We have eaten here three times. First when a different owner was running the place and it was…read moreactually delicious. The second time was with the current owner and the eggplant parmigiana was good but the pasta sampler was very bland. We waited several months to give it another shot as we know things could improve. We ordered fried calamari, supreme pizza and baked Tuscany. They were out of the fried calamari, it happens, but it seems like a reoccurring incident with many items as the waitress told the table behind us they were out of many items. My husband had the pizza and said it was good but the dough was not cooked all the way through and he could barely hold a slice because it was soggy. My pasta was very good, big portion. The bread rolls were probably my favorite part, very good and while they don't give oil with them the Parmesan and pepper flakes on the table were enough. The poor waitress was very overwhelmed with a large crowd tonight, she needs an additional person handling the drinks and check out counter. She did her best but forgot many orders and drink orders and returned to the table to re ask or confirm. My advice to her is to always bring her notepad, take some anxiety medicine, and wear some lavender. The owner/ chef in the kitchen, some advice would to ditch the menu entirely and have daily specials only! Have 6 meals available at all times rotate your dishes and a soup and salad combo always available. Go back to a simpler menu until it's manageable and then you can grow your team and add more options. Your portions are big and food is okay, it will be easier, better, more efficient, and quality will improve when you limit your menu. Overall for decent food, long waits, and an underwhelming place to eat out, give it a shot. Next time I'll be going to the seafood place next door. (P.S. The water has a chlorine taste to it, not sure if this is all of Halletsville but if so the city needs to update its filtration! The chlorine lingering behind soft drinks at every restaurant is awful.)

Food is always great, but they don't want you to call in an order, the phone number is invalid…read more Guess they're not savy enough to update social media.

I was pleasantly surprised at the absolutely amazing freshness and quality of the food and modern/light atmosphere of this place (a bit unexpected after a few lackluster food experiences in Schulenberg leading up to our lunch here). It was every bit at good as some of the cafes I've eaten in major cities (where there is heavy dining competition). Mom and I both ordered their delicious chicken salad sandwich, piled high (but not too thickly) with shredded chicken on perfectly baked, flaky (but not too flaky) croissant bread. The chicken salad was a perfect blend of seasonings with a few cranberries for a little sweetness. Divine! Each sandwich came with a side of crispy/perfect (seemingly handmade) chips. Our tour guide ordered a gourmet grilled cheese sandwich which she seemed to really enjoy as well, complete with perfectly buttered and crisp grilled sourdough bread. The atmosphere was very modern and new yet warm and dotted with beautiful antique pieces (be sure to check out the old buffet across from the bathroom doors, gorgeous!). And this place seemed packed with many locals in their brunch attire to enjoy the great food and great hospitality of the wait staff. Behind the restaurant, they also host a beautiful nursery where you can browse under the trees through their fairly extensive collection of plants (flowering and non flowering - we saw some variations of native flowering plants we've either never seen before or don't see often so my mom purchased a few for her garden!), chat with the very knowledgeable and friendly owner of the nursery, browse the little nursery gift shop full of unique and beautiful items, and even visit with the sweet "shop" kitties (who seem to like to hang out near the nursery gift shop entrance) if you wish. All in all, a very special experience at this gem in Schulenberg. We will definitely make this our number one stop for meals (and to buy more plants) in Schulenberg when we return!

I was disappointed in the Ruben sandwich. Mind you, it was served warm as most are, but after eating Reubens from delis with lots of meat, from the photos you can see that my Reuben from here had a skimpy serving of meat. Additionally, I thought that the menu had it at one price and the register rung it up as $1.00 higher. I found that it is a dollar more for a salad. It comes standard with chips. That's reasonable to me and I thought that the salad was good. My spouse had the burger, and she enjoyed it. She liked that it came with a choice of fries or a healthy salad. I was pleased that a Zero Coke was only $2.00. That's extremely reasonable!

We needed some good coffee, so we stopped by Tille's Cafe. It has a really cute interior, and I ordered an Iced Hot & Dirty, which is a Chai Latte with a shot of espresso. I swapped the milk for oat milk, and I was impressed, it was delicious!! The bathrooms are very clean. The staff was friendly. They serve food as well, though we didn't stay to eat. I did notice others enjoying their meals and reading inside! A cute little coffee shop if you're looking to catch up with friends, do some work, etc.!

Upon arrival we were seat in a chic, cozy dining room off of the bar and our waitress promptly took our drink orders. For dinner our group of four ordered a bunch of items to share - Meatballs, Burrata, Chopped Caesar, Pappardelle, Cacio e Pepe & Chicken Milanese. We enjoyed all of the dishes but the standouts were probably the meatballs and Cacio e Pepe which was perfectly al dente and more than a little bit addictive. For dessert we had the chocolate cake which was also tasty. Overall the service was attentive and quick. I was actually surprised at how rapidly our food hit the table after ordering, but it was served fresh and hot. Would absolutely recommend to friends coming to Round Top.

It was very expensive so if I am going to pay for that, I would like to have a full menu... they blamed it on saying they didn't order enough at the beginning of the week. I tried to order the tenderloin, but the waiter told me not to order it because it wouldn't be cooked to my liking. Who says that for a $45 steak. It's difficult because Round Top doesn't have a lot of restaurants, but I would not come back here. Disappointing.

Very very happy to report that it was wonderful. Our server was a family member and very conscience and friendly, as was the bartender. We'd consider ourselves "foodies" and we travel a lot and we enjoyed every single thing we got. An espresso martini, a dirty vodka martini, fresh caprese salad, garlic bread, lobster risotto and the shrimp pasta (Diablo?) with a little heat. We took the chocolate truffles to go. I would highly recommend you try them out when you're in Brenham. Ps. We did not have a reservation and they fit us in but they seemed a little busy and this was a Tuesday night so reserve ahead if you can.

It gives everything a cozy, charming feel with a lot of character. Parking, though, can be tricky. It's limited, and if you're wearing heels, the rocky ground and steep hill can make it a bit of a challenge when the lot fills up. We had reservations but arrived a little early, and they were able to seat us without an issue. Service was solid overall. The staff was quick to let us know what items were unavailable, which helped with decision-making. I did notice a dish being served that wasn't on the menu, and when I asked about it, we found out it was a seafood and noodle special. Two of us decided to try it. For food, we started with the sautéed garlic ricotta appetizer, which was a standout. It had a really nice balance of mild sweetness and savory flavor. The eggplant parmesan was huge and easily shareable between two people, with great flavor throughout. Honestly, most of the portions felt big enough to split. I ordered the seafood special, and while the flavor was decent, the shrimp were consistently overcooked and chewy, which made it hard to enjoy. The mussels were the highlight of the dish, though they reminded me of the frozen kind you can heat up at home. Overall, it was an okay experience. Not somewhere I'd go out of my way to recommend, but if it were the only option in town, I'd consider going back.
