpleasant experience. Wish we would have got the lowdown from locals earlier - when we told them we went to Bella's, they cringed and recommended Fortify and a couple of other places. Don't make the same mistake we did.

    Baked Ziti time!

Bella's is located in a small shopping center. There is plenty of parking. The sidewalk serves as their outdoor dining area. We dined inside, with approximately a dozen tables/booths. There is also a small bar/counter with approximately 3-4 seats. The server stated that she was still fairly new but she did a very good job. She kept our drinks filled and checked on us a few times during our meal. I had baked ziti and a side salad and my sister had a small pizza. The food was freshly prepared and very tasty. The restaurant was very clean. I do recommend this restaurant. I only saw one large table with approximately 8 seats so this is probably a good place for 4 people or less in a party. P.s. the garlic knot was delicious. Very soft and fresh!

The not "grouper" grouper we ordered. This is not what grouper looks like. See the skinny tail at the end?

Despite how busy the Oak was, she was able to find us a table, which we greatly appreciated. The chef did an outstanding job with the trout dish, which was absolutely delicious. Our server, Chip, was charming, attentive, and knowledgeable, helping us navigate the menu with ease. Rich, the manager, also took the time to visit our table and ensure we were enjoying our experience, making us feel genuinely valued as guests. The exceptional hospitality and attention to detail from the entire team made our visit truly memorable. Oak has created a wonderful dining experience, and if every restaurant had a staff like this, dining out would always be a pleasure.

Our groups of six sampled a few of the amazing cocktails with the Stekoa Sour being a huge hit. I think 3-4 came out for us. The complimentary muffins were outstanding; so much so we asked for some to go. We ordered the mountain queso, bone marrow steak tartare and brussel sprouts for the table. All mouthwatering, but the sprouts stole the show. I could drink that sauce! Our entrees included a Caesar salad with chicken, house salad with chicken, bolognese, Tuscan chicken pasta, meatloaf, and short ribs. Everything hit! So stuffed, but wait there's more! They provided complimentary desserts of our choice since three of us were celebrating a birthday. Do not skip the carrot cake OR the apple crumb cake with dulce de leche ice cream. Nearly licked the plates. On top of how amazing everything was, it was also so fairly priced. Such a wonderful treat. I'm so sad I live seven hours away and only visit annually. Local folks, keep them in business!

We loved the Shrimp Fuego, it was a large portion and the shrimp were large and cooked perfectly. Our entrees were the scallops and crab cake and each was really delicious. We especially like the cauliflower puree and asparagus with the scallops. The crab cake was large and very good. My only critical comment was the base of the crab cake was not enjoyed by either of us. Just didn't fit with the crab cake. Afterwards, because we were celebrating our anniversary we got an slice of carrot cake to eat later which we later ate and it was really delicious as well. This is an A+ choice1

She disappeared into the kitchen and came back with the menus a while later. We ordered margaritas. We noticed our server making the margaritas. Wow! She is a bartender too? Welp, that was short lived. The margaritas were clear ice. No flavor, nada. Our server had by then disappeared, so we tried to flag down other servers...but they quickly just passed our table. Legends needs to introduce the "team" attitude amongst their servers just like Murphy's chophouse staff, but I digress. Our server finally appeared again at our table, and we told her about the margaritas. She quickly said "I told you they were awful!" Before I could respond she quickly added "Oh no, I told that other table that!". She suggested different drinks, and we agreed. She went to the bar, made them, and delivered them. They were awful. We stuck with water after that. Legends needs to have actual, certified and trained bartenders working. That would also have helped our server SERVE better, as she had to keep diverting to the bar to make drinks for her various tables. We inquired about the Southwestern egg rolls, she said "those come frozen, they aren't made here". So we ordered the chips and queso dip which she said were "made in house". The queso dip was bland. And during our visit, our server kept dropping some vulgar words, which we felt was inappropriate for a server to use while serving patrons in a restaurant. We have loved Perrone's, Poor Parsons, and Murphy's Chophouse. We won't be returning to or recommending Legends.

The wait staff is excellent. They are open seven days a week for breakfast and for lunch until 3:30p. My bride had the western omelet and pronounced it excellent (a pretty rare rating from her). I'm a big fan of chicken livers and these are good - and more than one person can eat in a single sitting. The onion rings are "real" onion rings and the batter delicious. The place holds about 20-30 patrons so get there early. Net: Food very good, service excellent, ambiance very good, prices reasonable. Here's a link to their website: https://claytoncafe.com/

I noticed the window sign said "Angie's Clayton Cafe" and whilst being seated at 11:45AM on Tuesday June 2, 2026, noted the wall art had changed, no more local memorabilia, and the menu is now a well worn, two sheet pieces of copy paper. No problem, the place was nearing capacity per usual and we did get a window seated table. But, then I noticed, no collard greens on the menu. So, if you read my earlier reviews, you will note that I have eaten at quite a few "meat and three" style country diners and that I also know how to cook this food at home. That's a big qualifier, because Clayton Cafe had become a part of our destination trip to Clayton from Greenville, SC. It was just that good, a notch above the crowd. I didn't find this experience to be the same. The decor, service, ambiance was the same. Even the same crowd starting a 15 minute table wait shortly after noon. Business has not suffered, but the food is not the same. Overall, everything was less flavorful, more bland. The highlight, the white sawmill gravy was piping hot and flowed well, not a gloopy mess and I like that it was served on the side. The country fried steak was tender, but it had less crunch on the crust and was significantly bland - pepper and salt please. The green beans had a small chunk of meat involved, but they too were very bland and lacked a depth of flavor expected from the hamhock, the biscuit was good, but not the buttery crusty biscuit if yore. The okra was straight up flour breading with no cornmeal in the mixture and that's a game changer on this dish. Fried chicken was good. Squash, or squash casserole was a bland mess and left uneaten. Don't get me wrong. This three star rating means "OK". It's still a good meat and three. It's just not an exceptional meat and three as experiences my multiple prior visits. So that's when I asked the server if the restaurant had changed owners and yes, in April 2026. Well, there ya go, but Bon Chance to the new owners and Godspeed towards the hard work and keeping it going. Obviously, a full house lunch crowd on a Tuesday in June shows positive momentum. I'm just saying, pay attention to flavor, both in depth and complexity, to make these Southern standards stand out from the meat and three crowd.
